First Impressions
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month’s ‘Make Bold Moves’ theme came along with a makeup bag that’s definitely making a statement. The design is certainly bold and a bit surreal, with heart-shaped eyes peeking out from between flower petals in a way that’s equal parts trippy and unexpected. Even though it might not be my favorite bag design ever, I can appreciate the commitment to something different. The zipper detail, though, is a lot of fun; a nice finishing touch to such a unique design.

When it comes to reliable hydration, First Aid Beauty rarely misses, and their Ultra Repair Body Lotion has been just what my skin needed this summer. Despite my best efforts to stay moisturized year-round, the heat has been drying me out lately, and this lotion has proven to be a true MVP. It’s lightweight, fast-absorbing, and soothing without any heavy or greasy feel. The formula, enriched with colloidal oatmeal and shea butter, calms and nourishes my sensitive skin beautifully, and I love that there’s virtually no scent to it. After applying, my skin feels noticeably softer and smoother, without any irritation. My only wish would be for a bigger bottle… When it’s labeled a body lotion, I’d definitely want enough to cover all the real estate. Still, this one’s an easy win in my book.
GOLDFADEN MD Radiance Whip Brightening Treatment Mask, 10 ml - Estimated Retail Value $13.00
Even though wash-off masks aren’t usually my go-to (I’ll take a sheet or peel-off mask any day), the Goldfaden MD Radiance Whip Brightening Treatment Mask made me rethink my stance a bit. I’ve trusted this brand for years because of how well it plays with my sensitive skin, and this mask was no exception. The whipped texture feels luxurious and light, and I only needed a small amount to cover my face, which means I’ll get multiple uses out of this despite the small size. What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t dry down into that uncomfortable, crackly feeling so many wash-off masks do. Instead, my skin felt soft, hydrated, and subtle brighter post-rinse. The packaging is sleek and very on-brand: clean, professional, no-nonsense. If you’re already a fan of wash-off masks or looking to dip your toes into one that won’t leave your face feeling parched, this one is worth a try.

Give me a glossy lip moment with hydration to back it up, and I’m all in. This Lip Revival Hi-Shine Hydrating Lip Oil in Shining Star from Beauty For Real completely delivers. The shine it gives is next level, catching the light just enough to make your lips pop without looking overdone, and while it goes on clear, it leaves behind the faintest, naturally pretty tint that flatters effortlessly. I actually love how it feels a bit on the heavy side; it’s like a silky wrap of moisture for my lips. The formula is packed with nourishing ingredients like castor seed oil and shea butter, so it feels more like a treatment than just a gloss. It has a slight tackiness to it, but nothing bothersome. Overall, it’s the type of lip product I’ll reach for on repeat whenever I need some serious hydration.

Every now and again, a product shows up in a subscription that truly surprises me, and the Insert Name Here Quick Slick Flyaway Hair Finishing Stick definitely did just that. It’s essentially a mascara-style wand loaded with a lightweight, non-greasy formula designed to smooth down frizz, tame flyaways, and keep your style looking polished all day long. As someone with thick, curly hair, I saw real potential in this, especially for those moments when I’ve already laid my edges and just need a quick touch-up. The only catch for me is the brush: it could be a bit denser to truly work on textured hair like mine, especially if you’re hoping to use it as a mini edge brush. Still, the concept is smart, the execution is mostly there, and it’s the kind of product I’d absolutely keep stashed in my bag for on-the-go use.

There’s something so satisfying about a makeup brush that nails both form and function, and the Luna Magic Always Poised Highlighter Brush does exactly that. Right away, the bold design and fun pop of color pulled me in. It’s the kind of tool that actually looks stunning on your vanity. But aesthetics aside, the quality really holds up; the bristles are super soft yet just dense enough to give you a smooth, diffused glow without any streaks. I’ve been reaching for it not only for highlighter, but also for buffing out harsh lines in my foundation or blending in some eyeshadow. The Verdict
This was a solid month for Ipsy Glam Bag! The Insert Name Here hair finishing stick was a standout for on-the-go touch-ups. Perfect for smoothing flyaways, though I’d love to see a denser brush option for thicker hair like mine. I was pleasantly surprised by Luna Magic’s highlighter brush, which blended like a dream and added a cheerful pop of color to my vanity. The lip oil from Beauty For Real was an instant favorite, giving my lips a juicy, glassy finish while delivering some serious moisture. First Aid Beauty never disappoints, and their body lotion came in clutch for my summer-parched skin. Lightweight, fragrance-free, and deeply hydrating without a trace of greasiness. And while wash-off masks aren’t usually my thing, the Goldfaden MD treatment mask won me over with its soft whipped texture and gentle glow-boosting formula. Overall, this bag offered a fun mix of color, hydration, and versatility; perfect for stepping into summer with confidence and a little flair.
