Escape Monthly Review – October 2013
Escape Monthly is a new vacation-in-a-box subscription service that launched a few months ago. They currently have a coupon code that saves $10 off every month for the life of your subscription, so I decided to sign up and give it a try!
This month’s getaway destination is Hawaii. I’ve always wanted to vacation there, and the packaging of this box is really cute, so at this stage in the unboxing, I was already pretty excited about this box!
The Subscription Box: Escape Monthly
The Cost: $49.95 a month ($39.95 a month with coupon)
COUPON: Use coupon code YOURESCAPE to save $10 off every month for the life of your subscription.
The Products: Each box is a destination-inspired monthly delivery of luxury products to help you relax, renew and escape.
Ships to: US only
Bonus Points: Each month, one lucky member will be selected at random to win a vacation to the current month’s theme destination. Escape Monthly will pay for the winner’s airfare from a major US hub and two nights of accommodations, up to $1000. (They announce the winners publicly on Facebook).
Each box comes with an Itinerary card detailing every item in your box, and giving you more background on your travel destination.
Moon Handbooks Big Island of Hawaii Guide – Value $17.99
Tub & Scrub Hawaiian Bath Salts – Value $10
I like that they included a guide book with this box. At first I was thinking this subscription would be an indulgent box with a destination theme, but it also can serve as vacation inspiration each month! (November’s box destination is Vermont, and we’ve been thinking about taking a trip there, so I can’t wait to see what travel tips they include in the box!)
Honey Girl Organics Face & Eye Cream – Value $30.99
Honey Girl Organics Night Cream Sample – Value $5?
Honey Girl Organics is a hawaiian beauty company that uses organic ingredients and Hawaiian Pupukea honey!
Alaea Hawaiian Sea Salt – Value $14.99
Seashell Lei – Value $5.99
I suppose no Hawaii themed box would be complete without a lei!
Tiesta Tea Maui Mango – Value $6.99
Royal Hawaiian Orchards Papaya Lime Macadamia Crunch – Value $4.15
I fell in love with Tiesta Tea after sampling it in the Bespoke Post Cafe box. I can’t wait to try this fruit-blend of tea!
Personal Paradise Coconut Lime Body Lotion – Value $2
Ostara Organics Lavender Foot Bath – Value $2
Ola Passion Fruit Organic Body Butter – Value $10
Gentle Scrub Facial Buff Pad – Value $7
I love all things coconut, so this lotion is perfect for me. It definitely smells like a vacation in a bottle!
Verdict: I paid $39.99 for this box and received about $120 worth of Hawaiian products. I’m am thrilled with the value of this box! I also love how many organic beauty products they included. Now I can’t wait for the November Vermont box to arrive!
