Fortune Cookie Soap Box Review Easter 2024

Kate Kemp
ByKate KempApr 14, 2024 | 1 comment

Fortune Cookie Soap Box is a monthly subscription for $19.95. This, however, is the limited edition Easter box which doesn’t renew.

This box was paid for by the author. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The Easter box’s theme is: “Life In Plastic" and is based on the hit movie, “Barbie!”

Ok, I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch the Barbie movie! It doesn’t seem like my kind of film, but as a girl born in 1982, I did grow up playing with Barbies. Plus, I absolutely love everything from Fortune Cookie Soap, so I bought this Easter box, anyway. The reason that I admitted to not seeing the movie is so that I can be honest when I say that I don’t understand the film references in the product names. Luckily, I enjoyed this box regardless of that.

Included in the box is an insert with each scent description.

Come On Barbie, Let’s Go Party!

You’re So Beautiful - Static Cling - Retail Value $7.99

Fortune Cookie Soap (FCS for short) always includes a unique item, with their logo, in each of their holiday boxes. For the 2024 Easter box, it’s this pink vinyl cling. The box insert says that it’s able to be put on both from the front or the back of a surface. I like that because I worry about putting clings on my car (or elsewhere) that someone could rip off. This way, I could put it on the inside window of my car where it would be safe. That said, it’s not really my style, so I’ll be gifting it to my niece.

Come On - Glitter Sticker - Retail Value $4.99

This gorgeous sticker was included as a bonus if you purchased your box prior to 1/26/24. On the FCS website where the box was listed for purchase, they wrote that if the box was purchased early, we’d receive a bonus item. I was super excited so I purchased my box on the first day it went up for sale. I’ll be honest, finding out that the bonus was a sticker was a bit of a letdown but it’s a really pretty sticker that I know my niece will love. And since it wasn’t my reason for purchasing the box, it’s not a big deal.

Get In The Box - Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8.99

This first item in this box of fun is a cute bath bomb. It’s really pretty with a bit of glitter. I decided to give it to my mom as part of an Easter present. She’s always excited to get anything from FCS so it was a hit! I found out later that my dad was jealous because he had declared himself the official tester of all bath bombs. I had to dig into my FCS stash and give him two of my own, just to keep the peace!

According to the FCS, the scent is, “A lovely mixture of blush apricot, chamomile, vanilla sugar and sweet berries.”

Dreamhouse - Squeezable Wax - Retail Value $8.99

I’m always a fan of wax bars. I never burn candles because of my two precocious kitties, so I’m addicted to wax tarts. Squeezable wax is a revelation to me! It’s so different from anything I’ve seen. And yes, fun to squish around in the bag. Also, the scent release is immediate because you don’t have to wait for a wax tart to melt. So a total win! Plus, the bag of fun pink goo looks perfect next to my warmer.

I noticed that when I left it sitting out in a cold room overnight, it solidified. But when I squished it around a bit, it went back to its liquid state.

Of the scent, FCS says: “...smells of swaying palm trees, white flowers and notes of mint and zesty lemon.”

She’s Everything - Butter Balm - Retail Value $15.99

I’ve been a customer of FCS for years and I can’t remember seeing this type of product in one of their boxes before. It’s fantastic! It feels like a cross between their famous whipped cream and their luscious body frosting. It really moisturizes and smells heavenly!

FCS describes the scent: “This flattering blend of salty air, bergamot, coconut milk and turquoise waters combines with white amber, jasmine and soft santal musk to make you feel absolutely beautiful and iconic.”

Do You Ever Think About Dying? - OCD Hand Sanitizer - Retail Value $2.89

Hand sanitizer is always a welcome box addition; I remember when it was as valuable as gold! Though it’s not worth quite that much now, it’s still as useful as ever.

FCS describes the scent as: “...rich, decadent brown sugar and vanilla, blended with creamy coconut milk and white musk.” I’m not a fan of anything that smells heavily of food, though, so I’ll be gifting this bottle.

The Weird - Leave-In Conditioner - Retail Value $11.99

Fortune Cookie Soap has really expanded their range of natural, handmade hair care products. I’m excited to try this leave-in conditioner. It smells really nice and I could use help keeping my thick, unruly hair under control.

FCS describes the scent as,"This funky and colorful blend of tutti frutti fun is full of strawberry, raspberry, apple and sugared lemon candy!” Though I don’t usually like foody scents, this one is to die for. It’s not as sugary smelling as you’d think. It’s more of a sweet freshness.

Beach You Off - Exfoliating Body Wash - Retail Value $10.99

This is a huge container (9.2 oz!) with a convenient pump top. It has a really pretty blue shimmer that I was unable to capture in my photographs. I love that it contains jojoba wax beads to gently scrub your skin clean. Unlike some other abrasives, they are safe for the environment. FCS describes the scent as, “...this tanned, buff blend of sweet pineapple, coconut, mimosa flower, with just kenough of soft woods and musk will beach off any other scent you can think of.”

You’re So Beautiful - Superfruit Facial Oil - Retail Value $16.99

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the scent. I don’t care for foody/fruity scents. Plus, thanks to my addiction to sub boxes, I have a drawer full of face oils and serums. So I’ll be giving this facial oil to one of my sisters or friends.

FCS describes the scent as, “This heavenly blend of honeydew milk tea is so refreshing, with creamy and milky undertones. The subtle hint of honey boba provides a touch of sweetness.”

Don’t Call Me Baby - Shimmer Perfume Oil - Retail Value $17.99

A shimmer perfume oil is an appropriate addition to a Barbie themed box! This one smells lovely and fresh. I was worried about being really sparkly, but it doesn’t contain glitter. It just has a subtle shimmer that isn’t very noticeable on my skin. I’m thrilled about that; I can’t pull off sparkle anymore!

The scent is described as, “...tropical blend of passionfruit, mandarin, plumeria petals, soft woods and musk.”

I Am Enough - Whipped Soap - Retail Value $14.99

A colorful whipped soap is a fun addition to this box. I have several whipped soaps from FCS…yes I need all of them! Like the others, this one feels soft, creamy and sleek on my skin. And the smell: wonderful! FCS lists the scent as a, “...delicious blend of crushed dragonfruit, summer berries and sweet iced tea.”

Pink! - Fortune Cookie Soap - Retail Value $4.25

An FCS box wouldn’t be complete without a fortune cookie soap! This is probably my favorite scent in the box! Judging just by the scent description, you’d assume that it would be really sweet and fruity, but I found it very fresh.

FCS describes the scent as, “This playful blend of juicy strawberries, hard candy and frosted rose will make you feel beautiful from head to toe!”

Every Night Is Girl’s Night - Jelly Gloss - Retail Value $10.99

A pink lip gloss is such an appropriate item in a box devoted to Barbie! I like that it’s not sticky, has only a faint aroma and doesn’t seem to have a flavor. I’m not a fan of any flavored lip products. Plus, I’ve read that they can actually be bad because flavors encourage you to lick your lips, which can cause your saliva to dry them out. So it’s perfect, just as it is!

FCS describes the scent as: “This mouth-watering blend of juicy watermelon and lick-your-lips sugar crystals will have you ready for any girls’ night out….”

The Verdict

I ordered this box the first day it went on sale, at the end of January, and was digitally stalking the mailman for it! It was a long time to wait but it was worth it! I love almost every scent in this box. It smells fresh; perfect for springtime! There were a few products that I won’t use, but items from Fortune Cookie Soap never go to waste; I have a list of people who fight over any that I am willing to part with. Overall, I’m thrilled with what I received. I paid for this box myself, as I do all boxes from FCS, and I won’t hesitate to continue to do so. There’s no way I’m missing out on anything from Fortune Cookie Soap!

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?

No, this is not a recurring box, and it is sold out. For these limited edition boxes (Christmas, Easter and Halloween), FCS sells them as a pre-order that goes on sale months in advance of the holiday release. However, there were a few extra items made, but once they’re gone they won’t be restocked. So grab them quickly, here!

Happily, Fortune Cookie Soap offers a monthly mini box. The monthly subscription costs $19.95. Included in the subscription is a $10 off $25 coupon code that will be sent to you via email. It’s good for items (from any collection) on the Fortune Cookie website. Each box contains 1 full and 3 deluxe sized items (plus a sticker). Quarterly, though, they give 6 deluxe items.

Value Breakdown: The box costs $69.99 (plus $11.75 shipping), which means each of the 11 items (not counting the stickers) cost an average of about $7.43 each. Considering these are full size items, that’s a fabulous value! The retail value of the box comes to $138.03. Plus, with every box, you’ll be e-mailed a code for $10 off any order of $35 or more (to be used on any items in their vast store). What do you think of this limited edition Fortune Cookie Soap Box?

I appreciate all of your reviews because I really love FCS. The monthly boxes are great. This is the first Easter FCS box I have purchased, and I was kind of bummed about the sticker too. I personally wasn’t a big fan of these scents, but I thought the products were nice.
