GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Jan 2015 Box

GoodeBox is a natural and organic beauty box. I’ve been subscribing for half a year now, and I’ve found that they usually have a good mix of  products.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Jan 2015 Eslor

Eslor Botanical Peeling Gel - 15 ml Value $9.50

Jillian Wright Skincare Mitoenergy Youth-Enhancing Moisturizer- 10 ml? Value $19

Green Leaves and Co. Organic Facial Oil - Travel Size Value $7.50

This peeling gel is supposed to help refine pores and brighten skin tone. (You apply it on dry skin for 5-10 minutes, rub skin in a circular motion, then rinse with warm water).

This Jillian Wright moisturizer is a pretty pricey skincare item ($95 for the full sized 50 ml version). So far, I've only used it twice so I can't comment on any major skin differences yet, but I like how lightweight it is.

This Green Leaves and Co. Organic Facial oil is made with coconut oil, plus rosemary, basil, and thyme oil - it smells like a delicious Italian pasta dish! I think it works great as an hand/body oil as well.

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Jan 2015 Bag

Della Travel Bag - Value $24

Every so often I like to change up my makeup bag, and this one is beautiful, plus it comes from a great company:

Della is a Los Angeles-based fashion line that is changing the way people shop. We are a woman-owned and woman-run business working directly with a community in West Africa, providing jobs, education and skills training to our employees. We are driven by awareness of the need for a global market that provides socially-responsible, quality products. We are not a charity; we are a business done – and doing – “right.”

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Jan 2015 Soap

Soapbox African Black Soap - FULL SIZE! Value $5

Soapbox is another product and company I really like. For every bar of soap purchased, they donate one bar of soap, vitamin supplements, or fresh water to a child in need. Plus their soaps are made with all natural ingredients!

Verdict: I thought this was a nice box to kick off the new year - lots of healthy skincare items, and some charitable companies featured as well! The value is really high too - about $65! (The Jillian Wright and Green Leaves skincare products were not marked with sizes, so I estimated the sizes and therefore the values, so that total box value estimate may be a little off).

What do you think of the January GoodeBox?

Liz, I see that the oil you received is for acne prone skin. Would that be in keeping with your profile? Thanks.

I received the Marigold Fields face cream from Earthwise Beauty instead of the Green Leaves face oil and it is amazing! So moisturizing but not greasy, just what I need for the winter. A new favorite!

Thank you for another great review Liz and it’s great to see the comments here too. Thank you for so many kind words and helpful feedback. We’re working every month to improve the service so if you’re a member, please also take the surveys we send and drop us a line with requests, feedback, etc.

To clear up any confusion here, the Della bag is indeed the travel bag, not the coin purse, however this batch was made just for us without the leather accents 🙂

Cheers,

The Goodebox Team

This is a box where I sometimes like it and most times am ambivalent. However, I did love their LE box and their November box. I ended up ordering three November boxes for gifts and eagerly await the next LE box (scheduled for April). I always read these reviews, though, just in case it will be a must-have box!

I may just have to subscribe to this box, I have like most of the past few months (and have one off ordered a few of them.)

I’m glad I resubscribed. The soap smells wonderful and the bag is cute. The face oil is great product. I do wish the sample was a bit bigger. I liked the sample so much I want to purchase the full size of this product. Goodebox is one of the only boxes that seems to have an every other month option. This works perfect for me. I wish more box companies offered that option, so I can try different boxes, every other month

I actually wasn’t happy with this month’s box (I guess there were too many skincare products that I wouldn’t use and I don’t need another makeup bag, though it is from a good company!). I have my whole box up for swap if anyone is interested!

Liz, the bag we received is the “change purse” not the travel bag. This retails for $12, not $24 🙂

Andi

I got the larger sized travel bag (like Liz), and not the change purse you received. I wonder if they sent out both this month?

Corinne

I received the same bag as Liz. The large travel bag has a gold zipper and leather accents on the bottom… the small/coin purse does not.

Andi

I got the same box as you, and love every item included. I’ve already bought full sizes of the Eslor peeling gel and Green Leaves facial oil. Goodebox is such a terrific subscription, and a great way to find new natural beauty brands!

I agree – it’s a great sub! Best natural beauty box around.
