Each box comes with a card detailing the products included.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Brush

Vasanti Professional Blush Brush - Value $29

This definitely feels like a high-quality brush, and I'm glad I didn't have to pay the $29 price tag to get it! (I also didn't realize Vasanti made makeup brushes. I'm so used to getting their Brighten Up scrub from Birchbox I never stopped to think if they made anything else!)

Gorge I’ll Make Your Look Amazing Daily Spray - Value $29.95

This is one of those “does it all” leave-in conditioner hair products – detangles, adds shine, repairs, creates silky hair, etc. This is my second spray this month thanks to subscription boxes, and I like it! The formula is lightweight, and I love the scent - it reminds me of some kind of tropical sunscreen.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Minerals

yourMinerals Transparent Veil Setting Powder - Value $26

I've sampled yourMinerals before thanks to subscription boxes, and I like that their formulas are all simple and natural. I just tried this setting powder for the first time, and so far it is working great. (The finish is matte, and invisible - exactly what I want in an everyday setting powder).

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Mascara

OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil - Value $13

(I think this is the one item with variation this month - on Instagram some subscribers received a lip liner instead). This eyebrow pencil has great pigment and goes on smoothly. The color is a little on the warm side though, so it probably isn't universal for everyone. (Swatched below).

MDMflow Mascara - Value $35

I haven't gotten a chance to try this yet - but I'm already in love with the packaging!

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Swatch

Verdict: I think this is a great month for BoxyCharm. I will use every item in the box (and I always love getting quality makeup brushes in boxes). The value comes to about $133 - I don't know how BoxyCharm does it!

What do you think of the July 2015 Boxycharm box?

I skipped my August box on time I even got a confirmation email. Now they are charging my card and emailing me that I haven’t paid. I email them back, twice, and I got nothing but another attempted charge. After 2 emails still no reply. Worst customer service ever. I’m canceling. Never had a problem like this with any other of my subscriptions

They just revealed the first spoiler for the August box! Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette, retails for 39.95, but on sale for 19.95!

Just got my first box. Yay..sort of. I assumed that I would get Aug since it was so late in the month when I subbed. I had already seen reviews and unboxings, so it is kind of meh for me. I was excited about the mascara because of the cool packaging. Was gonna gift it. But, after reading the so so reviews and the pumping tutorial on how to make it work, I will just keep it. Was also hoping for the eye brow pencil but instead got a plum lip liner. Will try the Gorge. So the lip pencil, brush and mineral veil will be saved to use for Christmas gift bags at work. But, the value is great for the price. No denying that. Looking forward to the Aug box.

Okay. I have NEVER in my life had any type of allergic reaction to anything related to food or makeup. I don’t have sensitive skin. I don’t break out if I eat certain things, I guess I’m lucky.

That being said – My eyes are BURNING. The only thing I have done different is use the MDMflow mascara.

This is the best beauty box subscription by far. It outshines all of them including Birchbox and I love Birchbox. The full-size products are exceptional and I love the mineral veil powder and the full-size brush as well. The hair detangler is amazing and makes me hair shine and smells very nice. My MDM flow Mascara did not work properly after priming it several times. I contacted customer service and they assure me I will get the replacement in next month’s box. You just cannot go wrong with Boxycharm as a subscription box. I am looking forward to August’s already and as soon as I am able I will be renewing my box as an annual subscription. The only drawback is not being able to earn charms while I have been a member these past two months. Are there boxes as good or comparable to this one that I should be subscribing to?

I got this box after trying to cancel in June, but they sent it anyway and then got an email a few days later that I was being refunded for July. I actually liked the Gorge spray, it did detangle pretty well and smelled good. The mascara didn’t seem like there was a lot on the brush when I used it, and was using it anyway, I liked it, but prefer my old Maybelline mascara. I’ll have to try to “prime” it and see if I like it better. This was a nice Boxycharm compared to the last 2 or 3 boxes that caused me to cancel. Boxycharm was my fave sub but the last 2 or 3 boxes were totally worthless to me.

I love this month’s Boxycharm! My favorite item is the blush brush, because I’ve been looking for a new one. I’m also excited to try the setting powder and the mascara.

I already have the eyebrow pencil, but I like it, so I’m keeping this one as a backup. I’m curious about the hair product, but I decided to put it up for swap because I have another favorite that I don’t think can be beat, so I probably won’t ever get around to using this one.

What is the favorite that you prefer?

I just signed up for Boxycharm on the 19th. I have a couple of questions. Will I still receive the July box? The e-mail they sent didn’t really specify. And 2nd I’m also subbed to Glossy box, so far I have only received 2 boxes but, I just wanted to get opinions on which seems better out of the 2? I’m not sure I want to continue paying for the both of them along with Birch box and Ipsy. Any help would be great!

So this is my third review on this post lol, but I just wanted to say how much I love that leave in conditioner! It made my hair so soft, and not frizzy! And it smells like happiness. Normally my post shower hair routine involves five different hair products, including gel, conditioning spray, and mousse, but last night all I used was this guy. This morning my hair is still soft, not squashed to the side of my head, and is only slightly frizzy. I don’t use tools like straighteners or blow dryers, so I don’t know how it works with those things, but either way, it’s magic and I love it. Favorite product of the box, and one I seriously might purchase in the future.

Curious why some got black boxes- Maybe just reviewers? Don’t always love all my boxycharm items, but still love the sub- often discover new brands.

To everyone that was hating the mascara (me included) mdmflow posted a video on their instagram that said if you prefer a thicker coated brush, you need to activate your mascara. I did this and it made a difference for me. It is still not my favorite mascara, but at least now I can actually see something show up on my lashes 🙂
step 1:Remove from carton

step 2: unscrew the cap and remove mascara wand fully from its tube.

step 3: Re-insert wand fully into its tube and screw it closed. Shake the closed mascara for ten seconds.

step 4: Unscrew the cap and ‘pump’ the wand in and out of the tube a minimum of 10 times.

Tamara

Ooh, pumping the mascara wand in and out of the tube is kind of a bad idea. It introduces bacteria into the tube.

They claim their super tight neck design is different from other mascaras? I was just passing along the info incase someone missed the IG post 🙂

Got my box today! The mascara is lovely, really gentle on my sensitive eyes, and adds a nice amount of length, and builds nicely without caking up on me. The setting power is smaller then I had anticipated, but works for my skin, so I’m happy! I got the lip liner in delicious red, and it’s really pretty, but def not a summer color for me, so I’ll be saving it for fall and winter. The brush is soooo soft, and no hairs fell out after a few minutes of fondling, which is a win! The hair stuff is huge! I apparently don’t know what four ounces looks like because I was prepared for something the size of the cool way hair lotion! It smells fantastic, and doesn’t leave my hands sticky, so I’m hopeful it’ll do good things to my hair. Great box, all in all.

My one complaint is that last month two of my items were damaged, and I was told they would send them in this month’s box. They sent the liquid highlighter, but not the doucce lipstick. I don’t really like the lipstick, as the color wasn’t for me and the feel was too pasty/slimey, but it’s the principle of the thing, you know? But I don’t think it’s worth the hassle to go through all that again for a product I don’t really even like.

So the month itself was a total win, customer service? Not so much.

If I would order this today would I receive July? Or would it start in August? I have been debating this box for months… but due to the value I think I want to go for it!

Reply ButtonReply

Mika

You would receive a box in the month you order. I’ve been with boxycharm for 3 months now and I’ve loved every box. So worth the $21, the value of the box is always over $100

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

You will get this month’s box unless it sells out and that’s only happened once since I’ve had the box.

Amanda

Thank you!

Desiree

Can I apply the setting powder with the brush that was in the box or do you use a different type of brush?

Desiree

BoxyCharm is awesome! I will use everything but the lip liner. This is my third month and I think I’ll go ahead and sign up for a year.

My Birchbox sub ends in Nov. and doubt I’ll renew. It just doesn’t compare.

This was one of my favorite of the most practical Boxes. I absolutely LOVE BoxyCharm – it’s the only box I have on auto-renew because there’s no denying the value and it’s affordable enough that I can justify the charge – and would be uberupset if I missed a month. In the last 8 months, I’ve gotten some great stuff – but I wish they’d send more mascaras and liners. BTW, the Ofra pencil is the best eye pencil I’ve ever used by way of texture (color is a tad reddish but it actually blends in fine) it sets and stays so well due to the special wax formula it doesn’t smudge – I actually washed my face and showered and it didn’t come off! It’s great. The mascara is ok – it’s a soft light formula that gives length more than curl and has a subtle look even after several coats. LOVE LOVE LOVE Boxy. The only thing that’d make me cancel Boxy would be if they kept sending variations on the boxes without our having a choice – it seems like I always get the least faves every time, when I’ve paid the same everyone else…I lucked out this time in getting the brow pencil tho! I think black boxes are for reviewers…the pink ones make me smile, I prefer those.

Definitely one of my favorite boxes.

This is one of my favorite boxes. Occasionally I’ll swap something with a friend but overall I love it!

Yay great box this month, Idk why everyone dislikes the mascara i tried mine on and it went on great and there is plenty of product on the brush. Overall great box definitely one of my favorite subscriptions. I’m thinking about canceling birchbox, I’m starting to get upset over the tiny samples and thinking of switching to the new allure box. Beauty fix has one more month to show me something or I’m done with that too!

Reply ButtonReply

Annette

I love Boxycharm the most and I just said the same thing about Birchbox…too small to decide if you like the stuff! The Allure one is good!!

Reply ButtonReply

Alicia

I cannot wait to get mine! I am subscribed to tons of beauty boxes and others and Boxycharm is one of my faves! I love them, each month is great! I find them a lot better than Glossybox, they seem to really be going down hill.:(

Reply ButtonReply

Marcy

Wait? Why is your box black? Looks so swanky…I still get the white with gold ribbon on the side. Just curious ^_^ I love my box this month too, BTW!

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Ha! I didn’t even notice the black box until you pointed it out! Maybe it has something to do with their website overhaul? A whole new look for the brand, something like that?

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Very excited for this box! I hope if get the brow pencil, and I only have one brow product, but I’d love the lip liner too! The mascara I am still hopeful for, because in my experience if everyone loves it, it’ll do nothing for me, and if everyone hates it, it’ll end up being my favorite! Brushes are always needed, and the powder I hope works well. The hair stuff I’m excited for because my cool way goopy stuff is almost gone! I love getting this box! I almost wish they had more variation between boxes so I could have two subscriptions to them, lol!

Loved my box this month. This box seems to get better and better. Other than packaging it is giving my Glossybox a run for its money.

Reply ButtonReply

Ellen

ok…good to know!

I have ipsy and birchbox and new allure box. I tried glossybox and beautyfix which are both losers in my eyes. Birchbox was strong this month (curated box) but I may quit that too…hate small samples!
Sooo…I will have some funding open up to try new beauty stuff. I buy high end make up so it doesn’t make sense for me to get boxes w tiny samples or drug store. But if boxy harm has good stuff and quality and not tiny samples it will be a good choice.

I swear, when BeautyFix was Blush Mystery Beauty Box, it was hands down my favorite box. They have slowly, over the past year, destroyed the box. It used to have a great mix of products, mostly full/deluxe size. Now it is all stuff complexion-specific makeup and tiny skincare samples. This month was my “give them one more shot” month and I cancelled this week. The worst boxes I’ve received from them in 12 months have been the past few.

Not a fan of the mascara at all. Also not a huge fan of the Gorge hair product. It smells good and works okay but I’ve definitely had better leave in conditioner sprays. I like the brush and powder! Still not a bad box all in all.
