First Impressions

Open Envelope for Ipsy Original February 2026

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month’s theme, ‘For the Love of You,’ comes with a bag that definitely leans into the Valentine’s vibe. The soft pink shade is adorable, and the little heart-shaped zipper pull is a cute seasonal touch that makes the bag feel extra festive. The new packaging overall looks very modern, definitely giving Gen-Z energy, so I can see the appeal there. That said, I do miss the product card having the items listed inside. This month requires scanning a QR code to see the details, which feels a little less convenient (call me a boomer if you must, lol). Still, the bag itself is charming and well-designed, even if it arrived a bit late in the month. All in all, it’s a very cute start to February’s lineup!

Now, on to the items!

DALLAS AND JAMES SKINCARE CO. Watermelon Dream Milk Serum, 15 ml - Estimated Value $21.00

A good hydrating serum can instantly elevate a skincare routine, and the Dallas and James Skincare Co. Watermelon Dream Milk Serum was such a pleasant surprise for me. This brand was completely new to me, but after trying it, I’m really glad it made its way into my lineup. The formula has a lightweight, milky texture that absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated without any sticky residue (although it’s just slightly tacky for a moment right after application). The scent is subtle and fresh, with only the faintest hint of watermelon, which I actually appreciate since it’s not overpowering at all. I also love the pump applicator, which makes it easy to dispense the perfect amount without any means. Even better, the formula is free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, giving it a gentle, skin-friendly feel while still delivering hydration. The ‘Watermelon Dream’ name definitely gave me a nostalgic throwback to the days of Ciate London’s watermelon line, and overall, this serum left my skin feeling refreshed, nourished, and happy – and I’m thrilled I had the chance to discover it.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Micellar Cleansing Water, 20 ml - Estimated Value $1.50

Front of Serphora Micellar Cleansing Water for Ipsy Original February 2026

Micellar water is one of those staples I like to keep on hand, and seeing the Sephora Collection Micellar Cleansing Water in my bag was another little throwback for me since I’ve used it before and remember enjoying it. The packaging looks sleek and the sample size is quite generous, so it should last a while. That said, this formula felt a little different than I remembered… It was slightly more gloopy than water-like, which is unusual for a micellar cleanser. It still does a solid job lifting away the first layer of makeup, thanks to the formulation designed to dissolve oil, dirt, and impurities – but I did notice it leaves behind a somewhat oily residue, so my next step would be to follow up with a second cleanse. I also could have done without the added fragrance, and while it’s technically labeled as safe for eyes, I found it a bit irritating in that area, so those with sensitive eyes may want to skip using it for eye makeup removal.

DEW OF THE GODS Claydate Rose Hyaluronic Rose Oil Clay Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $6.30

Front of Dew of the Gods Rose Oil Clay Mask for Ipsy Original February 2026

Eye-catching packaging is always a fun way to kick off a skincare moment, and Dew of the Gods’ Claydate Rose Hyaluronic Clay Mask certainly delivers on that front. The holographic tube immediately grabbed my attention, and I have to admit I also love the brand name. Once applied, the mask has that classic clay texture that feels incredibly purifying, helping draw out buildup and impurities from the pores while leaving my skin feeling refreshed. The formula is also boosted with hyaluronic acid, which is a nice touch since it helps keep the skin from feeling overly dry or tight after rinsing. However, the rose scent is a bit strong, and while it gives the mask a spa-like feel, it may be a bit much for sensitive skin like mine. Still, I really enjoyed how clean and revitalized my skin felt afterward, and minus the fragrance, it could easily be a new favorite in my masking routine.

KOKIE PROFESSIONAL Maxed Out Mascara, 9 ml - Retail Value $8.00

Front of Kokie Maxed Out Mascara for Ipsy Original February 2026

Some brands consistently deliver solid everyday samples, and Kokie has always been one of those for me. The Maxed Out Mascara is a great example of why I keep coming back to the brand. I was thrilled to see that this one came full-sized, and the fluffy, oversized spoolie does a great job coating lashes evenly for noticeable volume and length without clumping. The formula applies smoothly and holds up well throughout the day with minimal flaking, which is always a big plus. I did notice a slight glue-like scent when first opening it, but it’s subtle and doesn’t affect performance at all. One thing that briefly caught my attention was the absence of a cruelty-free symbol on the tube itself, but after checking the brand’s product page, I was happy to confirm that it is indeed cruelty-free, which definitely matters to me (especially as a proud bun mom!). Ultimately, it’s a reliable mascara that delivers bold, long-lasting lashes and proves once again why Kokie remains a staple I’ll enjoy seeing in my beauty lineup anytime.

OFRA Eyeliner Pencil in Green Go, 1.2 g - Retail Value $13.00

Front of Ofra Eyeliner Green Go for Ipsy Original February 2026

Seeing OFRA in a subscription bag is always a treat for me, and the OFRA Eyeliner Pencil in Green Go definitely did not disappoint. The shade is a gorgeous army green with a subtle metallic finish, which adds just the right amount of interest without feeling over-the-top. Even though I’m not wearing mascara much these days, I still appreciate a good liner, and this one has a classic pencil format that can be sharpened all the way down, meaning you can really use every bit of the product. Like most traditional pencils, it takes a quick moment to get it started, but once it glides on, the formula applies smoothly and comfortably. What I really liked is how lightweight it feels throughout the day – no tight or dry feeling on the lids as it wears. Definitely a great full-sized addition to the bag.

The Verdict

This was a really fun month for IPSY Original! One of the highlights for me was Dallas and James Skincare Co.’s milk serum, which felt lightweight, hydrating, and refreshing on the skin, plus the watermelon theme was a pleasant throwback. I was also thrilled to see OFRA’s eyeliner pencil – the metallic army green shade is unique but still wearable, and the smooth, comfy formula made it a standout. Kokie Professional’s mascara was another solid addition, especially since it came full-sized; the fluffy spoolie delivers great volume with minimal flaking throughout the day. On the skincare side, the rose hyaluronic clay mask from Dew of the Gods offered that satisfying deep-clean feeling clay masks are known for, leaving my skin refreshed and purified, though the rose scent may be a big strong for sensitive skin. Lastly, Sephora’s micellar water worked well enough as a first step for breaking down makeup, even if I would prefer to go ahead with a second cleanse. Overall, this bag delivered a well-rounded blend of everyday staples and skincare treats, making it an enjoyable mix of both practical and fun discoveries.
