I Tried The New GlossyBox Ready, Set, Glow Skincare Set For A Month: Here Is What I Found

GlossyBox recently launched its own skincare range. As a GlossyBox fan and subscriber, I was intrigued to learn more about these exclusive products. The more research I did, the more buzz I saw around this range, I knew I had to test one of their skincare bundles! I will do just about anything for you all, my dear readers, so I decided to test the GlossyBox Ready, Set, Glow Skincare Set for one month to see how the products worked, and if they improved my skin over time.

This set includes the GlossyBox 3-in-1 rich moisturizer, exfoliating clay scrub, and hydrating mist. Together this set has a retail value of $64, or $24.75 if you are a GlossyBox subscriber. The great news is that you can buy each of these products on their own, plus the other products in their range that you can also mix and match to your own personal skin care needs! I was really nervous to test these products, if I am being honest. My skin can be so sensitive that a month with something that I don't love really worried me (obviously knowing that I could stop usage at any time if anything crazy happened). As a trusted subscriber though, I was also hopeful and excited.

So let's dig into these products and see how my month-long journey with this GlossyBox skincare set went!

GlossyBox 3-in-1 Rich Moisturiser

The Product: 3-in-1 Rich Moisturiser, 50 mL

The Cost: $25.00 (Subscriber $18.75)

When I received this set, this was the one product that I was not certain about. My skin is naturally very dry, so I need a lot of hydration. I also prefer my skin to have a dewy glow to it rather than having a primed matte finish. GlossyBox notes that this moisturizer is great for dry skin and works to protect, plump, and prime your skin. Some of their top ingredients include hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate, camelina oil to nourish and leave your skin looking supple, and Inca inchi oil to protect your skin's natural barrier. So many of the other ingredients for this moisturizer really focus on retaining moisture, relieving dryness, and refreshing your skin.

The biggest thing that I discovered pretty quickly was that this was not a great option for my nighttime routine, leaving me feeling super dry when I would wake up in the am. No biggie though, I find that a heavier moisturizer is best for me at night in general. What I did find was that this moisturizer is perfect to use before makeup application. It gives me solid hydration while plumping and priming my skin so that my makeup looks flawless all day! My only other issue was that this really does give you a matte finish, which for me personally is not a look that I love. For a longer makeup day or if I were having professional photos taken, this would be perfect to help keep your makeup in place, but for my day-to-day, this just wasn't how I like to see my skin. In terms of hydration though, this gets a big thumbs up from me!

GlossyBox Exfoliating Clay Scrub

The Product: Exfoliating Clay Scrub, 100 mL

The Cost: $18.00 (Subscriber $13.50)

This scrub is so good! The biggest thing that I will say is that it does have a very strong floral, almost rose, scent to it. If you are sensitive to scents, this scrub will most likely be too strong for you. This scrub is hypoallergenic, safe for all skin types, and has a thick creamy texture to it that is so soothing. The cornish clay in this mask cleanses your pores and will help remove oil to help keep oily skin shine-free. The scrub is also made with a rice exfoliator to gently buff away dead skin cells without leaving your skin feeling stripped and raw. Other top ingredients include lactic and glycolic acids to help restore radiance and energize your skin.

I am honestly obsessed with this mask! It is so easy to use and really gentle on my skin. You don't feel it as a harsh exfoliation, yet you are left with extremely soft and glowing skin. If you have dry sensitive skin, they recommend using circular motions during application for 30 to 40 seconds, 60 seconds for oily skin, or you can use it as a mask for 10 minutes. This is absolutely a product that I would purchase again!

GlossyBox Hydrating Mist

The Product: Hydrating Mist, 100 mL

The Cost: $21.00 (Subscriber $15.75

This is another product that has a very strong floral rose scent that really lingers on your skin. It was really overpowering to me at first, but after a few days, it really grew on me. Again, if you are sensitive to smells, these specific 3 products might not be great for you. This is a hydrating mist with hyaluronic acid to hydrate your skin and leaving it feeling refreshed all day. It also works to tone and prime your skin, making it great to pair with the moisturizer and to use before makeup application. You can also use this throughout the day to add that extra mist of hydration to your skin. I have been using this when I get back from the pool or after a long morning outside playing with my kids and it is the perfect refresher while still keeping my makeup in place and glowing. I am hooked on using this every morning once I get out of the shower, it just refreshes and preps my face, making me feel ready for my skincare products to just glide on. This is another product that I will happily purchase again!

Here I am the very first day I started using this set! This is after using the scrub, mist, and moisturizer. I am a bit flushed from the mask, but my skin is looking soft and hydrated. I remember this first day being so overwhelmed by the scents of all 3 products, but then loving how my skin looked so I felt a bit torn. As I said before, the scent really did grow on me and now I'm super into it, but if you aren't a scent person this could be a bit too much for you.

Here I am about halfway into the month of testing this product line. I decided to show you how this product pairs with my everyday makeup application. The night before this photo I used the scrub, as I have been doing once a week. In the morning I applied the mist and the moisturizer (along with a vitamin c serum that I swear by daily) before applying my foundation. Again, this really does give you more of a matte finish that you can probably see a bit better in person. I honestly thought I was crazy thinking this was making me look too matte, until I went to get a facial and the esthetician asked if I like my skin having such a big matte finish after I had just gone on about how I just want my skin to be dewy and glowing. So I knew that it really did have a visible matte finish. Not a bad thing at all, probably better for a day in full makeup, it just isn't a look that I like on me (probably after years and years of overly dry skin).

And here I am after a month of using this Ready, Set, Glow Skincare Set! My skin is looking and feeling great, and I am happy to report that I didn't have any breakouts from any of these products. While I was excited to give this range a try, I really didn't know what to expect. I love GlossyBox as a subscription, but to trust my skin with their own line? I just didn't know, but I am so happy that I took this idea and ran with it to see for myself, because they are really great! The mist and the scrub are sticking with me- give me anything that gently hydrates my skin any time of the day and exfoliates my dry skin without making me feel like I'm stripping my skin off. The moisturizer is amazing, it just doesn't give me the finish that I like to see on myself. That doesn't mean that I don't love it or appreciate it- I am going to keep this around to use for a date night or wedding when I want my makeup to look flawless and last. So there you have it, GlossyBox products are totally worth buying and trying!

You say retail value of 64 then say or 24.75 if a subscriber. This doesn’t make sense! So your saying if your a subscriber your retail value is 24.75??

Sorry for any confusion on my wording there. The total retail value is $64, if you are subscriber the cost of the box is $24.75 or $33.00 if you are not.

Just wanted to add that this skincare line uses sugarcane packaging, which doesn’t use fossil fuels, but a lot of resources just the same. It’s “recyclable” but not biodegradable and can still create micro plastics in the environment. It should also be noted that smaller container sizes (especially travel sizes) make it more difficult to sort so many of these “recyclable” containers don’t actually get recycled.

I find myself “wish” cycling a lot thinking if I put it in my recycling tote, it will be recycled, but more often than not, that’s not the case.

I know this information doesn’t have much to do with the products themselves, but the one and done packaging that most of us go through every day is wasteful and burdensome, but finding alternatives is difficult because we are at the mercy of the corporations that make these products. Reading about the politics behind recycling and the plastics industry has truly been eye opening and I encourage others to learn about it….it was actually incredibly fascinating to read.

Thanks for the review Taryn. BTW I know someone once said that we should only be matte once we are dead lol.

I love this so much! After “rules” changed where I live on what we can recycle I really started to look into this all more, so these are amazing points! I honestly love that last quote, I really just don’t see the benefit of looking matte, but I often like I’m the only one! hahaha
