GB doesn’t always honor their free items with purchase/box. So don’t be surprised if it doesn’t appear. I had signed up for a free IT Cosmetic eyebrow pencil and they never sent it. Also had an empty container of product sent as well. Took a week of emails, told me they were out of stock and sent a list of crappy products to choose from. I cancelled after that.

Same thing happened to me except they didn’t offer me anything in place of of the eyebrow pencil. I even e-mailed them and asked if I could get something else they were offering as their free item and they told me no, the that was for new subscribers only and I would have to cancel and re-sub. So I cancelled but will not be re-subbing. They lied a number of times telling me I would be given new option in their newsletter but, that never happened.

I signed up. I’d been eyeing it for awhile and I’ll use everything in the August box except for the eyeliner and since I’ve never subbed to this one I don’t mind that the bonus box is one from a previous month. With the average cost at $14/box for the 3 box deal it’s a lot nicer of a box than Allure.

U have to cancel by 14th. They were really nice to be on phone. I actually like them but I’m gonna cancel bc boxes are not as good in value. They use to be a lot better. I really like boxycharm 😉 This is a good deal especially if u like the August box review.

Did anyone else get the brush that was promised with the “brushup” code? I had written them earlier saying I haven’t received it. I had to write a follow-up email and now they say the brush is out-of-stock and to pick from a list of much cheaper items. Considering canceling as it seems like a bait and switch to me.

I received my brush last week. I was so excited when I got it, but the first time I tried to use it it fell apart. The bristles on the brush started coming off to the point that my face was covered in them.

That is disappointing! Did you contact Customer Service? I think I’ve become so spoiled by the CS at Birchbox that my expectations are set a bit too high for GB.

HL

I also haven’t received the brush and thanks to your reminder, I contacted customer service. I hope that they will be willing to make it right. Otherwise, it definitely seems like a bait and switch. I wonder if Glossybox has a habit of issues like that because I always see such mixed reviews.

Does anyone know from your experience when they would likely bill for the September box and when it would likely ship? I want to make sure that it will be before the 15th so I can cancel October if I’m not liking the subscription. Reviews seem to be hit and miss with this one.

I would just buy a gift sub for a month so that way you get the september box and not be rebilled thats what I do with all my PSMH orders since the customer service is the worst.

@jessica Clever.

I bought the 6 months deal from Rulala a while ago. When that expires I’m not continuing with this sub. Boxycharm is SO much better and i’m on product overload. Not worth the money to me.

I would look at Liz August box review to make sure u like most of items. i thought every month sold out so I’m curious at what box they are giving. I bought 3 months off rue lala and have one left. I tempted to still get this.

MUST.resist.this.offer! Need some self-control.

How can I be tempted to get this when I am counting the months til my ‘deal’ subscription ends? I am so overloaded on beauty items. I don’t think I can ever use all that I have prior to expiration.

Doesn’t make sense, but it is what it is…..

Repeat: self control needed (especially because I’m not going to have any self control when the SpaceNK and Barneys events happen in September!)

I’m tempted since it breaks down to $14 a box. Then if I get stuff I don’t dig so much it’s not too much more than ipsy or bb. To subscribe or not to subscribe, that is the question…lol. I can always cancel after September if it’s not a match. Would anyone recommend or highly not recommend? Why?

Your best bet is to look at Liz’s past reviews because, from what I read about this offer, the free box will be a past Glossybox — so there is a good chance of getting at least some of the items you see in the past reviews in your free box.

As for Glossybox subs in general, I find I use more GB items than just about any others, so it is nicely suited to me. But of course that will vary by person. The samples are often higher-end or harder to find in the US than, say, Ipsy. Their Glossydots rewards system works out to about one free box a year (just a regular monthly box, not an extra).

That being said, sometimes it is difficult to get in touch with their customer service. I have gotten replies to all but one e-mail I sent them, although sometimes they need a little public prodding (try Facebook or twitter).

Also, if you are going to cancel, they have a weird schedule. Say you sign up now and get an August box. You’ll be signed up for September, too, because you have to cancel before the 15th of the previous month to avoid getting billed. If you don’t want to get October, you have to cancel by September 15. But you can do it online in your account with no trouble.

I like them enough to stick around but that may not be true for everyone.

Thank you! I have been keeping my eye on this for a few months and I think this is better suited for me than boxy only because I’m not huge on wearing makeup. I’m more into skin care.
