CatLadyBox is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The $34.99 per month CatLadyBox has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc., while the $39.99 per month Crazy CatLadyBox contains everything from the CatLadyBox plus a few items just for cats.

This is a review of the Crazy CatLadyBox.

First Impressions

As soon as the box arrives, you know your cat-loving heart is in for a good time. Everything arrives in a brown cardboard box with a black cat silhouette on it. Once you open it up, you can expect to find anything from cat-themed jewelry, clothes, home decor, and more. If you subscribe to the Crazy CatLadyBox, you'll also get a few treats for your furbaby, too.

This box does come with an info sheet, and the other side features custom artwork. This month's artist is Rachel Parker!

We also got a card reminding us that next month will be the subscription's special black cat box! I am so excited. My first CatLadyBox ever was the black cat box two years ago, and the sweatshirt that came inside it is still one of my all-time favorite subscription box items.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Crazy Cat Lady Box

First, let's meet the cat that will be helping me to review this box. If you've been reading my MSA reviews for a while, you may remember my old cat, Duchess. Duchess is no longer here with me, and after a few months, I felt ready to get another cat companion. Meet Sir Goose! I adopted him when he was one month and twenty-two days old, and he was 2.2 pounds. Now he is two years old and he loves toys—I have yet to find a toy he won't play with.

Goose turned two at the beginning of April, and he weighs in at fourteen pounds! He's not overweight though, per his vet- he is just a proportionally big boy.

Catnap Enthusiast Tee - Value $22.99

I have amassed quite the cat-themed tee collection, and yet they still manage to be fun new ones every month. I like these shirts because they’re a little thicker and don’t feel cheaply made, and they’re cut longer in the torso which I really like. I sacrificed two of my CatLadyBox shirts to turn into muscle tees this past month because it was so hot I couldn’t bear wearing sleeves but I still wanted to be comfortable, and these worked perfectly for that, too. I suspect the sleeves will stay on this one, as I love both the color purple and catnips.

Cat Ceramic Bowl Set - Value $18.99 (similar product linked)

These ceramic bowls feel really well made! I like that I can use them to feed myself or to feed Goose. When Goose is left alone for a few days because I am out of town I always like to leave out extra food in addition to his normal automatic feeder just to be on the safe side, and I am going to set these aside to use them for that purpose.

Cat Collage Scarf - Value $16.99

This scarf has quite the collage of cats. I don’t actually really wear scarves ever, so I’m a bit at a loss as to how to put this to good use. I do love that there’s an orange cat among the diverse cat population on this tee- it looks like Goose!

Now onto Goose’s favorite part.. the toys!

Cara the Crow Catnip Toy - Value $5.99

This crow toy is just adorable- I love its big eye. Its round avian body is perfect for being batted across the floor during playtime, too.

Fluffy Flames Firewood Catnip Toy - Value $4.99

I think this firewood flames catnip toy is really creative, with the orange and yellow feathers being the “flames” atop the catnip-stuffed logs. Goose loves to rub his face on feathery toys, so I knew this one would be a hit.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99 per month (with a 6-month plan -- month to month is $43.99) + free US shipping.

ACTIVE DEAL: 20% off your first box

Value Breakdown:

  • Shirt: $22.99
  • Bowls: $18.99
  • Scarf: $16.99
  • Fluffy Flames Toy: $4.99
  • Cara the Crow Toy: $5.99

Everything in this box is bespoke to the subscription, so I have to go by listed values (though some of the products will be available for sale in the CatLadyBox shop!). The values add up to $69.95 this month.

Key Takeaways

I can always count on CatLadyBox to produce a fun box. I wouldn't call this my favorite box ever from them, but I do quite like the quality of the bowls and the catnap tee. While you may not love every single thing 100% of the time, I find myself very happy with the mix of whimsy and practical goods that arrive on my doorstep, all with a fun cat theme. If you're looking for fun cat-themed items you can enjoy around your home and share with your feline friend, you're going to see a lot more value in this box than someone who is going strictly off of listed values (or who desires brand name products in a box).

Other Things You Should Know

Where does the CatLadyBox ship to? The US (free to the lower 48, an additional fee for Alaska or Hawaii), the UK, and Canada.

Do I have to have a cat to enjoy this subscription? Nope! If you love cats but don't have one of your own, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun- you can subscribe to the CatLadyBox, which will come with the same products as the Crazy CatLadyBox sans the cat toys.

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No. Sign up before the end of September to receive the October Black Cat box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
