Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Info

This month's box is the "Sassy and Spirited Party Box."

Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Sheet

The fold out sheet details each of the items included. (I appreciate that they include the retail value with each item since so many of these items aren't easy to find online).

And there is a recipe for Crispy Polenta Bites!

Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Glasses

Monogramed Wine Tumblers - Retail Value $36 total

There's no brand for these tumblers, but the info sheet says they were made by artisans in Pennsylvania Amish Country. (I really like that they included a personalized item for all subscribers).

Hand Stamped Cocktail Napkins - Retail Value $15

I'm stocked on cocktail napkins currently, but these will make a perfect hostess gift paired with a bottle of wine.

Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Straws

Chalkboard Coasters - Retail Value $5.45

The Original Party Straws - Retail Value $15

Little Lace Box loves using these coasters as party favors. (They also recommend getting a Chalk Pen to use with them instead of the chalk included).

Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Set

Farmhouse Fresh Fine Body Scrub in Sweet Cream -  Value $23

Little Lace Box Subscription Review & Coupon – Sept 2014 Spoon

Wow - this item made Oprah's O-List and the brand is carried by Anthropologie! I love that the scrub comes with a little spoon too. Plus of course the most important part - the scrub itself smells great (not overly sweet).

Verdict: This box is completely different than last month's box - and I love it. Since Little Lace Box is such a new subscription box I'm curious what direction they will go with themes down the road, and can't wait to see what's in the October box. I think this box is very well-curated and you can tell a lot of thought went into it. Some of the retail value prices for the items I can't find online may be a little inflated, but either way I think this box is a good value for the $39.99 price point.

What do you think of the latest Little Lace Box?

I too am a big fan of LLB. In addition to the sweet curation, personal touches, and indie designer products, the point system for writing reviews on the website is really generous. After reviewing the products I received in two monthly boxes, I had enough points to get myself another special treat for a steal. Love doing business with this company, and looking forward to November.

You are right, the points they offer are incredible! I got bonus points for my first box, a coupon for the first box, and enough points for reviewing that it brought the actual cost of the first box down to $9 ( after I buy something in the boutique, which I definately will!). If you haven’t subscribed yet, I would check out their loyalty program- it’s like Birchbox on a bigger scale!

Received the October box and was very impressed with the quality of curation! Would love to see pictures from those who received the clutch versus the cross-body bag, or anything else that was a variable item. I’ve got pictures of the items I received on my site. As for the price, I paid a little more than this cost for one of the Fancy boxes and haven’t gotten nearly the level of curation. Plus, everything is full-size and many of the items are from small businesses/artists which made me very happy! Really looking forward to future boxes! =o)

I finally was able to open my box last night! I received the Nancy Cross body bag. Very cute. As soon as I saw I pictured it with jeans, sweater, and boots which is exactly what the card suggested! I’m impressed with the quality of the bag. Can’t wait to Liz posts a review on this month’s box.

I’m excited about the next box especially since the theme is a line from a famous poem. I’m hoping it’s a pillow that is causing an oversize box to be used.

Hooray wasn’t it a great box. I received the same bag as u and cannot wait to use it!

I know I m hoping for a pillow too they some super cute ones in the little lace store that fit the theme. Fingers crossed

Just a note to say that the October Little Lace Box is SOLD OUT. We typically take orders for a specific month’s box throughout that month and ship until the last day of that month (if necessary), but this month’s sales were stellar, and unfortunately we are not able to continue to offer the October box. Subscription orders are now being taken for the November Little Lace Box. The November theme is “More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came.” It will include some really great thematic finds for you AND your home. It will also come in an ugly oversized box, because there are those times when we just can’t agree on what to eliminate from a box. We can always fight about it, but we did that the whole time we were growing up together. Sometimes it’s just easier to send a bigger box. Thank you for your support.

Eeeee my box is on its way so exciting! Congrats on a successful month. Love love the november theme so clever and cute. Thanks for the fun! I love that there are no spoilers for this box, as hard as I try not too I always end up looking at spoilers lol.

We love all of these comments and suggestions. Marketing is all about knowing your customer and working backwards towards your product, so you produce what you know your customer wants to buy. With that in mind, these comments are very helpful, and I just wanted to address a couple of things, so as to ensure that no one is harboring any misconceptions about Little Lace Box. We are not just a Fashion and Beauty box. If that is what you are looking for, then there are boxes that are a better fit for you than ours. We are a lifestyle box. As our website says, “Little Lace Box™ is a subscription service that delivers hand-curated, nearly impossible-to-find designer products directly to your doorstep every month. Your monthly Little Lace Box will also be brimming with high-end, brand name beauty, lifestyle, and home product samples to treat yourself to and dazzle your friends during your next night out.”
In addition, we follow a theme calendar that we feel will resonate with women. Themes are an important point of difference for LLB. In the 1950’s a very famous father took his two daughters to a local carnival to ride the rides. As he sat there watching them on one of the rides, he kept thinking, “there has to be a better way to entertain families than this;” he left and created a theme park and Disneyland was born. Themes can help give meaning and message to the items in each month’s box. Our themes are meant to do more than just sell boxes. Our September theme was about throwing a cocktail party. I have actually seen people get promoted because they threw a good cocktail party (whatever happened to being the best at your job?).
The reality is that our life is complicated, and our hope is that we will curate a fun box each month that delivers real value, not just in the items we picked out, but also in the theme that provided the roadmap for the content curation. Our themes will never be outrageous (although we all enjoy the TV show, The Walking Dead), we are basically old souls in twenty something bodies. We are three sisters, and we grew up doing all the things sisters do: playing, laughing, crying, fighting. And our personalities are poured into each box. I’ll leave you with a quote from one of our favorite companies, Shabby Apple – “Because they are beautiful. Because they are powerful. Because they have unique distinctions. Because they can use that power and beauty to shape and change the world in individual ways. Because they have always contributed. Because I believe in women.” I wish that was our original quote, and although it is not, it truly captures why we are passionate about what we do. Thank you and thanks for all the feedback. Wow, I m truly impressed with your company. I thought you had a fun idea and seemed to be really nailing your themes but man I love when a company has really good people behind it and go above and beyond to connect with the customers. I love love love that you said all the above and you have made me super super excited to receive my first. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to your customers and good luck with your business!

Thank you Patricia.

I believe the company that does those glasses is Crystal Imagery. I’ve ordered from them a couple times.

While popsugar’s website was down for the week, the last day they didn’t come back up until very late at night. (which hardly counts as them having the website up on that day.) There were a lot of people that kept asking them on facebook for an eta and they just kept stringing all of us along. I did not appreciate that at all and because of that I refuse to give popsugar any of my money. (and that was my favorite subscription) This box however… this could very well replace the 40$ I was spending on popsugar, and it seems like I’ll enjoy these boxes even more!

While I like the main items (glasses-love the personalization, coasters, and body scrub), the straws and napkins feel like filler so my evaluation comes down to whether I would pay full price for those three items, and I don’t think I would (but definitely would for the discounted price; but you can’t count on that value balance without a guarantee of future coupon codes). The more troubling aspect to me is this is billed as a fashion and beauty sub and this box, other than the scrub, includes neither. Maybe I’m just gun shy after my experience with Social Bliss and how it “evolved,” but for $40/month I want to receive what I signed up for-fashion and/or beauty. It sounds like the next box (Oct, I’m assuming) will have a fashion/beauty focus so I’ll hold off until I see one more month. I’m happy to hear they have great CS. That’s often a deciding factor and/or deal breaker for me with sub services.

I like the curation of this box, seem so delicate and chick. I love they went beyond and customize the glasses for the subscribers that is a nice touch. Unfortunately this box is out of my price range to take a plunge monthly with my other box.

I used the coupon to subscribe. I like the reviews of the first two boxes and am looking forward to seeing the third box.

I love the idea of themes, I thought they nailed this theme. Such cute items. I loved the glasses, I didn’t receive this box but after reading the sneak peek on their website for october I did decide to try it w/ $10 code I found.

Here is the sneak peek from the website:
The October Little Lace Box™ picks up where we left off in September.

Our September Little Lace Box™ was all about throwing the ultimate cocktail party.

October will be all about YOU looking fabulous at any party!

Fingers crossed its a good one 🙂 I would love to see a nice face mask (there is currently a pumpkin one in their shop I m hoping for), a fun necklace or earrings, and some nice/different beauty products. What would you like to see?

I love this new sub. Reminds me of PopSugar. I love the unique and personalized feel. I signed up for a year and if you share on twitter or Facebook, you got an additional 10% off so I pay approx. $28 a month!

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

How’d you get the 10% extra off?

Amanda, let me clear up what I wrote below, it was an error, and I apologize. Click on “mysubscriptionaddiction10″ (don’t include the quotes) at the beginning of this post and you receive $10.00 off the cost of the first month’s box when signing up for a subscription. The additional 10% that Mary Jane was mentioning, was an additional discount that we offered if you shared the sale with your friends on FaceBook or Twitter. Unfortunately, we did have to pull that down because it stopped working properly, and we didn’t want to get any complaints (in fact, I think Mary Jane is the person who alerted us to the issue). Once we get it working properly, we hope to add it back.

As for the annual subscription (12 boxes), Karolina is nice enough to point out that we do offer a 20% discount on that annual subscription; which brings the cost down to $32.00 per box. I hope that clears up my error. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you

LLB

Hi Amanda,

Click on “mysubscriptionaddiction10” at the beginning of this post and you can receive 10% off a full year subscription by sharing your purchase on Twitter or FB just prior to checkout. The discount will be applied automatically once you’ve shared.

Thanks! LLB

Mary Jane

It was on their website but it looks like it is no longer available. They have great customer service though. I would email them and ask about the promo.

I’m always looking for a new box to subscribe to, but at $39.99 I won’t subscribe unless it is an an equal equivant to popsugar. I like this box better then last months, yet I’m still not convinced to subscribe. If it was $33.99 a month on a monthly regular basis. I might consider it more so.

Karolina

I just got their annual subscription, which is going for 20% off on their site now. If you do the math, it comes out to $32 a box.
