Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that sends discovery samples of makeup, skincare, haircare, or beauty tools, based on a short survey you take when you sign up. Birchbox and I go way back; it was my first subscription box, and it ignited the flames of my ever-burning subscription box enthusiasm; the nostalgia is very real. Subscribers can now choose one sample to personalize their box or receive a fully curated box.
This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Ipsy, Birchbox sends many different bag variations each month — so my review is just one of the variations you might receive!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.
First Impressions
Birchbox kept it simple this month; there was no info card, just four products staring back up at me.
What's Inside
Kinship Brightwave Brightening Eye Cream, 0.13 fl oz - Estimated Retail Value $10.40
Kinship has such exciting packaging! The bright yellow immediately caught my attention, and I love the orange print and crisp photo of the full-sized cream. This lovely cream is perfect for priming your undereye for concealer because, while it is moisturizing, it is neither thick nor greasy, and it has a subtle peach hue to color-correct any blue or purple under the eye. This eye cream has powerful and energizing vitamin C to brighten and is also effective against fine lines.
Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks in Charmed and Palo Alto - Retail Value $20 each
I received two liquid lipsticks from Ofra this month, a brand I always enjoy. Their liquid lipstick formula feels smooth and hydrating when going on, and in my experience, it didn't dry down completely like most liquid lipsticks do. The doefoot applicator applied the pigment with precision, and I had full coverage in one quick swipe.
The two colors I received are Charmed, a pink mauve hue, and Palo Alto, a brick red that leans orange. Both colors are beautiful, and they could work for any complexion.
DEINDE Skin-Strengthening Serum, 0.34fl oz - Estimated Retail Value $22.67
This is a very generous sample of a gorgeously milky serum. It has a glorious texture for dry skin, and mine just soaked it right in. It strengthens the skin barrier and targets all five signs of aging (fine lines, dullness, uneven tone, dryness, & uneven texture) with powerhouse ingredients, including a special polyphenol called Naringenin, Niacinamide, and tripeptides. It instantly calmed some redness and made my skin feel so soft and bouncy. I can't wait to put this in my rotation, because this serum is seriously a hit.
The Verdict
Of course, Birchbox blew it out of the water with some fantastic brands and products. I've trusted their brand for over a decade, and they didn't disappoint. My first Birchbox in a few years, and I found a new daytime eye cream, a delightful serum that I may repurchase, and two lip colors that might have changed my stubborn opinion on liquid lipsticks forever. I loved this month's box, and I look forward to opening next month's.
