Some months are great, while others aren't so hot, but this month was pretty spectacular! In fact, I lost track of the month and finally sent the pieces back after receiving an email about potentially buying the entire set.

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and rental service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy whatever they love at a discounted price. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your ever-growing wishlist. Members can keep and wear the three pieces they receive for as long as they want, or they can switch out sets whenever they'd like. Rocksbox also offers a monthly credit so you can buy the pieces for less.

Concerned about cleanliness? Each piece is sterilized with alcohol jewelry cleaner using medical grade products and handled with jewelry experts wearing gloves.

This is a review of the monthly plan for $21, which includes shipping to the US only.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Just like other subscription boxes, when I signed up for Rocksbox I had to set up a style profile that asked me questions like my metal preference, and which necklace, earring, bracelet, and ring styles I liked the most.

Let's check out this month's delivery!

What I Received

Lele Sadoughi June Alexandrite Crystal Double Row Hoops - Retail Value $145, Member Price $145

About this item: Crafted in 14k gold plated brass, these Crystal Double Row Hoops feature Alexandrite crystals from the birthstone collection. Each pair features one row of round and one row of heart-shaped Alexandrite glass crystals, and measure at about 1" diameter. These custom earrings are available in 9 different birthstones, and they can be stored in a custom birthstone foil printed pouch. When I checked Lele Sadoughi's site, they didn't have earrings featuring Peridot, which is August's (and my) birthstone.

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Review: Loved the earrings and they complimented all my pink pieces really well! The pink hue is so subtle, they almost look like they're made of clear crystal.

Demifine By Rocksbox 18k Gold Plated Large Pave Hoops - Retail Price $100, Member Price $90

About this item: Classic hoops shine brighter than ever with the 18k Gold Plated Large Pave Hoops from Demifine by Rocksbox. These earrings feature high polish, 18k gold-plating over sterling silver with pave diamonds. They're relatively light and measure at a little over an inch and a half in length.

Condition: Perfect!

Review: After being targeted with a bunch of discounts, I bought the earrings.

Lele Sadoughi Crystal Lily Earrings - Retail Value $168, Member Price $168

About this item: These Crystal Lily Earrings by Lele Sadoughi are crafted in a large black lily shape in jet acetate with a round pave center. Measuring at approximately 3" x 2.5", they're a little clunky, but not very heavy.

Condition: Perfect!

Review: They may be oversized, a bit clunky, and heavy, but I loved them so much; I ordered another pair for December.

The Verdict

This month was quite awesome, and if I weren't worried about finances, I would've considered buying the entire set. I ended up buying the Demifine by Rocksbox 18k Gold Plated Large Pave Hoops since I had a credit and the items in my set were an extra 25% off for the holidays. The earrings were $90, but with all the discounts, I paid $32 which isn't a bad deal! Let's hope they hold up.

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21 per month. At retail, the three pieces would've cost me $403. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing including the buy-all-three-items $10 discount, the $21 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month which goes towards your purchases), and my Rose Gold Rewards discount of $20.15 the total price for the three items goes down to $351.85.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, help guide the Rocksbox stylists and add your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.

I love the green blouses that you’re wearing with the first 2 pairs of earrings. Good color

August is my birthmonth as well! It’s apparently the most common birth month
