Golden Tote is one of my favorite monthly packages – and I think a good deal of my wardrobe is now from Golden Tote items!
If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from).
FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns it’s an all-or-nothing deal. You can return the entire tote for a refund, but you can’t return individual pieces.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
(FYI - I also paid for expedited 2-day shipping).
The Box: Golden Tote
The Cost: $49 or $149 (This review is of the $149 tote)

Touch of Color Maxi Dress - Value $62
(Fabric content: shell 1: 100% modal, shell 2: 100% polyester, Care instructions: Hand wash, do not bleach, hang dry, cool iron)
Here is a closer look at the detail on the front and back of the bodice:
This was one of my 2 picks for the $149 tote, and I'm thrilled with it. I definitely don't need any more black maxis, but I decided the print panels would make it different enough! The fit is great (the black fabric is a stretchy jersey, but the panels don't have any give, so there's a zipper on the side).
The one thing I don't love is that the front slit is in the middle and pretty high - I might adjust that!
High Rise Skinnies - Value $60
(Fabric content: 75% cotton, 23% polyester, 2% spandex; Care instructions: Machine wash cold, do not bleach, tumble dry low)
These jeans are my second item pick. I've been eyeing Golden Tote's denim for a while, but never tried any since they hadn't offered a high rise cut... until now! I love the fit and the stretch of these jeans, and I will definitely buy them again if Golden Tote offers them in other colors/finishes. I think I would have preferred either a non-distressed look, or a little more distressing (not just the slits in the knee caps), but I guess I can always distress them a little more!
Now on to my surprise items:
Collective Concepts Blouse - Value $40?
(100% Polyester, Dry Clean Only).
I like the Collective Concepts brand - I've found their pieces to be well-made, and bought a lot from this brand when I worked at ModCloth. This blouse has a nice lightweight, silky feel to it, and I like the print too. Here's the back:
Priddy by Puella Top - Value $40?
(80% Cotton, 14% Polyester, 6% Spandex; Trim 69% Polyester, 25% Rayon, 4% Cotton,2% Flax; Care: Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry)
Priddy by Puella is a line made exclusively for Golden Tote customers. Usually, their items are a little tent-like. Sometimes I need to belt the items, other times it just doesn't work, but I actually like this tank exactly as it is! The fabric has a nice stretch to it, and I think it is really flattering when paired with jeans.
Here is a look at the contrast fabric in the back:
Chris & Carol Grey Maxi - Value $45?
(95% Rayon, 5% Spandex; Care: Hand wash, lay flat to dry)
If you've read more than a few of my Golden Tote reviews, you may have caught onto a theme - I love maxis! I've added to my style profile in Golden Tote that I love maxis and to include them whenever possible. It's worked so far - I recommend getting as specific as you can with your style profile for the best surprise item results.
This is such a great basic piece, and the fabric is the right weight too - not too thin to be see through, and not too heavy to be too warm to wear in summer weather!
Pink Owl Print Shift Dress - Value $50?
(100% Polyester; Care: hand wash cold, flat dry)
This dress is completely lined, and I really like the bold colors! I don't always like how I look in shift dresses - usually the result is a boxy/unflattering look, but this one works. Maybe it is the black stripe going down the middle?
Verdict: I think this might be my favorite Golden Tote to date - I love all my picks and my surprise items! I updated my style profile since last month (I got way more specific), and I think that helped a lot.
What do you think of the June Golden Tote? Which items did you pick this month? (FYI - if you're interested in getting the June tote, both of the items I selected are still in stock in all sizes, and it looks like most other items are in stock as well).
