Spider-Gwenom? T-shirt - Value $10?
Here is this month's exclusive ShirtPunch t-shirt depicting Gwen Stacy in her Spider-Gwen form...with a little mix of Venom thrown in. I like that the shirt is timed pretty well with the Spider-Gwen run.
DC Bombshells #1 - Value $3.99
Red Sonja/Conan #1 - Value $3.99
Here are 2 of 3 comics this month. I don't follow the characters that both series are based on - but I love discovering new series, and these being 1 issues certainly help a lot! When I was younger, my brother and I (especially my brother) really loved the Conan movies, so I'm curious if it will translated for me in comic form. Also - the Red Sonya/Conan issue is a Comic Block exclusive variant cover.
X-Files Season 11 #1 - Value $3.99
Here's my exciting find of the month - X-Files Season 11 #1! This is also a Comic Block exclusive cover, and I especially love this variant cover made to look like an old-school action figure box! I've heard really good things about season 11 while at the comic store, and I happen to be a big fan of IDW, so I was planning on trying this anyways. I did get a bit of a plot spoiler at the store though as they were playing the episode the early issues call upon. But fear not, I won't spoil it for you.
Heart and Brain Print - Value $5?
This is an exclusive print of The Awkward Yeti's Heart and Brain webcomic. It's printed on a nice, thicker, card stock - so it'd be good for framing.
Verdict: While I'm not personally excited for every comic included, I still think it's a great box. It always comes in over value with the shirt + additional item (which is usually something very small), so that in itself is great, and makes it a nice choice when considering a box to get into, or back into, comics! Comic boxes have absolutely got me back into many series, and now I'm making multiple trips to the comic store each month!
What did you think of this month's Comic Block? What's your current favorite series?
