How Green Chef Keeps Keto Fun, Flavorful, and Easy

I've used keto to facilitate fat loss numerous times throughout my life. It's the only type of diet I can stick to for long periods of time that doesn't leave me starving but still helps me tighten up. And even though I've enjoyed the results that keto brings, I can't always say the same about the recipes.

While I love my fill of eggs, butter, and steak, I have to admit that keto meals can become monotonous after a few weeks. I'm also not that creative of a cook and run out of ideas for meals way too quickly. To top it off, I'm pretty limited on free time as a new mom and struggle to find just a few minutes to myself throughout the day...which means most cooking and grocery shopping has to be done on the fly.

Needless to say, following through with keto has been quite the struggle lately. Try as I might, I just haven't been able to stay in a rhythm and my taste buds have become frustrated with a lack of novelty. So, I turned to Green Chef for help!

New and Fun Recipes Each Week

Normally when I try to come up with a new keto recipe it takes me hours to design, prepare, and cook the meal. I'm then left with a pile of pots and pans to clean up in addition to whatever mess my little one has left me throughout the day. To make matters worse, my recipes don't always turn out that great, and then I'm left with a pile of goop that isn't exactly tasty.

Needless to say, Green Chef eliminates the bulk of this issue with its delicious and simple recipes. Each week I have access to plenty of keto meals and each meal's ingredients come prepped and pre-measured. Did I mention that each meal takes 30 minutes or less to make?

Some of the recipes I got to try this week include Blackened Chicken Cutlets & “Grits” and Cumin-Spiced Shrimp. Rather than rely on traditional grits, Blackened Chicken Cutlets & “Grits” had me swap them out for cauliflower seasoned with sharp cheddar, cream cheese, and butter. Yes, it was to die for! And Cumin-Spiced Shrimp had me whip up a creamy chimichurri made with avocado mayo. This spin on chimichurri made the meal melt in my mouth and evened out the bite of spice.

The recipes I get to try with Green Chef are full of flavor and a million times better than anything I can come up with on my own. Each week I look forward to what's new on the menu and never have to worry about bland meals. Every recipe is packed with flavor, contains enough fat to fuel my brain, and provides an ample portion of protein.

Ready-Made Meals to Save Time

While I love trying out Green Chef's recipes, there are some days when I don't have as much time to dedicate to cooking them. But that's ok as Green Chef also offers add-ons for ready-to-heat meals!

These meals are absolute lifesavers on the days when my daughter demands my full attention...for literally the whole day. Two meals that really helped me out this week were Smoky Bacon & Cheddar Egg Bites and Chef’s Salad with Prosciutto & Herby Feta.

Smoky Bacon & Cheddar Egg Bites made for the perfect grab-and-go breakfast. All I had to do was throw them in the oven for just a few minutes and, voila, they were ready to eat. I was able to play with my daughter and eat my breakfast simultaneously - talk about a win! The Chef’s Salad with Prosciutto & Herby Feta was also a super low-maintenance meal and only took a few minutes to piece everything together.

Just like their traditional recipes, Green Chef's ready-made meals are just as delicious and help you venture into new territory for meals.

Add-Ons for Protein In Case I Want More

Whether it's been an extra busy day running around the house to catch my newly crawling baby, or I was able to sneak in a quick HIIT session at home, some days I just need more food, specifically protein. Something great about Green Chef is that they let you add extra servings of protein to your plan anytime you want and for practically any type of protein you want.

Whether it's organic ground beef, ranch steaks, or Barramundi filets, I'm able to throw in additional servings of protein to my box and have it on hand for the days I need extra support. Most other meal subscriptions don't offer this option - especially when it comes to meat, poultry, and seafood.

I can't tell you how many times this feature has come in handy, and while most of Green Chefs' meal kits supply a generous portion of protein with each serving, it's still great to have this option available.
