Wantable Fitness is a fitness styling subscription service (similar to Stitch Fix). You fill out an in-depth survey about your fitness clothing preferences, and your stylist picks out items for you.

The fee for this service is $20 a month, and that fee goes toward whichever items you choose to keep. If you keep 3 or 4 items you also get a 20% discount, and if you keep all 5 items you get a 30% discount.

Wantable sent me this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Info

Here is my order invoice. The merchandise total is $372 and the keep-all discount is $111.60, so factoring that in plus the $20 credit, this box would cost $260.40 to keep all five items. (Roughly $52.80 an item).

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Preferences

These are my preferences for the Fitness subscription.

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Tank

Colosseum Circuit Tank in Red Ruby - Cost to Keep $59

I really like this tank. It has thick, padded straps, which makes it a more comfortable than some of my workout tops with thin straps. It has a built-in bra with removable cups, moisture wicking technology, and the stripe under the bra is mesh to give you a little more ventilation.

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Leggings

Colosseum Perfect Fit Training Leggings - Cost to keep $69

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Red Stripe

I love the red stitching detail on these leggings. (I tend to always grab black bottoms for workouts, but I like them to have a little design).

And these leggings have a zipper pocket at the back:

These leggings are high-compression (a good thing for me), and the fabric is lightweight/thin too. (AKA - motivation for me to workout more so I look better in them!)

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Hoodie

Luxe Transition Hoodie - Cost to Keep $125

I actually received this hoodie before in the first Wantable Fitness box I reviewed. (I wouldn't hold the duplicate item against Wantable since that box was sent for review purposes a while ago. If this was a continuing subscription I was paying for I would definitely reach out to customer care though).

This is a great hoodie - and it's one of those pieces if I saw online I would say there's no way it is worth $125, but after trying it on, it was hard to take off! It's a thick fabric, and it somehow manages to be amazingly cozy/comfortable and also flattering.

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 Red Hoodie

Climawear Seamless Nordic Hoodie in Red - Cost to Keep $50

I'm pretty torn on this item. I suspect it ended up in this box since it looks like they were going for a black/red theme (which I appreciate). However, this is the type of item I would expect to receive in a November or December box - not an April one!

Seasonal issues aside, I love the idea of a festive/seasonal workout top - I don't have anything like it. And it's very comfortable, and I love how the neckline on the hoodie drapes.

Colosseum Metric Elite Sprint Legging - Cost to Keep $69

Wantable Fitness Subscription Service Review – April 2015 White Black Leggings

The bold print on these leggings is fun, but with the white fabric you have to pick your underwear wisely! It has the same back pocket too:

Verdict: In past Wantable Fitness boxes, I had difficulty finding some of the items for sale online, and wondered if they were older stock. (Since this is a full price subscription, I want everything to be new stock). I'm happy to see that with this box, 4 out of the 5 items are in stock online at the full prices listed by Wantable. (The Colosseum Metric Elite Sprint Leggings even show up on Colosseum's New Arrivals Section).

I think this subscription is for someone who wants the convenience of trying on items at home with a super easy returns process and would also value the opportunity to discover new workout clothing brands. It's a specific demographic, but I think Wantable has been improving these boxes over the past few months to offer a better service. I like that my recent boxes have had a color coordinated feel to them, and I hope to see all items in future boxes available online at full retail prices - that makes it feel like a much better value if you decide to keep several items to get the 20-30% discount.

I have that exact Climawear Nordic Hoodie. I got it at TJ Maxx this past winter for about $25. That fact makes me very concerned about what Wantable is doing with this subscription.

That said, I thought all the items were cute.

I’m canceling this subscription once I receive my April box. They charged me for it on March 30 and I still have not gotten any shipping for it or heard anything about it (except that they charged me!). I will be emailing them tomorrow to ask what’s taking so long and I know the answer will be “We are trying to find the perfect fitness items for you under the price point that you have picked out.” Yeah I may have checked to go the lowest on each category but they should have stuff for each price point already since they don’t have a set date that they mail out boxes and should be mailing these out all of the time. They should be able to just look at a person’s profile, see what they like/want, stick it in a box and ship it out! I’ll just stick to stopping at Marshalls or Target to get my workout clothes from now on.

I would send the nordic one back. It is not the time of year for it.

Maybe I’m not the majority here, but I don’t wear underwear with workout pants! For one, good workout pants are built with a crotch gusset. And underwear lines are no good in workout pants! Maybe it’s because I design training clothes for a living, but underwear just isnt necessary. Those black and white pants are awesome!

Absolutely no way would I pay that much for workout clothes. I can get same quality cheaper at Nordstroms.
