Silk + Sonder December 2025

December is usually one of my favorite months of the year, but 2025 has been rough, and I just haven’t felt ready for the joyful holiday season like I normally am. I’m extremely behind and feel like a hamster spinning on a wheel. I’m praying I can catch up soon, and this month’s Silk + Sonder planner has truly helped. The beautiful blue journal has been such a blessing—I’ve had so much to juggle lately, and it’s been a lifesaver for keeping me organized. Honestly, I don’t know how I’d manage all the chaos without it.

Renewal: Embracing change and new beginnings to foster growth, healing, and transformation.

I love that Silk + Sonder selects a unique theme each month, and I truly appreciate how thoughtfully Meha, the creator, curates them. December’s theme is Renewal, and after the last few months, I’m more than ready to embrace growth, healing, and transformation as the new year approaches. Read on to see what I discovered!

One of my favorite things about Silk + Sonder is getting a fresh new planner each month. That little monthly reset feels so good—year-long planners always end up overwhelming me. This one does include a year-at-a-glance page, but the boxes are tiny, so I mostly use it just to peek at future dates. At the start of each month, I fill in the calendar with any upcoming events… and before I know it, the days start flying by!

December is one of the busiest months of the year, and I need this planner to keep myself from spiraling into chaos. I’m definitely a Type A person—I need things planned and scheduled—and this calendar helps me stay on top of everything. Staying organized is a huge help for my anxiety, and having a quick-reference calendar right at the front of the planner keeps me grounded and calm when life gets hectic.

On page 6, we turn to the “Future Log,” which includes two small calendars for the upcoming months. There’s just enough space to jot down quick notes—and honestly, I’m so focused on the now that I don’t even want to think about January or February! 😜 On the opposite page, there’s a blank spread, which is always a nice touch. I use these pages all the time for lists, numbers, and random bits of info, and I really appreciate that they’re included.

Page 8 offers space to reflect on the previous month, with sections to capture your wins, challenges, and favorite moments. It’s such a helpful way to pause and evaluate what’s working—and what isn’t. This is one of my favorite pages because it reminds me to acknowledge the small accomplishments that might otherwise go unnoticed. There’s also a section to jot down what you want to startstop, and continue moving forward.

November was a busy month. I had plenty of wins—pheasant hunting, deer hunting, family time, and lacrosse. But there were challenges, too: our family is still mourning my sister-in-law, work has been stressful, life has been extra busy, and I’ve felt constantly behind. My favorite moments included an out-of-state pheasant trip with family, a Keith Secola performance, craft time with my buddies, and two nights in a row of seeing the northern lights.

Reflecting on these moments helps ground me. Even when things are hard, life is still full of goodness—and I love that this page encourages me to hold on to that.

Next up is the Monthly Intentions page. I love this section because it gives you space to set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout the month. With six categories and boxes to fill in, there’s plenty of room to jot down your thoughts. It’s not necessarily a to-do list—it’s more about starting the month with intention and reminding yourself what you’d like to focus on. This month, my intentions are pretty simple which is exactly what I need. While the list is short for now, I’m sure I’ll add more as the month goes on. I’m excited to keep checking in and see how far I can go!

As I mentioned earlier, Silk + Sonder is so much more than just a planner—and the trackers on pages 10 and 11 are proof of that. These pages feature a mood tracker and a habit tracker, giving you space to log your daily moods and monitor your habits throughout the month. I find this feature especially helpful for spotting patterns, which is something that really supports me in managing my anxiety. What I love most is how customizable these trackers are—you can focus on exactly what matters to you, all wrapped up in such a beautiful design. Silk + Sonder usually ships about a week and a half before the new month begins, so while I’ve already created my “keys” for each tracker, I haven’t started filling them in just yet. I really do need to start exercising though!!!

Page 12 features another tracker—this one for sleep. I don’t usually have trouble in that department, so I tend to skip it. The opposite page, though, is one of my favorites. Page 13 introduces the Gratitude Log, with a line for each day of December to jot down something I’m grateful for. I highly recommend this practice, even if you don’t use this specific planner. Especially during tough times, it’s such a gentle reminder of all the good things in life.

This month’s theme is Renewal, and the next few pages invite us to reflect on what that truly means in our own lives. I only jotted down a few notes to start, but I plan to add more as the month goes on. I usually struggle with the “Letter to My Future Self” prompt, but this time it came surprisingly easily—I ended up writing the whole thing in just a few minutes. After such a tough year, there are so many areas where I’m hoping to grow and renew as we head into 2026. I can’t wait to look back on this letter later and see how far I’ve come.

The next activity, titled “Portrait of Renewal,” offers space to create a collage that represents who you’re becoming. I wasn’t really feeling this activity right now, so I decided to save it for later. And that’s absolutely okay—use this journal in whatever way serves you best, and don’t feel guilty about skipping or adjusting pages.

On the opposite page, there’s a lovely poem titled “The Journey” by Mary Oliver. It’s beautifully written and stirred up a lot of meaningful reflection, which I really appreciated.

The next page features a really pretty holiday-themed coloring page with a teacup snow scene and a Christmas bulb. I haven’t had time to work on it yet, but I definitely plan to add some color to it with my morning coffee this coming weekend. On the opposite page, there’s space for a Vision Board—meant to help us stay focused and motivated to reach any goals we can dream up. I’m thinking it might be the perfect spot to map out some weight-loss intentions, but we’ll see where the month actually takes me!

Every Silk + Sonder journal includes a recipe, and this month’s dish called for ingredients I didn’t have on hand—which is usually the case with these recipes! Still, I really appreciate that this one is a cookie recipe, because I’m far more likely to experiment with new baking ideas than new dinner recipes for my family. I’ve already added caramels to my shopping list so I can give it a try. I’ll be sure to update once I make them!

On the opposite page is a Desires Wishlist, which is a new activity I haven’t seen before—and I really love it. It gives you space to write or sketch 20 desires for the upcoming year. It’s much harder than it sounds! I only filled in three so far, and two of them are pretty tough to measure, but I’m excited to keep working on it.

Blank sheets are always helpful and a great place to do some long division, write notes, and jot down addresses!

Each month, we get some kind of mind puzzle, and this time it was a snowflake dot-to-dot. I was genuinely excited to see this one and completed it right away. I’m hoping they include more puzzles like this in the future—they don’t take long, but they’re so satisfying to finish! I think I even solved this month’s riddle, too. What a lucky day!

On the opposite page is an expense tracker. While it’s a great feature, I don’t personally use it since I track my expenses in a Google Doc instead. As always, use this journal in whatever way works best for you!

I love that this journal always starts on a Monday, even if that means beginning in the previous month. This month, started on Monday December 1, so I didn't get a jump start from November, but that's okay. When it comes to the journal as a whole, I tend to spend most of my time on these calendar pages. With sections for meal plans, to-dos, habits and activities, shopping lists, and daily schedules, I write everything here. It keeps me on track each day and gives me that satisfying feeling of accomplishment—there’s truly nothing better than crossing an item off my list. I also appreciate the extra touches these pages include. While I don’t always fill out how I want to feel each week, this week I found it really helpful to write it down and pray over it. This journal is just so darn helpful!

Tidying up with one last quote, the dictionary definition of "sonder," and the back cover, that's all there is to it. I have come to find that a key part of my day is when I sit and fill out my planner with my cup of coffee. This quiet time happens before the kids are awake, and kicks my day off to a good start before I start my school day. It is extremely important for me to keep a consistent schedule for managing my anxiety and creating much more positive life, and this journal definitely is a big help in that.

The Verdict

I have to say, I really needed December’s theme to be Renewal—and I didn’t even realize it. Even though I wish time could just stand still for a moment, it doesn’t. But Silk + Sonder has been a huge support—an absolute necessity! Without this planner, I’d definitely be lost (and so would my husband!). I continue to be impressed with this subscription and can’t wait to see what January has in store.

I typically tend to allocate about 15-20 minutes a day to this journal and flip from front to back reflecting, adding to, and processing what I have previously written. By the end of the month, my brain feels much more organized and stable. The beauty of this planner is remarkable, and the packable size means I can tote it around in my purse. Being extremely impressed with all aspects, I am really looking forward to discovering more about myself, all while staying organized and offering myself a little daily quiet time and important self-care.
