Alright, while we’ve been reviewing the So Susan Color Curate bag for a while here at MSA, this is officially my first time seeing and trying the bag, so this will be part first impressions, part monthly bag review. Let's get into it.
So Susan Color Curate is a monthly makeup subscription service that sends four full-sized beauty items in a makeup bag for $20.95 a month. All products are 100% cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impression

I love that this comes packaged in a small makeup bag (valued at $12). The pattern on this one is really cute, and the size feels ideal for tossing a few essentials in your bag while traveling.
What’s Inside
Trifle Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Value $22
Shade: Fruit Punch
Never judge a book by its cover. My first instinct was that the packaging looked a little cheap, but the formula completely changed my mind on the first swatch. Almost zero fallout, a buttery glide, and the pigment is so there. One swipe gave me intense color payoff I genuinely wasn't expecting. The foiled, highlight effect on these is really pretty. They're not my everyday shades, but I could totally see pulling these out for a night out.
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Luna Light – Retail Value $19
Shade: Aurora
Liquid highlighters and I have a complicated relationship; it's way too easy to overdo it and end up looking like a disco ball instead of dewy. But the formula here is genuinely impressive. It's almost like liquid foil, and the shade is stunning. Super buttery to apply, and a little really does go a long way, so just start light and build from there.
So Susan Cosmetics Universal Blush – Retail Value $28
This was a fun one to test. The brand claims it works with your skin's natural chemistry to give you a personalized flush, I'll be honest, I didn't notice anything that felt uniquely "customized," it just read as the shade itself on my skin. That said, I'm obsessed with the finish. It has that blush-meets-highlighter effect that looks really fresh, and you can layer it to dial up the intensity. The shade is genuinely gorgeous, so no complaints there.
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics The Super Matte Lipsticks – Retail Value $22
Shade: Awesome
Another one where the packaging undersold the product. At first glance? Not convinced. But this lipstick surprised me. The shade is a rich, deep red with serious impact, great for a pout moment. And despite looking chalky in the tube, the formula is actually pretty creamy, so application is more precise than you'd expect. The one caveat: it's a little smudgy for my taste, especially for a red. I'd skip this one for a long dinner out and save it for occasions where you can touch up.
Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $20.95
Retail Value: $103
I'll be real, based on the packaging alone, I was ready to be underwhelmed. But this box genuinely won me over. The formulas are impressive across the board, and the blush and eyeshadow palette are standout pieces. The foil finish, the pigment payoff, the zero fallout, it all adds up. I'd give this an 8/10, and I'm actually excited to see what the next few months look like.
