Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway

GlossyBox has a new limited edition box for Mother's Day. This is a one-time purchase and you can still buy one as of today. (You can also get one for free if you sign up for an annual subscription and use the coupon code below).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

I also bought a box not knowing I'd be getting one for review - so I'm giving it away to one lucky reader. Make sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post!

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Items

The Box: GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother’s Day Box

The Cost: $40

The Products:

  • Vichy ProEven Daily Dark Spot Corrector
  • Vince Camuto Bella Rollerball
  • Fusion Beauty Lip Fusion InFATuation in Pucker Up
  • Orogold 24K Bionic Complex Thermal Mask
  • Laura Geller Inkcredible Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Brown Eyed Girl
  • Bodyography Cream Eye Shadow in Shimmer

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Bella

Vince Camuto Bella Rollerball - Value $22

This is a light and fresh floral scent - and I think the packaging and the fragrance are perfect for a Spring box. Here is the official description since I'm somewhat terrible at describing perfume scents:

Bella celebrates allure, passion and sensuality. Nectarine blossoms, Italian bergamot, and jasmine water against the sultry base of white amber create the vibrantly warm, intoxicating bouquet that is Bella. This sparkling, floral fruity fragrance captures the seduction of beauty.

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Vichy

Vichy ProEven Daily Dark Spot Corrector - Value $45

I've been using this for a few days and so far I like the formula. It's paraben-free and designed to be gentle on sensitive skin. I love how quickly the formula absorbs and the smooth finish it leaves for applying makeup. The only drawback I have with this product is that it is scented. The fragrance isn't too strong, but in general I prefer my moisturizers/serums/etc. to be fragrance-free.

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Lip

Fusion Beauty Lip Fusion InFATuation in Pucker Up - Value $29

This lip gloss gives a ton of shine and a good amount of color without any stickiness. It really starts tingling as soon as you put it on. I had it on for about 5 minutes before I decided to wipe it off. It's not that the tingling was irritating, but it was a little distracting!

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Liner

Bodyography Cream Eye Shadow in Shimmer - Value $20

I wasn't too impressed with this eye shadow. It's a cream pink base with shimmery powders added on top. The copper shimmer is highly pigmented, but the pink cream beneath was giving me very little pigment, so it won't be useful to me after I use up the pigmented powder on the top.

Laura Geller Inkcredible Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Brown Eyed Girl - Value $20

I found this eyeliner to be super easy to apply - it glides on beautifully and stays put too.

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Orogold

Orogold 24K Bionic Complex Thermal Mask - Value $298

That's not a typo - this mask retails for $298! I would never pay that much for a mask, but it is nice to try the full-size version for a very small fraction of the cost.

Limited Edition Mother’s Day GlossyBox Review + Giveaway! Open

I know from reading comments on the March GlossyBox review that Orogold has a not-so-great reputation when it comes to sales and fake reviews, but the products themselves seem fine. I gave this mask a try for 10 minutes. (You're supposed to leave it on for 15, but I get antsy with masks). It's just like a cream/lotion mask, and you massage it onto your skin, leave it there for the allotted time, then rinse it off. I like that it doesn't have any scent, and it seemed gentle enough, but I didn't notice a big difference in my skin after removing it. (Maybe it is for the best - I don't need to fall in love with a $300 an ounce mask!)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $434 - even without the $298 retail value form the mask, I think it is a great value for a $40 box. My favorite discovery in this box is the Vichy ProEVEN, and the eyeliner is a great staple too.

Got mine today, the Orogold leaked a little. Nothing is damaged, but it’s always a little disappointing to open a greasybox. It’s something you might want to double check if you are gifting the box. Otherwise, very nice box, I will be splitting it up for gifts.

I got mine in yesteday. The box wasn’t sealed on the outside and when I opened the Glossybox the paper was ripped up and the Orogold outer-ring was unset and it had leaked all over and through the bottom of the box. I was able to save the everything else bc it just ruined the boxes the products came in, it took a while to clean everything off bc the gold dust got into everything. I took a picture and emailed them, so fingers crossed, I really wanted to try the Orogold out.

I emailed them as well and they asked for photos which I took while I was opening. The whole bottom of my box was a grease stain as well and the glitter from the eyeshadow also escaped and was stuck to the greasy substance on some of the boxes and packaging. I’m waiting to hear back after I sent the photos.

Mary

Yes, my Orogold leaked too. I’d guess about $50 worth of it gone right off the bat, lol! Like Liz, I hope I don’t fall in love with such an expensive mask. I’ll try it tonight and see. 🙂 I like the Laura Geller pencil, the Vince Camuto fragrance (his Amore is great too!) and the LipFusion plumper (I’ve got another one of those in a different color, this one is prettier). The only miss for me is the eyeshadow cream, which I will give away or eBay. Overall, good value for $40.

Mine leaked as well, everything was a little greasy. It’s pretty disappointing when the “300$” item leaks.

I’d love to try the dark spot cream! With this pregnancy I’ve developed tons of new freckles so I need to do something about it after my baby arrives. Fingers crossed and thanks for the giveaway!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

I think freckles are cute, but if you have more than you want, there’s a good chance yours will recede naturally after the baby comes once your hormones rebalance. That’s what happens with melasma (the so-called “mask of pregnancy”) so perhaps your pregnancy-induced freckles are similar.

But freckles are cute!

I am still waiting on my Birchbox Lovely Day box.. got it free with my points and a promo code! Yey me… I would love to get the Mother’s Day Glossy Box but really on the fence about it. I did enter your contest to try to win it. I would like to thank you for giving us the chance of winning your extra box. You know a lot of people would not have done that ..just kept it all for themselves..so really thank you. Patty

I really really want this box….do i give in to temptation or hope i win?? Decisions, decisions…

Laura

I like almost everything in this box!

Sarah.

I really wanted this box and was hoping they would have it for half off, like the Christmas one. I just want it for myself through, there is really nothing in it that my mom would like. I definitely think its geared towards younger women, buying a mothers day gift for themselves. I would love to have it though so fingers crossed for either winning the contest or it going on sale !

Very unimpressed with this box. I’m not a fan of the Orogold brand, the moisturizer samples in the last glossybox were super greasy & made my skin break out. I feel like they just put this in to increase the price of the box & make it seem like a good deal. I’m also not impressed with the citation of this box- doesn’t seem “mom” appropriate. Pass!

Idk if anyone else on here has the app tophatter, but I see the orogold products on there a lot. It’s an auction app so people go crazy over those products thinking they’re getting a great deal paying 100 if it’s marked down from 500. I don’t know who would actually pay 500 for that and honestly I’m super surprised it’s in the box. I love everything else though, so totally worth it!

Do you know when these will start shipping? Mine hasn’t yet. I live on the west coast and I hope it ships soon to get it in time for Mother’s day.

Reply ButtonReply

Patti

I received mine yesterday, May 2nd. I never received a shipping notice email. I never even received an email confirmation that I ordered the damn box. Good ol’ Glossybox! Orogold and Bodyography were spilled out over the entire contents of the box. No plastic wrap on either.

Kecia

They are shipping the beginning of the month according to a Facebook comment. Their website says to order by April 27th to ensure shipping by May 1st for delivery before Mother’s Day! 🙂

I imagine this box is geared towards people who have young mothers. Mine is over 70 and she wouldn’t use eye liner, lip gloss or shiny eyeshadow.

Reply ButtonReply

Kenya

After I’ve clicked on all of my entries for the giveaway how are they submitted? It just stays on the same screen.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenny

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like the curation of this box. The rollerball is the only thing I find of any personal value. Everything else is either inflated in price or a brand/product I’m not excited to try.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

There’s nothing in this box for me (or my mom) either. Very bland.

Reply ButtonReply

Brooke

Agree. Not tempted by this even though I have loved other glossybox LE’s. The perfume looks nice (I should get on the swap!) but the lippie, shadow, and liner do not appeal, and the ludicrously overpriced mask is really most of the RV. (Serious question: Does anyone anywhere pay that for this mask, or is it all fake reviews and sub box giveaways?)

I’m happy to NOT want a box though! 😀

The way Oro Gold works is that they price their items at extremely inflated prices. They have a bunch of stores at high end malls and Vegas and when you pass by they lure you in by giving you a sample and then demonstrating the items on you. Then the hard sale begins and it’s just as bad as time share presentations, they both praise you and insult you, shame you and they keep bringing down the prices (“today only”, “give you my employee discount”). They show you the inflated retail prices on their website so you think you get a bargain by buying that mask for $150, and don’t stop to think that no mask is worth that. And, of course, they are told that they can return the products. But the receipts – which they fold before they give you – say “no returns” and when people try to return the items they can’t.

I didn’t fall for it but I wrote about my experience with the hard sale on my blog, and since then dozens of people from all over the world have reported the same techniques used.

Lizz

Thanks for sharing your review! I just got my Birchbox Lovely Day and I cannot wait to get my Mother’s Day Glossybox!!!

I know for sure I’m going to swap the perfume and eyeshadow, but the rest of it I’m excited about.
