Beauty Box 5 Review & Coupon Code – October 2014 Box

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. It’s also one of the cheapest beauty subscription boxes – only $8.25 a month with an annual subscription. They tend to feature more drugstore brands, and usually the product sizes are deluxe or full size. (Sometimes they still send out the dreaded foil packets though).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Beauty Box 5 Review & Coupon Code – October 2014 Info

Each Beauty Box 5 box comes with an informational card detailing each item in your box for that month.

Beauty Box 5 Review & Coupon Code – October 2014 Chapstick

ChapStick Hydration Lock - FULL SIZE! Value $3

Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink - .176 oz Value $10

I'm so used to getting BellaPierre mineral eyeshadows or bronzers, so it was a nice surprise to open this up and find a solid cheek stain! The color is a little too bold for me for a lip stain, but it blends to a very natural blush as a cheek stain. And since the formula is a solid balm and not a liquid stain, you have a little more time to blend it in and get the color you want. (Stains can sometimes dry way too quickly for my taste!)

And I'm good with lip balm for a while, but this ChapStick will make a great stocking stuffer~

Beauty Box 5 Review & Coupon Code – October 2014 Nail Polish

Nanacoco Nail Polish in Surfer's Dream - Full Size! Value $4

Lashem Picture Perfect Instant Wrinkle Reducer - .17 oz Value $13.60

This part of the box looks so much like my Beauty Box 5 from last month. (I got a different nail polish and a different Lashem product).  I would like to see a little more variety!

Beauty Box 5 Review & Coupon Code – October 2014 Tool

Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool - Value $5.49

I went to their site to link to this product, and it's definitely not up and running yet! I remember seeing a similar tool on Shark Tank and I thought it was a good idea then. I know I'll use this for getting the last drop out of some of my beauty product favorites!

Verdict: I paid about $8 for this box (annual subscription with coupon) and I received about $36 worth of products. I think this is an improvement over last month's box in terms of both items and value. And I'm happy to see that everything is a good size this month too.

What did you think of the October Beauty Box 5?

Does anyone know when you get the free box from BB5? I used the code but i was just wondering when you get it. Also I don’t know if ya’ll already know that Wal-Mart has a quarterly beauty box for only 5 bucks and I have to say I liked what I got.Sure its stuff you can get at Wal-Mart but it was still stuff I liked.

With the sale prices I found you can get everything in the box for $15 considering the box is $12 a month and I would not use a few of the items this is a very bad deal. I cancelled right before last month. The last three months have been terrible! I have 3 subs that I love and the value is 3-5x at least from what I pay and high ends. This was the only subscription that did not leave me feeling regrets at all. On Facebook many are complaining also. There customer service is good though.

I encourage you to try the cheek/lip stain. I thought the same thing until I put it on. Same matte look as the melted lipstick from Sample Society awhile back. I have been looking for the right nude from my skin color far and wide (thanks for nothing MAC store), but oddly this is it. It goes on pale and with flat color. Only downside is that it’s drying. I love the matte look, but when starts flaking I layer on NYX butter glosses. Haven’t tried on my cheeks, don’t generally like creams. Have too many awesome powders from Wantable now!

I got my box today and got all the same things except my nail polish is in “Mermaid Lake” perfect name since I love mermaids and it’s a blue, sparkly color that I actually like a lot. I’ll use the Bellapierre cheek stain, nail polish and beauty tool and swap the other two items. I’m just not sure what to think about Beauty Box 5, they often include things I’ll use, but I’m so sick of nail polishes and the boxes just never seem to be exciting to me. On the plus side my interactions with their customer service has always been good and they replaced damaged items quickly.

I got everything you did, but my polish is magic kingdom- perfect for our Disneyland trip in spring! The box as a whole isn’t super exciting, but I get good stuff, and lots of nail polish, which is my addiction. The cheekstain looks a bit too light for my skin tone, but if I don’t like it it’s perfect for my sister. The spatula thing is cool, but I don’t have a mature enough beauty collection to need something like that. The chapstick is cool, and due to my ethnicity I won’t need wrinkle cream until I’m 60, so I passed that on to my aunt.

Not a box I’d ever pay 12 bucks for, but I got the yearly, and then used a coupon code, so my subscription comes to a little over seven bucks a box. So no complaints here! Next year I’m going with glossybox though, so I can try some high end stuff without having a panic attack when my bill at ulta is over 100 dollars!

You are completely right about the typo on the products card. I watched a YouTube video this morning of the Lashem Picture Perfect and used it. I’m actually very impressed with this product. They may of won me back as a customer with this product. My eyes are a problem area and always have been. I AMAZED by how the skin around my eyes feel hydrated and awake. This box redeemed itself with this one product.

I will get the most use out of the Chapstick. The spatula is an awesome idea, but isn’t something I see myself using.

We got nail polish in last month’s box, and I really don’t need another primer sample. I know a lot of people were excited about lip and cheek tint, but I’m still hooked on powders for cheeks and glosses for lips.

However, I know some people that I can gift some of these to, so I feel somewhat redeemed by that. I am glad that I only pay about $8 a month for this subscription.

from the comments I guess it’s a good thing I couldn’t subscribe since they don’t ship to hawaii

This box sucked me in with the first free one. It was underwhelming. The second one was underwhelming, and the third one was, too. I canceled, so October is my last month. Birchbox and Ipsy are $10/month each and I’ve been much happier with them. BB5 has been a huge fail for me. I’m excited about the spatty daddy/Shark Tank thing. Everything else was a miss. So, the value of the box to me was maybe $8? Including the chapstick? Nope. Plus their customer service is very slow to respond to emails, and I didn’t want to waste my time or money anymore.

I haven’t gotten my box yet, but after this month it might be my last box. It’s just underwhelming, nothing great or that I’m super excited about. I got the chapstick for free already and have enough nail polish to last me a life time, I don’t need more. The beauty tool is kinda cool and the bella pierre is nice.

When do these ship? I subscribed thanks to you 🙂 and haven’t gotten a box yet, but I was billed last week. I also used your code for a free box from last month. Thank you so much! I have subbed to both ipsy and BB5 thanks to you. Is there anything else better to try next time around–for affordable make-up?

The spatula link is http://www.thespatty.com, not the one you listed. I’m pretty sure it’s the one from Shark Tank! I’ve been meaning to buy something like that forever.

I also canceled the 1st and only BB5 box I will receive until I see better products/reviews. For the cost of this box I can put that money towards a higher end subscription service. Will definitely watch BB5 to see if they step up their game.

Did you realize the Las hem is listed on the card as a .5 fl oz/or 1tbs (full size) retails for $3.95. The sample we received was only .17 fl oz/ or 1tsp which is much smaller. Does the card in the box have a typo or was there possibly a typo on the review? Just don’t want to mislead anyone looking at this review :)…Thanks for all the amazing reviews though. Love this site ♡

I should have mentioned that – I believe the card is a typo and the full size version is $39.95. My value estimate is based on that pricing. (The link goes to the full size .5 oz version too). Hope that helps!

That’s a great thing to know 🙂 Thank you for your response.

I’ve looked back at all of the beauty box reviews and I would be highly disappointed in this box. It’s not near as good as Ipsy and Birchbox and it’s more expensive. All the items seem so cheapy and dollar store! I won’t ever get this box.

I was pretty happy with my box, but disappointed that my nail polish was a dark metallic blue. I love the color, but it’s the third one I’ve gotten in the last 2 months between my assortment of different subscription boxes. Still a good value though for the products I will use and the nail polish will end up gifted I think.

I cancel my subscription birch box, ipsy. Are lower the price of beauty box 5 and has high brand items. I just had to cancel.
