New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Box

New Beauty Test Tube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full size beauty samples and you also get a subscription to New Beauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general the value is usually incredible. (FYI – this is a different subscription from the QVC New Beauty Test Tube which ships every quarter).

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Info

Each New Beauty Test Tube comes with a booklet thoroughly detailing each product included.

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Votivo

Votivo Icy Blue PIne Candle Tin – FULL SIZE! Value $15

I got the exact same candle in the November box from 2013. I like scent and it's holiday appropriate - but I really wish they mixed up products/brands more. It's as though they aren't expecting anyone to subscribe for over a year. 🙁

(According to the pamphlet there are two options for this candle: Ice Blue Pine or Red Currant).

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Chi

Frizz Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme - 1.25 oz Value $1

Chi Silk Infusion - 2 oz Value $8

I avoid sulfates in hair products since my hair is color-treated, so I'll be passing this Frizz-Ease smoothing cream along to a friend. I'm excited to use the Chi Silk Infusion though since I use a hair straightener pretty much every day.

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Wipes

Klorane Make-Up Remover Biodegradable Wipes with Soothing Cornflower - FULL SIZE! Value $12.50

Revision Skincare Intellishade Broad Spectrum SPF 45 (Regular and Matte Samples) - Value $4?

I love that these wipes are paraben, alcohol and fragrance free! And most importantly - they work at removing my mascara!

I tried out the matte version of this intellishade tinted moisturizer. It doesn't provide much coverage at all, so I'd recommend it if you are looking for a barely-there BB Cream with SPF.

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Skincare

Dermalogica Precleanse - 1 oz Value $9.50

Donell Lip Saver SPF 15 - FULL SIZE! Value $7

I've been impressed with all the dermalogica products I've sampled so far, and I'm happy to have more precleanse! This lip balm brand is new to me. It's a very moisturizing lip balm which is great - but just not that exciting of a product.

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review – Nov 2014 Mally

Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Ice Blue - FULL SIZE! Value $15

A New Beauty Test Tube wouldn't be complete without a Mally product- right? I really wish they would use more brand variety in these boxes, but at the same time if I was new to this subscription I'd be very excited to see this product in the box - I've been impressed with all the Mally eyeliners, eye shadow pens, and liquid lipsticks I've tried thanks to New Beauty Test Tube!

(Subscribers will get this pencil one of the following colors: Sailor, Midnight, Onyx, Ice Blue or Starshine).

Verdict: This box has a value of a little over $70. It's almost double the cost - which is pretty good. I just really want to see them try out new brands in this box.

What did you think of the latest New Beauty Test Tube?

Terrible tube! Hard to call it a “test tube” if the sample are repeats from a year ago. The product sizes are a joke. I didn’t get the Revision products i my tube, but somehow I don’t think that’s what was really missing from this tube anyways.

Well, that’s the end of this! I received this box and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement!! I have received several of these items before and from the TT box too! I already have an eyeliner from Mally very similiar, the candles ok but I have received it before. And the hair stuff????? Anymore and my hair will be either weighted down in one big grease pit or in one big solid Afro stuck straight out from the scalp to the ends! I got on their site and cancelled as soon as I opened the tube. So disappointing. I am done with this Tube thing.

I’m very disappointed with this month’s tube. I received four of the same items I did from a previous month, which I wasn’t crazy over in the first the place. Another silver eyeliner from Mally? Another pine-scented candle? Not worth continuing subscription!

I used that Chi Silk Infusion for 2 years and it did wonders for my hair!! I constantly change hair color, from jet black to purple to red to blonde, and my hair is in great shape because of it.

The eye liner is awesome! The wipes look nice too. This would be a great tube if it was priced like boxycharm. But for $40 I need a box to do more than just double.

I’m so glad I cancelled after the last dismal box of junk. It’s like they stopped trying to even make an effort. Worst part is, they have all these amazing products shown in the magazine and not ONE seems to ever be in an actual tube. Lame!

I’m actually very disappointed with this box! Second box in a row where I’m not exactly happy. The Dermalogica Precleanse and mally eye pencil are the only 2 things I’m actually interested in seeing, but it’s definitely not worth my 40 bucks. My other boxes that are half the price of this subscription come with better high quality products. Time to cancel.

I love this box. Dermalogica, Mally and the face wipes! I am highly considering this! ! 🙂

I received Dermalogica from FFF and Chi both loved and of course Mally I love.

Btw Liz,

I saw the spoiler on Blush Mystery box Facebook and it is the same Julien Farrel conditioning treatment from a few months back. Do you happen to know the entire box contents yet before I decide to sign back up. I dislike the first spoiler so need to see more before deciding if I want the test tube or blush. You are usually the first to have info on the contents of Blush! 🙂

Thanks! 🙂

I’m new to sub boxes. If I got this box, I’d be really happy. I can see why people who get a lot of boxes might be disappointed, but for me, this would have been a win. I especially like the candle (since I don’t already have one) and the eyeliner.

I love that chi! It smells funky but good IMO ….. I love it! Otherwise this box kinda sucked!

I can’t believe how horrible this box is. Super disappointed. I’m so tired of getting hair stuff and I still haven’t used the Revision we got previously. And I already have about 100 candles. With the exception of the eyeliner, I feel like the other “Full Size” items were just to pad the box. I’m NOT “Wowed.”
