January is here, and we’re already halfway through! Back when the kids were little, this month seemed to drag on forever, but now that they’re busy with sports, it flies by just as fast as the rest of the year. With our schedule feeling so chaotic, I love lighting a candle at the end of the day as a signal that it’s time to relax. This month’s Vellabox arrived just in time to add a little scented cheer to my evenings. If the soft flicker of candlelight and soothing scents help you unwind, I can’t recommend this subscription enough. Fireworks usually make me think of celebrating the Fourth of July, but I love that they’ve also come to symbolize the start of the New Year. January is a busy month for our family, yet it offers a little more time for cozy evenings at home—which I truly enjoy.
Because of that, we’ve been burning more candles lately, and for the first time in months, I’m actually feeling refreshed and relaxed. Soft lighting and a crackling fireplace are some of my favorite parts of the long winter season, and the gentle flicker of candlelight instantly lifts my mood. The clean-burning candle brands Vellabox partners with are truly second to none when it comes to melting away the day’s tension.
Since so many candles contain harmful ingredients, I’ve made the switch from inexpensive, mass-produced options to high-quality, premium candles that are free from harsh chemicals. This month’s candle is made with sustainable soy wax, premium fragrance oils, and 100% cotton wicks—ingredients I feel good about bringing into our home.
The January scent I received is Toast the Season, featuring notes of cypress, cranberry, and champagne. It’s the perfect way to kick off the New Year—sweet, slightly spicy, and absolutely delightful. The scent has an impressive throw, filling our space from the kitchen to the living room, and it’s easily become one of my favorites.
This month’s candle was created by Brimwick Collective. Founded in 2011, the company focuses on crafting clean fragrances designed to match your personal style and vibe. They even offer a perfume line! Handmade in Columbus, Ohio, their products are absolutely fabulous.

Winter Blush Air Freshener (2-Pack) - Retail Value $10
This subscription is so much fun! I really enjoy the surprise inclusions, and this month’s air freshener set was perfect. The two-pack of Winter Blush fresheners smelled amazing and added a little aromatherapy to my car rides. Featuring notes of pine and cranberry, it’s a fragrance my boys and I all enjoy. The design is simple and does its job hanging from my blinker, but the scent truly shines. I’m so happy they included two!

Vellabox is a fabulous subscription and one I look forward to receiving each and every month. Since I burn candles almost every day, it’s important to me that they’re free of toxins and harmful ingredients. Vellabox does an excellent job of curating small brands that are not only safe to use but smell incredible too! This month’s "Toast the Season" scent was absolutely perfect for starting the year fresh and included some of my very favorite scent notes. With the addition of the Spotify playlist and the amazingly scented air fresheners, my month felt complete. I already can’t wait to see what’s in store for February!
