Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Box

Lip Factory is a monthly full-size makeup subscription box. They tend to send a variety of drugstore and mid-tier makeup, and the value seems to always be at least double the cost of the box. (Extra good news – they ship worldwide!)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Info

Each box comes with a folded card detailing the items included for that month.

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Devine

deVine Lip Shimmers Set - Value $9

OFRA Eyeliner in Grapefruit - Value $13

I've been wanting to try these deVine lip shimmers after seeing them pop up in a few subscription boxes, and I'm a fan! It's a very moisturizing lip balm, but any shimmer or color is VERY subtle.

I'll be swapping this eyeliner though - there is a limit to how many blue eyeliners a girl needs!

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Lipstick

Michael Marcus Lipstick in Desire - Value $24

Reserves 29 Lipstick in Sparkling Shiraz - Value $25

The Reserve 29 Lipstick isn't listed on the card, so I'm not sure if this extra item will vary box-to-box. The formula of this lipstick is very moisturizing, but the color was a little too bold for me.

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Lipgloss

Frost Makeup Bag - Value $11

Frost Cosmetics Lip Gloss & Lip Stick - Value $16

This gloss/stick formula goes on pretty thick and it has major shimmer and pigment. It also has impressive staying power. I think it is a great product if you are going for a full-makeup look.

Verdict: I'm happy with the value this month - $98 worth of products for $22! I don't need any more makeup bags, but besides that I'm good with all the items too. What did you think of Lip Factory this month?

I’m in Canada and I don’t think my box is coming. It’s already February!
I emailed them 3 times and the first reply stated that they are still shipping and someone will contact me to check if mine was shipped, never got an email back. Two other times I got an automatic response to be patient because they are still shipping.
I feel used. 60 something dollars went to waste.

I don’t think I got the last Lip Factory box. They took payment on 11/29. When did everyone else receive theirs??

lisa

They have cancelled everyones sunscription plans last week.
i got my december box in january but had to email them multiple times. Actually every box i had to email multiple times to get them to send ot out. I imagine this is why i got 11 products im my December box, with them going out of business i assume they just got rid of everything they had.

I can’t find any valid website or email. Can you give me the one you sent your correspondence to please?

lisa

December made up for all prior boxes! !
10 full size products! Jcat, bellepiere, bombshell and more. Eyeshadows, liners, glosses, lipsticks, polishes and more. I told my husband I am canceling this box but when I opened it and saw over $150 of products I was shocked! Like 3 boxes in one!
So happy.

They’re going out of business?? Damn, I’ve always wanted to try them.

lisa

I didn’t receive a November or December box. Anyone else have this problem?

Krista

I heard they are going out of business :/

I just received my first box which was October’s. Does anyone know if I need to re-subscribe to get November’s box or will I automatically get one every month?

lisa

Yes. I ordered both. But lipfactory I’d giving me these issues. I finally have tracking number that works and hope it will be arriving soon. Lip monthly I gave up contacting and took as a loss, many people had bad experience too. Guess lip factory just had alot of problems this shipment but I can see many good reviews and feel better.

I subscribed last month and never got my box. They gave me a tracking number that doesn’t exsist. Sent one email saying sorry for late shipping that they were waiting for a product. Then sent a track # still didn’t get it. Then I got email saying no it wasn’t sent they ate waiting on other products, then when I asked to cancel they said it’s on its way and said it’s in flordia and gave me a fake # again! Is anyone having problems? Is this company legit?

Krista

Lisa, are you talking about Lip Monthly? Or Lip Factory? Lip factory I’ve only heard good things about. Lip monthly is the awful ones.

If they start having good brands like boxycharm then I will consider them. I like the eye liner and lipstick. Of course most people are going to choose Boxycharm with the brands and value at $100 average sometimes higher. I will keep checking the spoilers and reviews to see if this is the sub for me. Thanks for your reviews.

I also like that they include a cosmetic bag but this one is not cute at all.

I don’t understand the eyeliner’s name. We eat grapefruit which is not blue. Does it smell like grapefruit? Maybe it should be renamed eyeliner in blueberry? I don’t subscribe to the sub, but I do enjoy reading the reviews.

RachelJ

she meant to type Grapeful, it is not named Grapefruit.

Krista

If I subscribe now will I get the November box or the October box?

Sneaky Burrito

I think November. Which should also have a lot of lip products (supposed to be their “all about the lips” box).

Sara

I like that this bag was all lip products minus the eyeliner, I thought it was a mix of makeup, not just lipsticks. I don’t like the advertisement makeup bag either, it is tacky and the devine lip shimmer, I got one in my Lip Monthly bag and don’t like it at all. The grape scent is overpowering and there’s not color to it.

Natasha

I got one too, but mine had to cover….. The cover wasn’t even off in the bag…. it was completely lost. That was sketchy and then add the fact that the bag stunk I didn’t even try it.

sonya

Oh goodness no at that bag lol. The lip products look great though!

I’m surprised they put a value (especially such a high one) on the make-up bag. If it weren’t a complete advertisement, maybe…but this is a complete freebie. Ipsy doesn’t do it, and Ipsy has just one or two tiny ads (the zipper pull and sometimes a label), plus you get a bag every month.

Sneaky Burrito

Yeah, putting a value on the bag is tacky. Because I so wouldn’t go out and buy something plastered in advertisements if I was in the market for such a product. Whereas I would conceivably buy the products in the bag if I needed them.

And don’t you love how they provide a description of the bag on the card? As if we need to know how we can use it. 🙂
