1. Cairn + Cairn Obsidian

Image from our review

The Cost: $29.95 per month for the regular subscription; save with longer commitments. $249.95 per quarter for Obsidian. Sign up here!

About this Subscription: Cairn is an outdoor subscription box for men and women that sends smaller gear items, trail snacks, and sometimes apparel or accessories meant to be used while exploring nature. Each delivery is typically focused around a theme, like hydration, and usually features a "hero" item accompanied by a few smaller accessories. When you sign up for this monthly subscription you'll want to make sure you indicate your activity preferences in your account so the box can be customized for your hobbies—you'll be asked to rank your top 5 summer and winter outdoor activities with options like hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing or snowboarding, surfing, cycling, and more, and you're given the chance to enter in your preferred sizing—this way, when Cairn sends something to wear, it will be customized to your size, too.

About the Obsidian Upgrade: Do you like to go big? Upgrade your Cairn subscription to Obsidian, the quarterly subscription box, and you can expect to receive larger items to use on your adventures. The Obsidian collection sends backpacks, puffer jackets, camp cooking supplies, Hydroflasks, hammocks, and other must-have goods, with some of the same smaller items found in the monthly subscription (like water bottles, camping utensils, and skincare items, for example) rounding out the curation. It's a great way to get your adventure gear collection started, or upgrade what you already have!

Check out our Cairn monthly reviews and details for more information! Ships to the U.S. for free, Canada for $5, and internationally for $10.

Avoid Nomadik at all costs. They autorenewed for more than the price online (that’s the pricing without any discounts) and they don’t give notice. I tried logging into my “account” which didn’t exist. I’m going thru a Paypal dispute now as I’ve disputed the charge with them directly within 14 days (as stated in the T&S, I disputed the day I saw the charge). They are rude and definitely don’t care about their customers, just the money. Go read the reviews and you’ll see I’m not the only one they’ve done this to!

I’d love to see Happy Glamper reviewed. One of my goals this year is to explore more. I’m not much of a “tent and cot” camper anymore, so I’ve been looking at fun glamping options. I’ve already rented a tree house for my first trip this spring.
PS, if you need a reviewer, I’m totally game 😉
