Silk + Sonder November 2025
How is it possible for time to pass so quickly, yet feel like we’re standing still? My family’s October was turned upside down when my sister-in-law passed away so unexpectedly. Life has felt like a blur and has reminded me just how fragile it truly is. Receiving this month’s Silk + Sonder planner was such a blessing—I’ve had so much to keep track of lately, and it’s been a true lifesaver for staying organized. I honestly don’t know how I’d manage all the chaos without it.
Kindness: The quality of showing compassion and care towards others and oneself, fostering connection and positivity.
I love that Silk + Sonder selects a unique theme each month, and I truly appreciate how thoughtfully Meha, the creator, curates them. November’s theme is Kindness, and after our family’s recent events, I’ve been making an extra effort to be kind to everyone—you never know what someone might be going through. Read on to see what I discovered!
One of my favorite things about Silk + Sonder is getting a fresh new planner each month. That little monthly reset feels so good—year-long planners always end up overwhelming me. This one does include a year-at-a-glance page, but the boxes are tiny, so I mostly use it just to peek ahead at future dates. At the start of each month, I fill in the calendar with any upcoming events… and then, before I know it, the days start flying by! Just when I thought things might slow down, basketball season kicked off. Staying organized is such a huge help for my anxiety, and having a quick-reference calendar right at the front of the planner keeps me grounded and helps me stay calm when life gets hectic.
On page 6, we turn to the “Future Log,” which includes two small calendars for the upcoming months. There’s just enough space to jot down quick notes—and honestly, I’m so focused on the now that I don’t even want to think about December or January! 😜 On the opposite page, there’s a blank spread, which is always a nice touch. I use these pages all the time for lists, numbers, and random bits of info, and I really appreciate that they’re included.
Page 8 offers space to reflect on the previous month, with sections to capture your wins, challenges, and favorite moments. It’s such a great way to pause and see what’s working—and what’s not. This is one of my favorite pages because it helps me recognize all the little accomplishments that might otherwise get overlooked. There’s also a section to jot down things you want to start, stop, and continue.
October was probably the hardest month of my life, but even amidst the challenges, there were still some bright spots—family time, football, lacrosse, and cozy snuggles. Even through heartbreak, there’s always something to be grateful for, and this planner reminded me of that.
Next up is the Monthly Intentions page. I love this section because it gives you space to set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout the month. With six categories and boxes to fill in, there’s plenty of room to jot down your thoughts. It’s not necessarily a to-do list—it’s more about starting the month with intention and reminding yourself what you’d like to focus on. This month, my intentions are pretty simple, but one of them includes sharing a podcast with my mother-in-law each day. While the list is short for now, I’m sure I’ll add more as the month goes on. I’m excited to keep checking in and see how far I can go!
As I mentioned earlier, Silk + Sonder is so much more than just a planner—and the trackers on pages 10 and 11 are proof of that. These pages feature a mood tracker and a habit tracker, giving you space to log your daily moods and monitor your habits throughout the month. I find this feature especially helpful for spotting patterns, which is something that really supports me in managing my anxiety. What I love most is how customizable these trackers are—you can focus on exactly what matters to you, all wrapped up in such a beautiful design. Silk + Sonder usually ships about a week and a half before the new month begins, so while I’ve already created my “keys” for each tracker, I haven’t started filling them in just yet. Oh, and remember how I mentioned last month that I was hoping to find a treadmill so I could start running? Well, one of my favorite people in the world ended up giving one away—and I was first on the list! Yay!!
Page 12 features another tracker—this one for sleep. I don’t usually have trouble in that department, so I tend to skip it. The opposite page, though, is one of my favorites. Page 13 introduces the Gratitude Jar, which gives me plenty of space to jot down several things I’m grateful for each and every day—even before the month of November officially begins! I highly recommend this practice, even if you don’t have this particular planner. Especially during tough times, it’s such a gentle reminder of all the good things in life.
This month’s theme is Kindness, and the next few pages invite us to really explore what that means on a personal level. The first set of prompts asks how I practice self-kindness and what kind of impact it has. Others dive into how showing kindness can influence your mood and relationships, followed by a space to identify specific actions you can take to spread kindness more intentionally. I found this section especially helpful in guiding me to focus on ways I can still be kind and supportive, even while grieving. I really needed this reminder right now. On the opposite page, there’s a Kindness Ripple Effect exercise, where you reflect on one act of kindness you recently performed. I haven’t felt quite ready to complete that one yet, so I’m saving it for the start of the new month.
The next activity, titled “Bubbling With Joy,” includes space to write down the passions and activities that bring you happiness. With room to list ten things, this one was really fun to start! I haven’t filled in all the bubbles yet or reflected on any common themes, but I’m looking forward to revisiting it throughout the month. On the opposite page is a beautiful poem by Alfred Kreymborg titled “Credo.” This piece truly moved me—it actually brought me to tears.
The next page features a really fun mandala to color, along with an acrostic poem using the word kindness. It turned out to be harder than it seemed, since some of the letters were tricky to work with. I plan to circle back to this throughout the month, as I’m still working on coming up with something I’m really happy with.
Every Silk + Sonder journal includes a recipe, and this month’s featured dish required ingredients I didn’t have on hand—which is often the case with these recipes! If you happen to try the White Bean Mushroom Stew, let me know in the comments if it’s worth picking up the supplies. On the opposite page is a “Letters of Kindness” activity, where you fill nine envelopes with special messages just for yourself. I wrote affirmations in each envelope to remind me of my strength, love, and worth.
Blank sheets are always helpful and a great place to do some long division, write notes, and jot down addresses!
Each month, we get some kind of mind puzzle, and this time it was an Autumn Word Wheel. The challenge was to make as many words of any length as possible from the letters. You can only use each letter once, and each word must include the letter D. Honestly, I was a little confused because I wasn’t sure if the letters had to connect on the wheel or not—does anyone know for sure?
On the opposite page is an expense tracker. While it’s a great feature, I don’t personally use it since I track my expenses in a Google Doc instead. As always, use this journal in whatever way works best for you!
I love that this journal always starts on a Monday, even if that means beginning in the previous month. This month, started on Monday October 27th, so I was able to have a little head start. When it comes to the journal as a whole, I tend to spend most of my time on these calendar pages. With sections for meal plans, to-dos, habits and activities, shopping lists, and daily schedules, I write everything here. It keeps me on track each day and gives me that satisfying feeling of accomplishment—there’s truly nothing better than crossing an item off my list. I also appreciate the extra touches these pages include. While I don’t always fill out how I want to feel each week, this week I found it really helpful to write it down and pray over it. This journal is just so darn helpful!
Tidying up with one last quote, the dictionary definition of "sonder," and the back cover, that's all there is to it. I have come to find that a key part of my day is when I sit and fill out my planner with my cup of coffee. This quiet time happens before the kids are awake, and kicks my day off to a good start before I start my school day. It is extremely important for me to keep a consistent schedule for managing my anxiety and creating much more positive life, and this journal definitely is a big help in that.
The Verdict
I have to say, November’s theme of Kindness felt perfectly timed given what my family has been going through. Even in the midst of grief, life keeps moving, and Silk + Sonder has been a huge support—an absolute necessity! Without this planner, I’d definitely be lost (and so would my husband!). I continue to be impressed with this subscription and can’t wait to see what’s in store for December.
I typically tend to allocate about 15-20 minutes a day to this journal and flip from front to back reflecting, adding to, and processing what I have previously written. By the end of the month, my brain feels much more organized and stable. The beauty of this planner is remarkable, and the packable size means I can tote it around in my purse. Being extremely impressed with all aspects, I am really looking forward to discovering more about myself, all while staying organized and offering myself a little daily quiet time and important self-care.
