Silk + Sonder is a monthly planner subscription that makes planning, reflecting, and achieving easy and fun by delivering a new pen-to-paper experience every month. Each planner features new layouts that are "inspired by positive psychology, bullet journaling, and self-help books." For an annual plan, the cost is $19.95/month. There are also quarterly and monthly plans available.

Silk + Sonder October 2025

It’s absolute insanity to me that we’re already heading into October—I swear we were just in July! Where on earth does the time go? Can we please, please, please make it slow down?! With nearly a full month of school under our belts, I’m finally starting to get into the groove of all the chaos. But honestly, without my Silk + Sonder planner, I’d be completely lost. This planner is truly a lifesaver when it comes to staying organized—I’d never keep up with all the craziness without it!

Resilience - The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and setbacks, adapting to change with strength and perseverance.

I love that Silk + Sonder selects a unique theme each month, and I really appreciate how thoughtfully Meha, the creator, curates them. October’s theme is Resilience, and my day job definitely comes with its fair share of difficulties and setbacks. A lot of the kiddos I work with could write their own books on resilience, so it was really meaningful to dive into the theme myself. Read on to see what I discovered!

One of my favorite things about Silk + Sonder is receiving a fresh planner each month. That regular reset has been incredibly helpful—yearly planners often leave me feeling overwhelmed. While this planner does include a year-at-a-glance spread, the calendar is too small to write in, but it’s perfect for referencing future dates. At the start of each month, I fill in the calendar with any known events and then watch the days fly by! Since our football schedule only comes out weekly (I’d probably faint from exhaustion if I ever saw it fully written out), it doesn’t look too bad on paper—but believe you me, it ends up jam-packed. Staying organized plays a huge role in managing my anxiety. Having a quick-reference calendar at the front of the planner helps keep me grounded and prevents me from spiraling into panic.

On page 6, we open to a “Future Log,” which includes two small calendars for the upcoming months. There’s just enough space to jot down quick notes, and honestly, I’m living so much in the now that I don’t even want to think about November or December. 😜 On the opposite page, there’s a “Wheel of Life” that has you rank ten areas of your life on a scale from 1 to 10 based on how fulfilled you feel. It also prompts you to write down one way you can increase your level of fulfillment. I really enjoy this feature because it helps me check in with myself and my goals. We use similar ranking scales at school, and they seem to help the kids—so why wouldn’t it help me too!?

Page 8 offers space to reflect on the previous month, with sections to note your wins, challenges, and favorite moments. It’s a great way to evaluate what’s working and what’s not. This is one of my favorite pages because it highlights all the accomplishments of the month. There’s also a section to jot down things you want to startstop, and continue. September has been interesting—this year, we have Fridays off from school, there have been a ton of football games, our garden is exploding with produce, and ruffed grouse season opened. My challenges included being back to school and work, extra-long days to make up for the Fridays off, and the inevitable wave of sick germs. My favorite moments? Goose season success, grouse hunting wins, garden greatness, and my first paycheck of the school year finally arrived—yay! Overall, it was an eventful month that flew by way too quickly.

Next up is the Monthly Intentions page. I love this section because it gives you space to set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout the month. With six categories and six boxes to fill in, there’s plenty of room to jot things down. It’s not necessarily a to-do list, but more about starting the month with intention and reminding yourself what you'd like to focus on. This month, my intentions are pretty simple since we have a lot of changes happening, but it felt really good to write them down. I'm excited to keep checking in on them throughout the month and see how far I can go!

As I mentioned earlier, this is more than just a planner—and the trackers on pages 10 and 11 are proof of that. These pages include a mood tracker and a habit tracker, offering space to list your typical moods and track them throughout the month. This feature is especially helpful for identifying patterns, which is something I find incredibly useful when managing my anxiety. I also love how customizable these trackers are, allowing you to track exactly what matters to you, all in such a beautiful format! Silk + Sonder typically ships about a week and a half before the new month begins, so while I’ve already created my “keys” for each tracker, I haven’t started filling them in just yet. Because of the lack of time I have given up my daily running, but would like to get a treadmill to get back into it. Anybody have suggestions as to a brand that's inexpensive and high quality?

Page 12 features another tracker—this one for sleep. I don’t usually have trouble in this department, so I tend to skip it. The opposite page, however, is one of my favorites. Page 13 offers a Gratitude Log, which gives up 31 spaces to jot down things you are grateful for each day. I highly recommend this activity, even if you don’t have this particular planner!

This month’s theme is Resilience, and the next few pages invite us to really dive into what that means. The first prompt asks what strengths or qualities I possess that have helped me persevere through challenges. I listed empathy, patience, and hope. The next prompt explores how the lessons I’ve learned from past challenges have influenced my perspective on handling future ones. Going through similar situations definitely makes it easier to push through—though it’s never truly easy. The following page offers space to write a letter of gratitude to yourself, thanking yourself for the resilience and strength you’ve shown during difficult times. There’s also room to reflect on personal growth and highlight the positive changes that emerged from those experiences. I’ll be honest—I haven’t had time to really sit down and think about this deeply, but I hope to carve out a quiet moment during a sunrise, when the day isn’t quite so rushed.

The next activity was a Resilience Tree, which I didn’t complete exactly as instructed, but I still had fun drawing out the leaves, roots, and trunk. I’m planning to add the labels soon, and overall, I really enjoyed the activity. On the opposite page was a beautiful poem by Maya Angelou—one I’ve read before and really enjoyed. That woman definitely had talent!

The next page features a really fun pumpkin scene with a variety of patterns. I’ve started coloring it in with my new shiny Sharpie markers, and I’m loving how it’s turning out! Coloring is such a relaxing pastime, and I really appreciate this inclusion. On the opposite page, there’s a “Brain Dump” section that invites you to release the tension in your jaw, stretch, and take a deep breath. Such a simple act—yet one I often forget to do. Without stopping, you then write down everything that’s swirling around in your mind. We’re talking the good, the bad, and the ugly. Once it’s all out, you’re encouraged to take another deep breath and reflect on it later. I already have a lot listed and have a feeling the page will be completely filled by the end of the month. I really enjoyed this—it took some pressure off my brain and made me feel a bit lighter. Even if you don’t have this planner, I highly recommend trying this exercise!

Every Silk + Sonder journal includes a recipe, and this month’s featured dish called for ingredients I didn’t have on hand—which is usually the case with these recipes. If you happened to try the Thai Red Curry Noodle Soup, let me know in the comments if it’s worth buying the supplies! On the opposite page, there’s a Create Your Own Bingo activity where you fill in 24 spaces with self-care activities and challenge yourself to complete a row—or even a full house—this month. With our current schedule, I’m not quite sure that’s possible… but hey, one can hope, right!?

Blank sheets are always helpful and a great place to do some long division, write notes, and jot down addresses!

Each month, we get some kind of mind puzzle, and this time it was a Labyrinth—a fancy name for a maze. This circular puzzle didn’t take too long, but it definitely gave me a nice sense of accomplishment once I finished it. This page also includes a riddle, and I think I just got it right two months in a row—for the first time in my life! Yay!!

On the opposite page is an expense tracker. While it’s a great feature, I don’t personally use it since I track my expenses in a Google Doc instead. As always—use this journal in whatever way works best for you!

I love that this journal always starts on a Monday, even if that means beginning in the previous month. This month, started on Monday September 29th, so I was able to have a little head start. When it comes to the journal as a whole, I tend to spend most of my time on these calendar pages. With sections for meal plans, to-dos, habits and activities, shopping lists, and daily schedules, I write everything here. It keeps me on track each day and gives me that satisfying feeling of accomplishment—there’s truly nothing better than crossing an item off my list. I also appreciate the extra touches these pages include. While I don’t always fill out how I want to feel each week, this week I found it really helpful to write it down and pray over it. This journal is just so darn helpful!

Tidying up with one last quote, the dictionary definition of "sonder," and the back cover, that's all there is to it. I have come to find that a key part of my day is when I sit and fill out my planner with my cup of coffee. This quiet time happens before the kids are awake, and kicks my day off to a good start before I start my school day. It is extremely important for me to keep a consistent schedule for managing my anxiety and creating much more positive life, and this journal definitely is a big help in that.

The Verdict

I have to say, the thought of focusing on resilience this month as we head into the second month of school is a perfect fit. Though this month is again going to be jam packed, I love that I can spend my mornings focusing on me and my growth as a human, and start my day in an organized, relaxed place. Because of my busy life, Silk + Sonder has become an absolute necessity. Without this planner, I’d definitely be lost (and so would my husband!). I continue to be impressed with this subscription and can’t wait to see what’s in store for November.

I typically tend to allocate about 15-20 minutes a day to this journal and flip from front to back reflecting, adding to, and processing what I have previously written. By the end of the month, my brain feels much more organized and stable. The beauty of this planner is remarkable, and the packable size means I can tote it around in my purse. Being extremely impressed with all aspects, I am really looking forward to discovering more about myself, all while staying organized and offering myself a little daily quiet time and important self-care.
