Hi, Vanessa! This Ipsy collection is filled with some of her favorite beauty products.

The Items

My items arrived in a pink Ipsy box. Let's see what Vanessa picked for us in this collection!

This icon box was curated by Vanessa to inspire each of us to live life well.

Let's see what arrived:

amika The Kure Multi-Task Hair Repair Treatment, 6.7 fl oz – Retail Value $30

I have very thick, long, curly hair that is always in need of extra hydration. After a long spring and summer in the sun and at the pool, my hair really needed some TLC so I was super excited to see this product. After using, I think this is a great product, but not for my hair type. It is a very light treatment that focuses on strengthening, reducing damage, and provide your hair with a keratin-like benefit. It says you can apply after conditioning, leave in for at least one minute, and then rinse or keep it in to use as a leave-in. Since my hair had a lot of dryness, I decided to use it after my conditioner and leave it in.

Unfortunately, I couldn't brush through my hair with this in and ended up having to still use my usual leave-in to be able to brush through. The thing that I don't love about keratin products is how it makes my hair feel, it gives it this almost stringy feeling as though something is in my hair that needs to be washed out. So my hair didn't feel hydrated, instead it felt thick and dry. While this product really is not for me, this could be a great treatment for another hair type to use that could help with damage and increase smoothness.

Jurlique Rose Body Oil, 3.3 fl oz. – Retail Value $48

I am obsessed with this body oil! The rose scent is so beautiful, strong without being overwhelming. I've been using this on my feet and hands every night before I go to bed. If I happen to take a shower before bed I'll use a bit more on my legs and arms, let me tell you it is so relaxing. The oil is made with jojoba and macadamia oil to give my skin a deep hydration that helps my skin from any moisture loss. A little really goes a long way with this oil and it really is best applied to damp skin if you can. Getting into bed smelling like roses with moisturized feet has honestly been a treat I didn't know I needed.

tarte Maracuja Juicy Glow Highlighting Stick – Retail Value $29

I love that this highlighter is a click and go stick. This is really slim so you can easily toss it in a bag or take it when you travel. I also really enjoy that it is a thin application which made it really easy to glide on and fit the contours of my face nicely. It does have a lighter coverage so I had a hard time really capturing the product on me in photos.

Overall though I thought this gave me a nice subtle highlight and glow that lasted nicely throughout the day, even in the summer heat. This really is a great product to have in my makeup bag that I know I will be able to get a lot of use out of.

HUDA BEAUTY LEGIT LASHES Double-Ended Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara, 0.28 fl oz. – Retail Value $31

I've been on the hunt for a new mascara so I knew I had to select this double-ended one for my Icon box. You can use both ends together to curl and lengthen or on their own. Each side gives you a matte finish that wears well all day long. In the photo I used the curl side and really loved how my lashes looked. When I used the volume side on its own I felt like I didn't get the best coverage though so maybe using both sides together might be the way to go! Either way, I now have a really great mascara that can give me volume and curl all in one!

Joanna Vargas Magic Serum, 1 fl oz. – Retail Value $85

This serum is great because it works to combat dullness, dryness, and and dehydration (I have all 3). You can use one to two pumps morning and night to help soothe and nourish your skin. This is a cream-based serum so a little bit will do and it drinks right into my skin without me feeling sticky. I've noticed that my skin has been looking very healthy lately since I've been using this, and it pairs really well with my other skincare products. Since I have such dry skin I love being able to add a quality product that will work to combat my skins dryness and keep me glowing!

ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, 1.6 fl oz. - Retail Value $138

I absolutely love Elemis products, everything I have ever tried has changed my skin, but I really do not like the price tag. So when I can get a product like this, I will take it! This anti-wrinkle moisturizer improves your skins hydration within one hour while still being extremely light-weight. While it hydrates, it is also working to smooth, with the ability to reduce fine lines and wrinkles within two weeks. I haven't been using this for two weeks yet, but I can already see a big difference in my skin. My makeup is going on smoother, my skin doesn't feel tight by the evening, and I have this light glow that tells me I am hydrated! I can't wait to see the continued results of this amazing product.

KNOW Glacial Bay Clay Mask, 1.7 fl oz. - Retail Value $45

I will say, I was a little skeptical of this mask at first. I've tried clay masks before and have never had good results. They are typically for harsh on my skin and cause a lot of extra dryness (I'm already super dry so I don't need to cause more). So I reluctantly applied a thin layer of the mask to clean/dry skin and watched The Summer I Turned Pretty while I waited 10 minutes before rinsing the mask off. Oh my did this mask work for me! My skin felt instantly smooth, refreshed, and my makeup went on like butter the next day. Like honestly, I had a glow for days after using this!

The mask is made with mineral-infused colloidal clay that is harvested from an active glacier. The mask works to draw out impurities and tighten pores. This mask is made for oily and acne-prone skin, so if you are like me and already dry, it is best to only use this mask 1-2 times a week. I am so happy this mask has come into my life!

KEYS SOULCARE Golden Cleanser, 5.75 fl oz. - Retail Value $22

This is the most beautiful cleanser bottle I think I will ever own. Even my husband asked if it was face wash he could use! This cleanser is made with Manuka honey to nourish and hydrate, turmeric to soothe, chamomile, along with a scent of sage and oat milk. I will start by saying that the scent of this wash is pretty strong. It almost has a perfume scent to it that made me worry that it might cause my skin to breakout.

So far it hasn't though and I haven't felt any burning or redness during or after using. It does a great job at removing my makeup, leaving my skin feeling clean while still feeling hydrated. Overall I can't say that I would order this product again since the smell is a lot for me, but I am happy with the results and to have this pretty bottle in my shower.

ICONIC LONDON Lip & Cheek Cream Trio - Retail Value $35

This lip and cheek trio is so beautiful! The compact is pretty large so not something I would travel with or take in my purse, but the colors are lovely and great for every day wear. I pretty much only use cream blushes now so I am happy to have three very different shades. The product gives a very dewy look and the colors can be pretty flush so you might need to use a good amount depending on how vibrant you want your lips and cheeks to be. Overall this is a great palette that I know I will have for years and can use from season to season.

Verdict

My first Ipsy Icon Box curation was really fun! The value is absolutely there since everything comes in full-size bottles. I mean, the Elemis cream alone was worth it for me this month. I really loved the mix of products as well, giving us a little bit of beauty and skincare (your box might be different based on your selects). Reading why Vanessa picked certain products was fun to see as well, it helped me understand her thought process when curating each item. While every product wasn't exactly for me, I still enjoyed being able to test new products and learn about new brands. But really I am coming away with some amazing products that are going to last me a while and will help improve my skin, a huge win!

The Elemis cream was part of Beauty Boost, it was your ninth product, and not part of the icon box. It has an additional charge.
