Birchbox Vs Ipsy – October 2014

This month was hard for me. With ipsy I loved the skone liquid liner. I had sworn off liquid liner years ago but this one I’ve used a bunch since I got it. Birchbox finly have me the shesiedo(sp?) ultimune serum. After using it for a few days my skin is noticeably brighter and my psoriasis has gone away. For me birchbox won, but only because I’ve been looking for the perfect serum for months and finally found it!

Ipsy won at my house this month.

From Ipsy I receive two bags. I will use the Exfoliator (like) 1oz nice. The cleansing cloths, both lotions and Starlooks lip gloss. I wont use the highlighter and received two and the eye shadow is kinda blah. The mascara.Model co is.not great at all but I will use.it.
10 items and I like 5 items a lot! The others are just okay or blah! Plus I received points items from Ipsy about $60 worth and both bags valued at approx $78. ($138) for the cost of $20 very worth it. I fell in love with all the points items and for me personally by posting there link to facebook I have about 30,000 points remaining and more points items coming next month.

Birchbox doss not allow you to share there link to facebook to earn points, they will block you without warning. I had a few 3-4 people sign up before they took my link down and blocked me.

You can however cancel each month and sign up using there 100 points code plus 50 for reviewing the items. Plus you keep your ace status and keep all points, they just continue where you left off (no repeat items sent). I have not done that but I think I will occasionally because they allow you to keep using the code. Advice from Sneakyburrito msa member.

My Birchbox included a tiny coastal scents eye shadow and a tocca lotion, Beauty protect and defend spray, tiny tiny tiny lip gloss, and tiny suki exfoloator. 3 tiny samples and 2 deluxe. I already received suki so blah. I was suppose to receive the laggies box but customer service cannot correct that issue. As for the samples, I will use them ALL making not so many to go into the junk pile at least. I am just disappointed all around with Birchbox this month and there customer service too. 🙁 The items I love but they are tiny.

I have tried Suki in the past and compared it to the Epice and Suki is the big winner. My face feels soft, clean, etc and the scent is amazing and clean lemony sweet. I liked the Epice but compared to the Suki there is no comparison, Suki wins and I have tried over a dozen exfoliators and it is my favorite.

I was very disappointed that I did not get the laggies box because I love trying NEW facial cleansers/exfoliators and wanted to try the Vadanti. I already had Suki. 🙁 Big disappointment.

I decided to cut back on some of my sub boxes (mostly because I have been trying new ones without canceling any of the old ones and some really had to go!) I decided either Ipsy or birchbox had to go…I chose to get rid of Ipsy. While I have gotten some really great things from Ipsy and the value is always great I just can’t let go of the BB points! That totally makes the subscription for me. I may come back to Ipsy but until then I will just look for the products I really want on the swap site! 🙂

While I loved both my Ipsy bag and Birchbox this month, Ipsy was the winner for me! The items from my Ipsy bag have become staples, Skone is now my go-to liner, I’ve used the Indie Lee cleanser several times already and plan to buy the full size, and the F&G hand cream is now my diaper bag essential! They both had items I couldn’t use, the highlighter from Ipsy made me look oily, and the BB cream from Birchbox was too dark for my fair skin.

I owe Liz a lot because of subscription boxes has helped me to get into a beauty routine finally, I have saved money and have something to look forward to every month. I have grown into natural items for health and beauty also. I have learned how to use items I never thought to try. Most recently the Dr. Brandt pores no more, I never realized how large my pores really are. I have discovered brands I never would have thought of and items like highlighters, etc. I love cleansing my face more then I ever have since I have quite a few of the best facial cleansers and moisturizers and my hair finally looks amazing.

I know that is a lot to claim but I really have enjoyed this. I feel like my beauty items are my toys and I now have enough makeup to play around with and experiment. I love receiving travel size items to carry around and I have one cosmetic bag for all my travel size makeup and then a bag for skin care. I have lotions, etc in my purse and small lippies, etc.

I have good hopes for November. I received Ipsy spoilers from another web which claims we have items Glam Glow, Laura Mercier, It Cosmetics, Tarte, etc for the first November spoiler.

I have been wanting so bad to try Glam Glow so I hope that I get that for one of my ipsy bags. I have two right now. You can look the spoilers up through subscriptionalist ? online I get there spoilers every month through email sign up.

I am a Birchbox Ace now but chose not to pick a sample this month because I could not decide between the two face masks, regret not getting the cuppa cuppa ? mask. Well I will be suprised and with points I am going to pick up the porefessional by Benefit! =) I haven’t tried it but the reviews are great, hope it lives up to the hype.

Ipsy is the winner for me.

Unless the value is phenomenal for ipsy, BB is always the winner for me each month regardless of whether or not I love all my samples due to their generous point system and amazing customer service.

Well Liz, whatever you are making from subscription companies isn’t enough because I find myself subscribing to more and more boxes because of you. The Indie Lee face wash convinced me to try Ipsy. Do they repeat items month to month like Birchbox seems to?

The hand cream in the Ipsy bag is full size. So it technically has 2 full size items and the value is slightly higher if you give it its proper value 🙂

I eventually gave up on ipsy after too many stinky things (bag from early this year, BaB mascara, pop beauty lip gloss). Plus I was never, ever going to accumulate enough points to redeem for anything. BB samples have been pretty good for me lately, and seem higher in quality. Though I got the same glitter pencil eyeliner (I have really oily eyelids and can pretty much only use liquid eyeliner).

Birchbox is always a win for me bc of their fabulous customer service and points. My Oct box arrived with my perfume rollerball spilled all over my items and they immediately sent a replacement box, additional items plus free points equaling the cost of the box. Pretty amazing. Plus I love that I get to pick my deluxe item which last month was a deluxe tube of lipstick.

I loved my Ipsy bag – I was able to use all of the products and the bag itself was one of my fave colors 😀

It was the best bag yet (subscribed since May 2014)

This month neither was a winner for me, I guess I’d have to go with Birchbox since I got the Mally lip gloss that I wanted. But the rest of the products were odd and things I wouldn’t use. Same with Ipsy, odd products I wouldn’t use, I ended up swapping both of most of my bags.
