December is rough on skin. Between heavier makeup, late nights, stress, and sugar overload, things start to feel congested and unbalanced fast. So a “skin reset” theme actually makes a lot of sense this time of year. This BomiBox leaned hard into gentle formulas, hydration, and calming ingredients… but did it actually feel like a reset, or just a cleanser overload? Let’s break it down.
BomiBox is a monthly Korean beauty subscription box. Each month, you get eight full-sized and deluxe K-beauty products across skincare, makeup, and body care.
This is a review of BomiBox Luxe, which is $39.99 per month.
This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
What’s Inside:
Medicube Hypochlorous Acid Daily Facial – Retail Value $6.63
This is about as “reset” as it gets. Hypochlorous acid has been everywhere lately, and for good reason; it helps calm inflammation, reduce redness, and keep acne-causing bacteria in check without disrupting the skin barrier. I liked this one more than expected. It didn’t have that strong chlorine smell that some HOCl sprays do, and it felt genuinely soothing after application. My skin felt calm, not tight or dry, which is exactly what you want from this type of product.
APLB Retinol Vitamin C Vitamin E Facial Cream – Retail Value $7.64
I can’t speak to long-term results yet, but texture-wise? This is lovely. It’s creamy but lightweight, sinks in quickly, and leaves no greasy or sticky residue. It’s also nearly scent-free, which makes it feel safe for nighttime use, especially if your skin is sensitive to fragrance. So far, no irritation, and that’s always a win with retinol-adjacent formulas.
ANUA Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil – Retail Value $3.31
This is a very unpopular opinion, but I’ve never loved this cleansing oil. It’s extremely lightweight, and for me, it just doesn’t emulsify or break down makeup and sunscreen well enough. I think it benefited a lot from Anua’s viral moment, but performance-wise, there are stronger oil cleansers out there. If you wear minimal makeup, it might work, but for a proper first cleanse, it falls short for me.
Heimish All Clean Balm Mandarin – Retail Value $9.94
This is still the gold standard. Slightly scented, yes, but somehow it never irritates my skin. I’ve tried every version of this balm over the years, and it consistently melts down makeup, sunscreen, and buildup better than almost anything else. Your skin feels deeply clean without being stripped. I know this sounds dramatic, but if you want a cleansing balm that actually lives up to the hype, this is it.
Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Deep Pore Cleansing Ultra Whipping Foam – Retail Value $13
I’m torn on this one. It’s fragrance-free, lathers beautifully, and leaves your skin feeling very fresh, but it is a foaming cleanser, and that comes with limits. If your skin tends to be oily, you’ll probably enjoy this. For me, it was a little too stripping to use daily. I’d personally keep it as an every-other-day or occasional deep-clean option rather than a main cleanser.
A’PIEU Icing Sweet Bar Sheet Mask – Retail Value $0.70

Always solid. This box included Pineapple and Hanrabong versions, both geared toward brightening and hydration. They fit well, feel comfortable on the skin, and don’t dry out halfway through wear. These are the kind of masks you’ll actually use instead of forgetting them in a drawer.
Pyunkang Yul Sample Pouch – Retail Value N/A

This was a nice touch. It’s basically a full mini routine in one pouch, which makes it perfect for travel or an overnight stay. Pyunkang Yul isn’t my personal favorite brand, but their formulas are fragrance-free and very barrier-focused, so this fits the reset theme well.
Was this Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99
Total Retail Value: $41.92
Overall, yes, but with one caveat. The box leaned a little too hard into cleansing. Three cleansers felt redundant, and I would’ve loved to see one swapped for a richer barrier-repair moisturizer. That said, everything in this box fits the “skin reset” concept, and any box that includes the Heimish All Clean Balm is automatically a win in my book.
