GlossyBox Subscription Box Review - November 2014 Box

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually deluxe-size or full size, and the value is usually really good too. The only issue with this box seems to be the late shipping – I would recommend just keeping that in mind and setting your expectations accordingly if you sign up for this box.

GlossyBox sent us this box for review purposes. (My Subscription Addiction also pays for this subscription, but I haven’t received a shipping notification email for my November box yet). (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

GlossyBox Subscription Box Review - November 2014 Info

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included.

GlossyBox Subscription Box Review - November 2014 OPI

OPI Nail Lacquer in Pink Outside the GlossyBox - FULL SIZE! Value $9.50

So Susan Cosmetics Universal Blush - FULL SIZE! Value  $23 (Glossybox lists the price as $23.29, and the So Susan website lists it at $27.95)

This nail polish shade was made for GlossyBox subscribers to match their signature pink subscription box. I love pale pink nail polishes (and have way too many) but I imagine some subscribers may be less excited about this item since they've been sending out a lot of nail polish lately.

The blush is mid-pigmented, so you don't have to worry about accidentally giving yourself super rosy cheeks in one brush stroke. It has a good amount of shimmer, and the color is very flattering. It may be my favorite discovery in the box!

GlossyBox Subscription Box Review - November 2014 Moisturizer

Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer - .5 oz Value $11.25

12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment - 1.5 oz Value $5

I've tried this Juice Beauty moisturizer before and I'm a fan so I'm happy to have more! And this 12 Benefits leave-in spray gets great reviews on Birchbox and is supposed to be really good for adding moisture and shine to hair.

GlossyBox Subscription Box Review - November 2014 Herbal

Kneipp Herbal Bath Balancing Lavender - 20 ml Value $4

This smells lovely and should be enough for 2 baths.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $54. I will use every item, and I'm happy with the value too). Unfortunately I know a lot of readers have had issues with their shipping times and customer care response time, so even though the box itself is a win for me, I'm really hoping they turn around their shipping issues soon. (Hopefully I get a shipping notification email for my paid subscription soon!)

Also worth noting - I reached out to GlossyBox to try to get answers regarding the late shipments of Mystery Boxes which were supposed to have been all delivered by now. They let me know that all mystery boxes have been shipped out as of today. If you haven't received your mystery box order yet I recommend reaching out to [email protected] to let them know - they should be able to give you a status update and hopefully some GlossyDots to make up for it.

I just got around to opening my box last week and I didn’t get the So Susan blush but instead a Glossybox brand that I received in a previous box. It was disappointing because that was the product that I was looking forward to the most!

Well, I finally received this box and I’m very disappointed. The blush was smashed, the 12 benefits was opened and leaked all over the box, and the lavender bath was opened and spilled everywhere. With the constant late shipping, no updates on tracking, and lost boxes while being shipped, I’ve had it with Glossybox and cancelled. I’m really surprised they’re still in business because every month has been a complete disaster with them.

I really love the way the 12 benefits smell and works amazing… However,
I cannot wait for the DECEMBER BOX!! They posted a spoiler on their Twitter feed, 4 FULL SIZE size luxury beauty products…box value $90!!
Ugh…I just wish these would ship earlier this month!
But holiday boxes are suppose to already start shipping…It took awhile to get throwbacks but I as over the moon when I received them!! Plus, in their FAQ it says they start shipping monthly boxes in the 3rd week…ugh…so no wonder they always seem so late!

I’m really disappointed with Glossybox lately and this box was really lackluster for me. Also, my blush came completely smashed as well and so far no answer from customer service (thanks for the tip about their fb contact!)
Also – anyone ordered the holiday limited edition box? I did and it’s been saying it’s in the “packing” phase for quite sometime. Just curious if anyone else is having that result…

I did but I only placed the order on Thursday (when I got the $20 off from the glitch). It moved from “pay” to “pack” pretty quickly. But I’m kind of used to waiting a long time for them to get moving at this point. (Though I won the Nails Inc. Fan Friday giveaway from Glossybox’s Facebook page and had that in hand TWO DAYS after I was notified that I won. Must’ve been a fluke.)

This is the first time I’ve been disappointed with Glossy Box. Usually I end up love most if not all of the products by this month was a complete miss for me.
Three of the products I have no use for at all. I don’t own a bathtub so heath oil is out. I only use one brand of skin care products so the moisturizer is out. I never wear pale pink polish so another useless product. The blush is alright. It’s a nice shade but I am not big on shimmer so I won’t have much occasion to use it. I do like the hair product but it’s not so great that I want to purchase it.
So I was not at all impressed with the November box but I know they can’t please everyone all the time so I’m ok with the occasional dud.

This box was their first complete bomb for me. The ONLY item I am keeping is the blush. The rest of it is up for swap. If next month’s box stinks, I won’t be renewing my quarterly subscription with them.

Got the November box today but no Alex and Ani bracelet. Based on others experience, I am not hopeful … Really upset.

Laurie

My bracelet came separately, I think on Tuesday. It’s much more delicate than I was expecting – the wire is very thin, unlike the usual Alex and Ani bracelets with the charms. My Nov box hasn’t shipped yet.

Jane

Thanks, I emailed them and they told me they were sold out of the bracelets in the promo. They said they have bracelets from last year and will send one of those. I am super disappointed that they didn’t tell me when I signed up as the bracelets were the reason that I was giving them a try. They should have immediately said bracelets were sold out and given me the option of getting an old bracelet or just cancelling. Instead they just sent the box hoping that I wouldn’t notice. I will cancel as soon as my three months are done – really disappointed in lack of communication.

Anne Shaw

I still haven’t gotten mine yet. But this box looks good.

My blush arrived totally smashed. (My co-worker’s did as well). Did anyone else have the same problem? Complaining to them via their website is pointless – because emails from their Contact Us page just bounce back. I finally just sent an email to [email protected] and at least got a notification. Maybe I should go the Facebook route. Let’s hope they resolve this soon. I’ve not had a good experience with their Customer Service. Which is sad because I really like their boxes. I do hope they figure out their customer service issues soon. That just makes me want to not continue my membership or upgrade to an annual subscription.

My blush is completely smashed too. This is the first time I received a damaged item. I don’t know what their policy is on this but I hope they will replace it with something

Reply ButtonReply

Abby

Mine came smashed too. I just emailed them, thanks for sharing the contact info!

Reply ButtonReply

Daisy

I’m shocked to hear how many people have been having issues with them! I’ve only ever had a damaged product or two, but it was immediately replaced. I can understand how frustrating that must be though, and I hope everyone gets their boxes soon!

Susan

I have two tickets open. One since last month and neither has been answered. My blush arrived smashed and I doubt it will be replaced based on their previous lack of response to my tickets.

It’s really too bad about Glossybox… I signed up last year for a full one-year subscription. That subscription is now about to run out after the November box ships to me, and it will be my last from them. I reached out to them three times with different issues (products damaged during shipping, late boxes, ect). Each time the response I received from their customer care team was mpre abrupt and dismissive than before. I love their products- each and every Glossybox I’ve gotten has been lovely and full of stuff I used. But their attitude towards their customers is the reason they will never get my money again.

Liz – they were not being truthful when they told you they had shipped out all the throwback boxes, because the three I ordered are still in the “pack” stage as well. After getting no response to the emails I have sent them, its useless to try and contact them again. I have been posting on their FB page and they did respond to a PM last week but all I got was a vague reply telling me sorry some boxes are delayed. No answer as to when they are expected to ship. I think because they know I am a subscriber already they are leaving mine for last. I’m pretty disgusted – even though I love their boxes for the most part, the hassle with them is just not worth it anymore when there are so many other boxes out there! I’m even more annoyed now to find they lied to you so you would post that they shipped everyone’s boxes when they obviously haven’t!

katie

I 100% agree with you! I loved their boxes but had so many issues with overcharges and late/flat out missing boxes that I cancelled. Their customer service is also atrocious. If you are lucky enough to get a response from them in the same year, they are pretty much useless and lied to me constantly. I cancelled and am so glad I did. It allowed for me to try a few other boxes that I actually like a lot better! Its just not worth all the hassle when there are so many great boxes with great customer service out there!!!

I think it is very telling that you have your bloggers box now but haven’t received shipping notification of the box you purchased as a customer.

I do hope everyone’s throw back boxes are on their way. This month’s box I like. Still not going to subscribe, but I do like all the items.

I forgot to mention that I surprised by the sizes of the Glossyboxes. I thought the box size was around the size of a Birchbox or a little bigger. It’s not. It’s much larger.

Sandy

I must be super lucky when it comes to Glossybox. Everybody has so many horror stories! I’ve been getting their boxes for about a year and they’ve been nothing but great! I get my box at the end of the month every month, last time I emailed they responded within 30 minutes and were very helpful, and I got my throwback boxes weeks ago. I get 6 subscription boxes and Glossybox is by far my favorite.

Talking about Birchbox, there is video with spoilers for December box!
I like this month glossybox and have feeling December will be amazing (already love the Nuxe spoiler + high value of the box)

cheryl

I got the 2 throwback boxes and wish I hadn’t nothing exciting in them.

This box looks pretty good, but I just go the 12 benefits in BB (it is good just ran out 🙁 ) I also got the Juice beauty in a BB before, nail polish I can do without as I get my nails done at a salon (although the color looks lovely) – I’m like BB better compared to all the other boxes for the price and points I’ve been getting myself full size items with discounts well worth having several beauty boxes. I have wavered with Birchbox over the years but recently bought the year subscription and am glad I did.

But – you can’t beat the actual Glossy Box – the box is beautiful.

Cindy

Which boxes did you get for your mystery boxes?

Reply ButtonReply

Catherine

I got both of my throwback boxes. One was the bazaar box and the other was the fourth of july one. I am excited to get this box. 🙂

Angela

I’m so excited to get this box.. no matter the issues people have been having.. Glossybox is my favorite out of the other boxes I get!

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

I haven’t gotten my throwback boxes yet either. They haven’t emailed me back either. I did get a shipping notification Saturday, but the tracking number doesn’t work. Hopefully something will show up on my doorstep.

This box looks great, but I thought we were given spoilers for burts bee lips and an eyeliner. The blush, bath stuff and leave in conditioner work for me, but I am curious why they changed.

anna

Those were spoilers for UK box.

Hi Liz,

Just FYI, I still haven’t received a tracking number from GlossyBox for my three mystery boxes. I just logged in to check my account and it still says they are in the “packing” stage. It’s been like that for two weeks. I have reached out to customer service several times but haven’t had any success.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I’ve had some success messaging them on Facebook, they actually seem to respond better there.

Reply ButtonReply

Birdie

Thanks, Sara, I will do that!

Sara

This just looks like yet another non-thrilling box for me. I like the blush, I hate pink nail polish, the lavender bath stuff, I won’t use, probably end up swapping everything else. I was going to hang with Glossybox through December, but I don’t know after this.
