The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. It's secured by a sticker that gets you excited to explore what's inside. Once you open the box, you're greeted by an information pamphlet, a monthly affirmation, and a Mindful Souls sticker.

Details about your monthly curation are inside this pamphlet. On the back is a teaser into your next box. This subscription is a little different than others, in that the boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence — everyone receives boxes in the same order, no matter when they subscribe. So the teaser on the back of the booklet will be about what YOU are going to receive, and might differ from what you see here.

My affirmation this month is for manifesting creative talents and abilities. Yes, please!

The Products

Pendulum Amethyst Necklace - Retail Value $17.97

The first item in my both this month is an amethyst pendulum necklace on a wrapped string rope. Rarely have I seen amethyst in such a deep color! It's mesmerizing and feels very special. The black rope it's on is sturdy and tastefully touched with both metallic gold accents and blue-white beads to adjust its length.

Here is the necklace at its shortest length (first photo) and its longest length (second photo). Take a look at my sweater's neckline to see the difference more clearly. Both lengths are comfortable to wear, and I find this piece to be a really pretty, elevated way of rocking a stone necklace.

Serenity Buddha Figurine - Retail Value $17.97

What a sweet little handcrafted statue. I am so drawn to the natural colors. This piece is light and smooth. Some may place this tiny Buddha on a home altar or use it in meditation. Others might use it as peaceful decor. I think it's just lovely but might be better enjoyed by a friend who practices Buddhism. I so look forward to passing this along to her.

Meditation Shawl — Estimated Retail Value $23

At various points throughout my life I have offered myself to group meditation circles, followed along with guided meditations, and made attempts at calming my thoughts in private, quiet meditation. I never used physical tools (other than sitting on a folded blanket for comfort), and didn't even realize meditation shawls were a thing. A quick ask to the Internet tells they can be used by anyone in meditation, and are helpful for the fluctuations in temperature that sometimes go along with this practice.

Most I'm seeing are made in soothing colors and from natural fibers, mostly wool. They're also larger...and more expensive. While this item isn't listed for sale on the Mindful Souls site at the moment, I found comparable designs on Etsy, which is where I'm getting my cost estimation.

The bold colors and mandala print of this shawl is eye-catching indeed, and when I was younger I could see myself draping it over a side table as decor. No longer is it my style, and my current access point to meditation is seeking stillness and quiet within myself amid the chaos of raising young children. I will pass this shawl along to someone who may get better use of it.

Rose Quartz Pointer Crystal, 1.97-2.36 inch - Retail Value $17.97

My little family has a fondness for rose quartz because we've found raw rose quartz stones naturally occurring around us on hikes in Arizona on multiple trips. We've lovingly collected it, and my older daughter even distributed it with her valentines to her classmates last year. Rose quartz represents healing and unconditional love — a universal desire, is it not?

This rose quartz point can be found on the Mindful Souls site in two different sizes. The photos of the points seem more pink and more stout than what's pictured here, but of course variation is natural, and the pinkish tint is more noticeable in different light.

White Turquoise & Lava Stone Bracelet — Estimated Retail Value $14

I'm a lover of turquoise for its usual bluish color, but white turquoise is also appealing. Lava stones are said to have the ability to calm and stabilize. Together, the contrast is appealing to the eye, especially with golden beads in the mix. This bracelet has great potential for stacking with other bracelets.

Rosemary Essential Oil - Estimated Retail Value $12

I'm always surprised when I take a whiff of rosemary oil that it doesn't smell like rosemary in herb form. It's just as earthy and energizing, though! My brother uses rosemary oil for hair regrowth on his head, and I had initially offered this bottle to him — until we noticed this particular oil is meant for aromatherapy purposes. So, into the diffuser it goes.

You'll see that the label of my oil bottle is a little stained, and that the dropper is cracked. It arrived this way, but it didn't leak terribly, nor did it damage anything in my box. No harm done!

Verdict

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

I really enjoyed everything in my second Mindful Box. The deep purple amethyst pendulum necklace is my favorite piece, but everything is wonderful to keep or share. If I had to offer constructive feedback it might be that the meditation shawl felt a little "loud" in its pattern and isn't the nicest material. My essential oil bottle dropper was cracked, but that was a fluke and wasn't a problem. Overall very positive experience here.

This box costs $39.97, and contained 6 items that add up to a total of $102.91 combining actual retail values and estimated values. What a great value!

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who prioritizes spending time outside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

The essential oil is probably to be used with the bracelet. I have one with lava stones, a bottle arrived with it. You add a drop or two to the lava stone then can smell the aroma throughout the day.

Ohhhh, you’re so right! Reaching in the far corners of my brain, I remember an old sub I used to receive that sent me crystal/stone jewelry, and I remember adding essential oils to lava rock beads. I had totally forgotten. Thanks for sharing!
