BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the products included.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Mask

Mullein & Sparrow Facial Mask - 1 oz Value $15

This is a powder mask you mix with water to form a paste. It doesn't say how long you have to leave it on, but just enough to let it completely dry then wash it off. It's made with all organic ingredients so I can't wait to try it. (And the packaging is just beautiful!)

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Lip

Jing Ai Velvet Shine Lip Jewel in Pink a Boo - FULL SIZE! Value $22

This lip crayon is moisturizing and provides a lot of pigment. The pigmentation would be good if I had received a different shade, but this Pink a Boo looks almost neon on my lips!

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Brush

Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush - Value $15

Mistura Beauty Solutions C-2-P Complexion Corrector - FULL SIZE! Value $30

This makeup brush is well made - the brush is super soft, and none of the strands came off when I was testing it out.

This concealer is designed to apply like a cream and turn into a powder finish. I tried it as an overall concealer and as an undereye concealer. For me, it is best suited for under eyes, and this tone works well to counter my dark circles. Most under eye concealers have a bit of a cream shine to them, so after applying I have to put powder over them. With this formula, it is instantly matte - which I love. I just tried this out, so I haven't given it the all-day test to see if it stays in place, but if it does - it will be my new favorite under eye concealer!

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – February 2015 NCLA

NCLA Nail Lacquer in Heart Attack -FULL SIZE! Value $16

I may prefer this over the Julep Hartleigh top coat that was in GlossyBox and Julep this month -  I love that it is just pink and red hearts.

Verdict: Aside from the lip crayon, I'll use everything in this box. The total retail value of this box is about $98. I'm always impressed with the value Boxycharm delivers each month. (When it comes to value, they are one of those I-don't-know-how-they-do-it boxes like Little Lace Box). I also really like the brands they featured this month.

The one issue I see with this box is that the concealer is skin tone specific. I imagine it could work as a highlighter or contouring stick, but it isn't the same as being able to use the product how it was intended.

What do you think of the February 2015 Boxycharm box?

Anyone notice that since Boxycharm gave everyone 3000 charms for the broken concealer that there has been nothing on the site to redeem your charms for?? I’ve emailed them twice about it and not gotten a response.

My 1st Boxycharm box and I love it! I’m not sure I’ll use the polish, but it won’t go to waste. I like the brush, my fingers are crossed on the mask and even if the color of the lip crayon is not for me I’m excited to try it. I’m looking for something that keeps its color longer than an hour.

My concealer was also damaged, it was broken up. I emailed the company right away. It took a day & half, but they got back to me with a great resolution. They’ve given me 3,000 charms ($30) to spend in their store. Said they didn’t want to risk sending me another damaged consealer. Also gave me a tip that I could scrape the product into a little make up tub and still use it with a brush. Win-win! So glad I signed up!

This was my very first Boxycharm, and I was extremely disappointed with the items included this month. Before subscribing, I did a ton of homework on this site so that I could narrow down the boxes that give the best quality, full-size/deluxe size products. The products they included this month were a waste. They might as well have included a bottle of clear nail polish, because that’s basically all you get when you apply the NCLA polish. The lip crayon was insanely pigmented – it’s a pretty color, but it is not a color I could pull off and the concealer came damaged. I do love the face mask and the make-up brush. I felt the value of the box was right on, but the products were not personally to my taste. I’m interested to see what they send for March, and am hoping that I enjoy the products more than I did February’s box. We will see…

This was the most disappointing Boxy Charm box I have received but I didn’t hate the box and I still feel it’s worth the $21 a month. First, I didn’t get my box until yesterday which is March so that was a bit disappointing.
Second, my concealer ALSO came damaged and I didn’t realize it was an issue till I followed this comment thread. The thing that most irritated me is that my actual box was undamaged and the concealer lid was securely fastened and there was already product on the outside of the container. The product had even gotten onto some of the packing and other boxes. I opened the lid carefully and dumped the broken stick in my hand and it had debris on it! It was so gross I will definitely NOT be using this product.
I have emailed BoxyCharm regarding the issue and have yet to receive a reply but I’m going to give them a few days as it seems many people are having this issue. What is most frustrating is that it is obvious to me that the item was packed and shipped in the condition I received it- this didn’t happen in shipping.
Regarding the nail polish- eh. I agree with the comments above you get like 2 hearts per swipe so it’s not very good for applying the confetti. I would suggest globing some onto tin foil and using a toothpick to apply individual confetti pieces.
I definitely won’t be canceling my subscription over this but it is more frustrating to know a lot of people have experienced this issue.

This is my first box from BoxyCharm, and I’m really impressed so far!

I really like the concealer and I always love getting new makeup brushes, so those are both big wins for me. Even though Valentine’s Day is over, I’ll still use the heart nail polish for something cute on my toes. I received the Raspberry Ice lip shade – I usually prefer to wear pinks, but this is nice to change my look up a bit for something different.

I doubt I’ll get much use out of the face mask, but I LOVE the packaging and will probably use it for decoration in my bathroom.

Overall, a huge win! I hope they keep up the great work.

Loved the mask! Wow my face was so soft after using it. I then put on the face oil I received from my ipsy bag and it felt like a great pampering for my dry skin.

Also wanted to mention that while bright pinks usually do work on me, Liz’s description of NEON PINK was spot on. Don’t think I’ll be getting much use out of that unless I try and tone it down with a darker lip liner?

Vanessa Solis

I will trade you lippy colors! I got Rasperry which is like red, i wanted the neon pink…. trades, anyone??? 🙂

April

I JUST got my box today. Loved the polish I did a cute little pattern with the hearts on my thumb, the lip pencil I got was in Raspberry Ice not quite red but not too pink. I’ll probably get a little bit of use out of it. The concealer I’m not sure about, when I gave it a quick test out on my hand it was VERY yellow toned. All I have left to try is the brush and the mask which I can do this evening. All in all it was a pretty good box I think.

Seems like quite a nice selection for $21!

Really great box. Although my concealer came damaged, I hope they will send me a new one.

Reba

Mine came damaged too. I emailed boxycharm telling them this, and they are mailing me a new one AND they gave me 3000 charms!

Mel

I really hope they send you a replacement. 🙁 Let us know!

Annette

Mine came damaged too! 🙁

Patti

Mine too! Was broken right off.

Jess

Mine too! I emailed them and asked for a replacement. I’m hoping they come through because it’s almost impossible to use this stuff when the product isn’t connected to the tube. I tried it with a brush and it doesn’t work. You really need to apply it straight to the face.

amber

I stand corrected! The concealer covered my college student understeer circles very nicely, and really did have a powder feel. I may actually use this regularly! I got the crayon in that pink, and it’s nowhere near my comfort zone, but I may actually find a way to tone it down. The matte finish it has is it’s only savior. If it was that pink, and glossy? No way! The mask will get used tomorrow in celebration of writing an essay in four hours. Haven’t used the brush yet, but I’m not sure what it’s for. It looks too big to be an eyeliner smudger…

This is going to be my first boxycharm and ngl, that typo on the info card has already got me doubting. Not excited about the concealer, as i am etnic, and even if i wasn’t, i don’t use concealer or foundation, or anything like that. I live in az, that stuff’ll just melt right off! The nail polish is a win, as i love any and all nail polish. the mask looks interesting, as i’ve only ever used prewet(?) mud masks. the brush will get used, but nothing thrilling to me. the lip crayon looks fun, but if it has a lipsticky feel then no thanks, lol. Really hoping this sub works out, as it’s more then twice the cost of my other sub, and paying the 210 bucks upfront was a bit painful.

Liz… I LOVE the color of lip crayon you received, I’ve been looking for pretty much that exact shade for a couple of weeks. If I get a color that’s wearable for you, maybe we can swap??

Norton

I will sap mine with you! Not even touched!

Unfortunately, I sampled it for the review so it is used, but I’m sure there will be a lot of them up on swaps! 🙂

The lip product is my favorite item in the month. I received a reddish raspberry shade that is (amazingly) the perfect red for me, so I’m very happy with it! The polish is cute but I don’t think it will get much use.

This was my first Boxycharm and I was bit disappointed. I actually liked my $10 ipsy better this month!

Firstly, my Mistura C2P Complexion Corrector came damaged (the product has basically detached from the tube). So that was a bummer.

But the kicker for me was– the nailpolish is HORRIBLE! Have any of you guys actually tried it?!! I was so excited about the hearts and I would happily rock them ALL YEAR LONG…the problem is–it took about 5 coats for me to even get one or two hearts on my nail. At that point my nails were tacky, smudged, and looked like crap. WHY WOULD NCLA EVEN MAKE THIS?!

But I do love the mask and the lip product (I got it in Rasberry Ice and the formula is amazing…pigmented and it stains the crap out of my lips for an all-day stay!) and the brush is okay as well.

I emailed customer service and asked for a replacement Mistura so we shall see. It could determine whether or not I give it another month.

I understand that for $21 it is a good collection of stuff but…I’m just no completely sold yet!

I got the same shade as yours and am so excited until I see that it is made in China. I think boxycharm is a good value, but I only get one or two items out of the box, the rest goes to gift.

Sara

I’m most excited for the cleanser in this box, it reminds me of S.W. Basics. I don’t like the nail polish at all, but I’m not into cutesy hearts and things. The concealer I’m kinda of eh about, I have yet to find a super great concealer. My favorite was from Merle Norman that they discontinued a few years ago.

Patti

Ugh, I am so tired of the bright pink lip colors I receive in my beauty boxes! They look good on nobody except maybe Nicki Minaj. This box is a total lose for me except maybe the concealer.

Twommy

Amen, Sister! Enough with the Pink!

Cari

I love the box, but still hasn’t arrived to me yet :-/. For Valentine’s I used the Julep hear polish but I think this one is better as it doesn’t have any glitter in it, just hearts.

Brooke

Nice box! Looking at it makes me want to re-sub, but I am trying to remind myself that I don’t actually need another mask or lippie or polish. We’ll see how long that lasts!!! 🙂

Dang, I want this box. I cancelled for last month because of my allergy. Will have to see if I can still get it. This is a good box.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica M.

I think this looks like a great box, I just wish they had the nail polish in last month’s box since most subscribers won’t get it before valentine’s day.

Reply ButtonReply

Terri

I was thinking the same thing about getting the nail polish last month. I haven’t received my box and it is after Valentine’s Day. What am I going to do with the nail polish when I get it? It would have been a good trade if received last month.
