Your Bijoux Box Jewelry Subscription Box Review – April 2015 Box

Your Bijoux Box is a monthly jewelry subscription box for women. With every box you get 3 pieces of jewelry picked by Your Bijoux Box stylists. (This is not a customized box – everyone gets the same 3 pieces, however, I believe you can request no earrings if you email them).

Your Bijoux Box sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Your Bijoux Box Jewelry Subscription Box Review – April 2015 Pendant

Aria Alabone Pendant

This is such an interesting piece. I have nothing like it in my jewelry collection. Here is a better look at the pendant piece:

It has a wonderful under-the-sea quality to it! And the look varies depending on the angle too!

Your Bijoux Box Jewelry Subscription Box Review – April 2015 Gold Pendant

Gilded Posy Pendant

This has antique gold coloring, and I like the mix of stones:

Turquoise Layered Necklace

This piece is probably the piece I'll wear most often in the box. (I love all things delicate and gold!) I like the layered look, and this necklace just makes me wish I was on a summer vacation! Maybe it will be an aspirational piece!

Verdict: I think this is a great Spring/transition to summer box. And while the Gilded Posy Pendant reminds me of styles Your Bijoux Box has sent in the past, the other two necklaces feel fresh and different, so I appreciate them mixing it up!

What do you think of the April 2015 Your Bijoux Box?

I really like this month’s box but more importantly, wanted to share a great customer service experience. My 3-month sub renewed on the first, but when I didn’t receive any tracking info by the 20th, I wondered what was up. Reached out and they got back to me quickly, there was a glitch and my renewal was stuck in the “processing” phase, even though it was paid in full. They sent my box out right away, and when I received it, it had a handwritten note of apology, plus an extra piece. I was impressed.

I was going to say – you can get jewelry like this all day long on eBay for just a few dollars… they take forever to ship from China, but lots of different styles…and usually free shipping, too.

Well they shipped my box before they answered if I would get the march or April box.. I liked the march box but I really liked the April!

I had to get this box for a month, and skip Wantable, because I loved the abalone necklace spoiler! After getting it though, I’m not as wild about it. It’s very long and looks like a resin piece with abalone behind it, though I am not sure if it’s real or just an insert.

The gold and turquoise layered necklace is lovely, but mine is even more assymetrical–it’s missing the middle gold coin from the left side, so it looks a bit strange. I might end up taking it into my jewelry doctor’s office and fixing it =)

The welcome lasso necklace is okay, feels very light and is not my style. Neither is the glam necklace–it’s too long, but I do like the colors.

I had the same thing happen saying I would get march box. I emailed them and said I did not want that one.. We will see.
On my email receipt it said that there could be add on pieces but when I click on the link it doesn’t show anything available. When I search it showed an ad for it but won’t go to the page for the ad ons??

All three of these pieces are gorgeous but I especially love the posey pendent. The turquoise layering necklace is also a great summer piece!

I tried to sign up… On the homepage it says to join now and receive April’s box, but when I click on “join now” it says that March will be the first box (if you scroll to the bottom). I emailed them…

I’ve never been interested in a jewelry subscription until I saw the spolier for this box. I wanted that abalone pendant so bad that I signed up. I’m happy to say that I like all three pieces! Plus I’m getting a bonus free thanks to the welcome code. They were offering an add-on piece that matches the abalone necklace. I tried to add it on but I couldnt. I wonder if that will be my free bonus piece.

You can get the turquoise necklace (or one that looks identical to it) for $1.90 at AliExpress.com I couldn’t find either the abalone or the peony pendants, but you can get similar pieces for under $5.

Indeed, AliExpress has some incredible jewelry – but there is so much that it’s hard to chose. There is value in having someone doing the choosing.

I signed up for a month and when I got the box I quickly cancelled. I think the jewelry is cheap looking, the stones look nice in the pics but are all plastic. One of the necklaces that I got look so bad that the plastic have bubbles in them and a couple of the surface was not even flat. You can tell they are plastic. Plus there are a lot of rough edges, it catches your sweaters, hair etc and scratches your neck. To me, they are just flea market quality. I like costume jewelry from Brighton(.com), they are more expensive, but the quality is much better. I guess I should not even be comparing them.

AliExpress also has a lot of vendors that steal stock images from other brands/producers/etc. and make shoddy copies :/

It’s kind of tempting to see things I like in sub box reviews and then search them out on AliExpress. I haven’t ordered from them before but I would totally wait 3-4 weeks for shipping if I am only paying $2 or $3 for something.

I think many complaints are from people who just don’t realize how long it takes to get the items. Most merchants are pretty explicit about it, but you need to make sure you look. I live near a major port in the West Coast, and items take 2-6 weeks to get here, and some merchants don’t ship right away (they usually say how long they take for processing).

I do make sure to shop from merchants that have at least 95% rating. But yes, it’s a gamble, but the stuff is so cheap I don’t mind making it. Plus then I forget what I ordered and I get all these little envelopes in the mail 🙂

I actually only discovered Ali Express after someone in a comment in this blog said they’d seen a jewelry piece from a subscription box there 🙂

AmyM

I was tempted to order from Ali Express, but after reading a lot of negative reviews from people about not receiving their orders and fraud on their credit cards after ordering, I decided any potential savings just aren’t worth it.

Sara

I signed up because of the spoiler, but the necklace looks a lot bigger to me in person. I think it’d be prettier on a smaller chain with the pendant being smaller too.

I know zero about this sub box. Do you keep what you want and send the rest back?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

No, they don’t have any return policy as far as I know.

Very excited for it to arrive. I’ve been really happy with this sub. Just resubscribed for another 3 months.

I am super excited to receive this month’s box. I am finding myself drawn to them more than wantables. I like that they send collection and everything flows together nicely. I really like the turquoise and yellow gold they are sending. They are right on trend. The abalone piece will be a treasure for years to come.

This was my first box ever – signed up because of the spoiler. My Aria pendant chain was linked in several places – looks like yours was too! I can’t figure out how to straighten it out

I just pulled a little on both sides of the kink at the same time, and that fixed it for me.
