GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – February 2015 Salt

Boca Java Javanica Ground Coffee - (Sampler) Value $2.50

Natierra Fair Trade Pink Salt (Fine) - Value $6?

This ground coffee isn't labeled with a size, but looking at their site it looks like the 2 oz sampler pack. (It smells amazing).

Lately, I feel like I've been reading more and more recommendations to swap out table salt with pink salt, (usually Himalayan), so I'm happy with this InkaSalt addition to the box!

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – February 2015 Sugar

LaFaza Pure Madagascar Bourbon Ground Vanilla - 1 oz Value $12

Big Tree Farms Organic Coconut Palm Sugar (3 Packets) - Value $.50?

This vanilla is made with just 100% Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans. It smells amazing will be perfect to blend with coffee or for baking.

This sugar is new to me, and I really like it - the taste is fantastic. It's also popular on Amazon thanks to it being naturally low on the glycemic index.

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – February 2015 Ceramic

Greenheart Sobremesa Hand Painted Spice Tagine - Value $13

This covered pinch pot for spices is available in four different colors, so I'm guessing there will be variation in this item with subscribers. I was happy to read this about the product materials: "The glazes used are 100% lead and cadmium free, making this products safe for both the artisans who create them and your home."

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – February 2015 Towel

Greenheart Handwoven Kitchen Towel - Value $14.50

This kitchen towel is made with 100% cotton, and measures 24" x 30". It's a very practical item for me, so while it isn't too exciting, it will get used a lot, and I like adding more fair trade items to my home!

Verdict: The value of this box is about $49 (and that's not counting the value of the basket the items come in). I really like that this box included fair trade food items in addition to home items - it is a perfect mix for the kitchen theme.

What do you think of the February GlobeIn box?

I loved this box! I received a pink basket which I gave to a co-worker who loves pink, the blue verison of the kitchen towel and the green tagine (my favorite color!). I got my box on Pancake Day, so I used the vanilla. Man that stuff is potent! I tried the coconut sugar in my tea, but it gave it a funny taste and smell. I’ll have to try it in baking instead. Unfortunately I had to take a little break from this sub (saving up for a big trip in a couple months), but I’ll be back!

This was my first box, and I loved everything about it! I’m really excited to try the vanilla and the coconut sugar. I have a keurig, so the coffee won’t be Brewed…but I’m totally into essential oils as of late, and maybe I can use the coffee in a scrub! I love the amazing handmade items! The towel is huge! It will def get use. The dish is small and adorable, and I think I’m gonna put the salt in it. I can’t wait to see what next month holds!

This was my third month with Globein and definitely my favorite. My family will use everything in this box. We got lucky and received a green tagine and yellow towel, which both match our kitchen.

Talk about customer service! I was already convinced I wanted to sign up for this, now I do even more!

Liza

Liz, thank you for the review!

We are thrilled that Kitchen Box is such a success even despite the tajine accident in some cases. Our goal is to delight our customers and that’s what we tried to do with the “proactive email”.

nana, we are doing our best to make sure that you’ll love our next box 🙂

Important note: KITCHEN coupon will give you $8.75 Off (not $7.50)

I loved this box! I have my little tangine filled with the Inka salt sitting on my counter for cooking! Cant wait to use the vanilla. This box was an amazing value to me. I love every item and it feels great knowing that the price helps support artisans practicing their trade. Cant wait for my next one!

This month’s box wasn’t really for me. I didn’t really want food items – or I’d subscribe to a food box – though I am looking forward to trying the vanilla and the sugar. The latter is supposed to have a low glycimic index, so it may be a good alternative for diabetics.

The kitchen towel is cute, but the tagine is sort of blah for me. Now, if it had been an actual tagine, I would have been super excited.

I unsubscribed but I will keep an eye on spoilers and subscribe again when they have a box that I really like.

Love mine!!! I got the blue tagine and yellow towel, very happy. This company has fantastic customer service, and I love everything in the basket.

FYI Ground vanilla is about twice as potent as vanilla extract, so if you are substituting the ground for the extract, use half.

My colors were also different than those above. This was my first box, and I enjoyed it. I look forward to trying new things, and the quality of the non-edible items was good.
Something I really appreciated was that I received an email from Customer Service the day after I had received my box. It said that some had received damaged tagines and that they wanted to make it right. If I happened to be one of these unlucky recipients, please contact them and they would send me a replacement. I liked the proactive customer service approach. Well done!

Christine, I completely agree with you about the email from Genna at GlobeIn about the tagine. In the two years that I have been subscribing to various boxes, this is the first I’ve received of its kind. It definitely says a lot for the company and their willingness to fix a problem quickly once discovered and cater to their customers needs.
That being said, I love the presentation of this box which begins with a beautiful basket. I like that it has a lid and can stand on its own, but it’s still malleable enough to put different sizes and shapes of things inside. I guess I got the ultimate trifecta – a green basket, green tagine and a dish towel with green thread detailing. Anyway, I could go on and on about this sub. It is a steal with the coupon code. I really think anyone from a cook to a world traveler will love this box!

I love this box! l got a green tagine, so it matches my kitchen towel. I’m going to use everything in the box minus the coffee. I think I’m going to keep this sub for a while 😀

Liz! Just make sure you are getting enough iodine before you swap out that table salt for good. You don’t want to get the gout! Or a sluggish thyroid!

Thanks for the heads up! 🙂

Looks like a good box. I love the basket too, and I definitely think there’s some value in that.

It looks like the pink salt sells on their site for $31? Your value might be more accurate. From what I’ve read, salt is salt. Some have tiny amounts of different trace minerals, but aren’t superfoods or anything.

I love this subscription! And this month I love everything in the basket! It is so awesome to get! This is one subscription I refuse to cancel! It introduces a person to many different products from around the world and the culture of the people creating them. Love, love, love it!!!!
