Each box comes with a card detailing the products included.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Nail Wraps

Previse Skincare HydroMilk Hydrating Lotion - Value $48

This lotion is my favorite discovery in the box - it's a perfect lightweight hydrating face lotion. It is lightly scented with natural fragrance (lavender and geranium), and the formula is so gentle too. (Plus you don't need to use much per application, so this 2 oz tube should last me a long time!)

Scratch Nails Lacework Nail Wraps - Value $12

I'm not a big nail wrap person, but I think I will try layering the gold ones over nail polish on a few accent nails. Here is a picture from their instagram to give you a better idea of how these wraps look on:

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Brush

Vasanti Professional Foundation Brush - Value $32

I love getting makeup brushes and tools in subscription boxes, and Boxycharm sends them out pretty frequently! I've been happy with the Vasanti Blush Brush from the July Boxycharm box, so I'm sure this brush will be good quality too.

Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel - Value $18

(Good to know for swaps - this comes sealed in plastic wrap)

Another item I'm always happy to see in a subscription box! (I don't think I've had to buy brow gel in years!) This formula doesn't have as much hold as other brow gels I've tried, but I think that's actually better for me.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Liner

tarte smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner  in Gold - Value $22

(Subscribers will either receive this tarte liner in various colors, or the skinny smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner in various colors).

I love all things tarte, so I was happy to see this eyeliner as one of the spoilers this month. And I love this gold shade - I don't have anything like it in my collection, and the tarte formula goes on smoothly and stays put! (Swatched below).

Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil - .5 oz Value $2.75 (Bonus item)

(Good to know for swaps - this has a foil seal)

Boxycharm sends out full size items, so this travel sized item is listed as a bonus 6th item. I've never sampled the Kardashian line before, but I like the scent of this dry oil, and a little goes a long way to add shine!

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Swatch

Verdict: This box has a value of about $134! I don't know how Boxycharm does it each month, but the value of the box and the brands they include always wow me. And this month I think I'll use every single item! What do you think of the September 2015 Boxycharm box?

I’m waiting for some sort of coupon to pop up. Been itching to grab a box of theirs but since I’m a student with loans I have to be very careful where I’m spending my money ;(

I received my box today and love all but the nail art. Did anyone else receive a full size cargo beach lush? It’s a bronzer / blush combo. Not even sure why I got it but I ADORE IT!!!

The blush was a bonus for long time subscribers who apparently had account issues when Boxy moved to their new servers. Apparently they were the last to be able to make adjustments to their accounts or even access it. So Boxy randomly chose 1000 of them and sent them the blush.

Boxycharm was the very first box I subscribed to after my happy discovery of this blog, and they have been really responsive and rarely disappoint with the selections. I got an extra item, a full sized Cargo blush. I had gotten an email when they were asking us all to re-log in to their new site, which said that if I did this by 8/5 I would get a bonus in my September box. I know Liz said the Kardashian product was a bonus but it was listed on my card, and the blush wasn’t. So I think that’s pretty amazing for a bonus, wondering if anyone else got one.

BoxyCharm has never disappointed me!! (Except the hideous purple lip bar)

I usually apply my foundation with my hands-so for those who use the brush for masks–do you wash your brush after each use?

Reply ButtonReply

Marsha

Yes, you should always was your foundation brush and any beauty blenders after you use them. Your other brushes at least once a month if you use them everyday a bit more.

Items look great! I still haven’t received the 9/15 boxycharm, which will be my first. In fact, both my first boxycharm and first ipsy have been stuck in Orlando in transition from DHL to USPS for over a week! (In “pre-shipment” status per USPS.) I thought I’d be one of the first to receive as I’m in the Florida panhandle and boxycharm is near Miami. I’ve had no problem with my Birchbox items. Are these shipping issues common with boxycharm and ipsy? (I find it interesting that they both use DHL. Are they affiliated? Their web designs and email processes are very similar)

Reply ButtonReply

Have the times in getting your boxycharm gotten better? I just signed up last night and I live in the florida Panhandle, too.
Just wondering how long it generally takes for it to reach you. Birchbox and ipsy are ridiculous wheb it comes to mail. Two states away but always takes 7-12 days to arrive after shipping . DHL are terrible shipping partners if you ask me. I have two sub boxes that come ups and it’s perfect.

Courtney

Hi! No, unfortunately, they still take forever. My Birchbox is usually the first followed by ipsy then boxycharm. Boxycharm takes every bit of 8-10 days to arrive. I believe they go to Atlanta first then back down to Florida, like an airline. You’d think close proximity – or at least being in the same state – would work in your favor. Not so much with boxycharm. Yes, DHL is the worst I’ve seen, but I assume they’re used because they’re cheaper than the others. Anyway, I still love my boxycharm and don’t have plans to let it go anytime soon. 🙂 Good luck and enjoy your boxys!

Olivia

I am never disappointed with my boxycharm. The value is always incredible, I don’t know how they do it! I received the same box as Liz, except my chubby tarte liner is in the color fig, which is a beautiful chocolate brown. The moisturizer is nice as well. Even when I get products that aren’t for me, such as the nail wraps, I gift them to friends and they love it!
I get about 15 subs every month and boxycharm is in my top 3! If you’re on the fence about subbing to this one, don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed!

Kristi

Got the Tarte chubby stick in gunmetal and love the color. Boxycharm hasn’t disappointed me yet. I know I will love something in each box.

Danielle

This is a good box, but not my favorite from Boxy. I’m disappointed with my Tarte eyeliner. I got the skinny version in the color “Golden Tiger’s Eye” which is a warm brownish color that doesn’t work well with most of my makeup looks. I also can’t find it on Tarte’s or Sephora’s websites, so maybe it’s discontinued?

I also am not a fan of the Kardashians at all, and will never use anything they sell. The Previse isn’t something I would use, either.

I do really like the eyebrow gel and foundation brush, and I’m going to use the Scratch to give the whole nail wraps thing a try.

I still love Boxy. It’s a great sub, and I would be thrilled if I had gotten the eyeliner that Liz got. Oh, well – you win some, you lose some! 🙂

I just got my box today. I got the same one as Liz. I love it. So happy with this box and I think the nail wraps are beautiful.

I got my Boxycharm today. I got the Tarte eyeliner in chubby Fig which is a gorgeous shimmery chocolate brown. I love it. The foundation brush is perfect because I needed a new one. I really like nail wraps so am excited to try these. I tried the lotion on my hands and love it!! I will definitely use it as a facial moisturizer tomorrow. I don’t use or need eyebrow products so the Chelle brow gel will be given to someone else. I can always use hair oil as I have long thick hair so I’m not thrilled at getting a Kardashian brand but it will get used. Great Boxycharm this month!

Received my box today, love everything in the box. The Tarte eyeliner color I received was chubby Fig. Its so pretty

Does anyone else notice how Boxycharm says their items are drugstore brands yet most are higher end? I think Boxycharm should update their description because they’re underselling their quality of items. I mean Tarte & Vasanti are not sold in drugstores, atleast I’ve never seen them.

I can use everything except the nail wraps. The hair oil makes up for that. It has decent reviews on Ulta, so looking forward to trying.

Tricia

Does anyone know if I’ll get this month’s box if I subscribe today? I really like this box and would love it if it could be the first box they send me.

Reply ButtonReply

kerri

Yes you will. Boxycharm rarely sells out. You can subscribe on the last day of the month and still get that months box.

Reply ButtonReply

Tricia

Thank you all for answering! I’m going to sub right now 🙂

Britt

Hi! When I subscribed in May, it was towards the end of the month & I received the May box, the next week. I wasn’t expecting it, so a was a good surprise! I’m not 100% sure, you would receive this month, but that was my experience. You may want to email them, I’ve had good experiences with Boxycharm Customer Service. Good Luck!!?

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Yes! You will get this month’s box if you subscribe during this month! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

I use a brush for masks too! This box seems amazing! I don’t sub yet but that tarte pencil is absolutely needed. Will have to swap for it in the skinny version asap!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Has anyone else gotten their box yet? The ones that I’ve seen on YouTube (and this one) all seem (so far) to have gotten the same Tarte Pencil (same color/size everything.) I’m hoping for a different color… but if not…. I suppose I could use it as an eyeshadow… or base?

Reply ButtonReply

Mary K

I got a Tarte skinny liner instead of chubby, which I’m happy with because I get more use out of them that way and it’s in a gorgeous teal color called Azurite Green. Due to many subscriptions, I have a ridiculous amount of eyeliners (I’m talking at least 30!) and I can say without hesitation that this Tarte liner is the best texture I have ever tried: creamy, goes on smooth and easy, no tugging whatsoever, and great staying power — I’m impressed! I seem to be the only one (so far) who got a Mirabella face primer instead of the Chella brow gel, but I’m thrilled because my skimpy brows need gel like a fish needs a bicycle, LOL.

Question about the foundation brush: how can such a flat brush apply foundation? My regular foundation brush is round, mostly flat and super dense, and does a great job buffing in the foundation. I just can’t picture how a brush of this shape applies foundation? Happy to have it — I’ll use it for concealer or under eye setting powder, but I’d like to know if there’s a technique I’m missing here, lol. Thanks in advance, ladies! 🙂

Jessica

I got the Mirabella too… Which is an interesting choice because it was in the January box!

sbullar

I received a gorg wine/burgundy color in the thick style – luv it!

Angelmc198

I received my box and I got the fat purple Tarte eyeliner. Everything else was the same.

Reply ButtonReply

liddybug

I got mine yesterday and I got the same as Liz. Chubby gold. It’s amazing! !

Reply ButtonReply

liddybug

I refuse to support anything Kardashian so the oil went straight in the trash. I love everything else. I got the exact same Tarte liner-chubby gold-that Liz got and I love it. I always need makeup brushes. The lotion might be my new hg face lotion. Love it!! I may be in the minority but I love nail wraps so I am excited to try these. Brow products are the one makeup product I never use as I am really lucky to have naturally perfect brows but the brow gel will be given to my sister. Love this box!

Nail wraps, Kardashian Beauty, Chella…. 3 huge womp-womp-womp’s for me. Guess they had to balance the box out and not set the bar too high for next month lol.
The brush, Previse, and Tarte liner are all groovy though.

Nice box! I like to use my beauty blender for foundation, but I love using foundation brushes for applying face masks. I may have to swap for one!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

That’s a great idea!!! I was wondering what I would use this brush for since I don’t like these types of brushes for foundation application! I can use it for the clay mask I still have, and the Eslor mask! Thanks for the suggestion!

Trinity

That is an awesome idea!

Why have I never thought to apply face masks with a brush before? Thank you Caitlin! 🙂
