This subscription comes packaged in a blue and white box, and when you open it you find the items thoughtfully tucked inside of sizzle and tissue paper and sealed with a sticker. Bath Bevy "Sea Sun Sand” August 2023 Review

Just Beachy Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

I loved how this bath bomb was created to actually look like a beach, with the pale tan of sand and then the changing blue colors of the ocean water. It’s scented with a floral blend of carnations, lily of the valley, hyacinth, oak moss, and white musk, and I like how it smelled nice without being overpowering.

Two Wild Hares Lime in the Coconut Bath Fizzy Dust - Retail Value $10

This bath fizzy dust by Two Wild Hares is like bath bomb powder you get to add to your water for colorful fun, and it’s scented with zesty lime and creamy coconut. I love that it has big chunks of green sea salt mixed throughout, which adds a fun texture element to this fine powder.

Whipped Up Wonderful Loopy Fruits Bubble Taffy - Retail Value $13

I have used quite a few of these Whipped Up Wonderful bubble taffies thanks to my Bath Bevy subscription, and I am always happy to see them pop up again in the monthly box- I think they’re the bee's knees. Think of these as individual portions of a bubble bar that you crumble under running water to get a mountain of bubbles- it’s so much more convenient than breaking off a chunk from a bigger bubble bar and is absolutely perfect for traveling. I spent at least one weekend a month in 2022 traveling to visit my partner who was on active duty, and I loved being able to have these in my suitcase and looking forward to bubble baths without worrying about any liquids spilling or any other messes. I can thank these sweetly-smelling bubble taffies for my current cereal craving, too.

Mermaid Kisses Cupcake Bath Bomb - Retail Value $10

I normally look forward to when we receive a cupcake bath bomb in our box- the “cake” part is a bath bomb, while the frosting is a bubble bar you crumble under running water for bubbles. This one is even topped with a small mermaid’s tail crafted out of soap! It looks darling, but I was a little disappointed when I actually used it because the bubble frosting didn’t really make bubbles for me. That’s not par for the course with the typical cupcake bath bombs from Bath Bevy, and I’ve used at least a handful up to now with no issue so I think this is a one-off. It’s scented with notes of strawberry, blackcurrant, and amber.

Here it is in action. The bath bomb part of this had no problem fizzing into action and giving me vibrant purple water (that drained away and didn’t stain my tub).

Sea Spa Bubble Bath - Retail Value $12

I am a pretty big fan of the Bath Bevy bubble bath formula- it just reliably produces lots of bubbles, and I can always count on it to smell nice. Plus, as someone whose skin occasionally decides to go haywire for some reason, I’ve never had this cause any irritation. This month’s bubble bath is scented with notes of leafy greens, florals, citrus, amber, basil, and musk. You can see it in action below where I paired it with the vitamin sea bath bomb.

Vitamin Sea Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

This vibrantly blue bath bomb was a treat. It’s scented with “ozone,” sea salt, orange, and rose and I love how fresh and uplifting this scent is without being aggressively strong. Plus, while I may have aggressively plopped this into my bathtub causing some blue water drops to fly, I am happy to report there were no blue water drop stains anywhere.

Here it is in action paired with the sea spa bubble bath.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $43.21 per month + $7.95 shipping.

Value Breakdown: Everything in this box is handmade by Bath Bevy or another small business. Bath Bevy will typically sell these products individually on the website, and everything this month added up to $61.

Key Takeaways

I thought this month's Bath Bevy box was another great box. It's too hot and humid to do anything in New Orleans other than look forward to my honeymoon, and this box had everything I needed to prepare for the beach I will eventually be on. It was a rarity for this month's box to not include a soap scrub, but I didn't mind that it was missing and thought there were a lot of fun bath products. Anyone who enjoys taking baths (especially baths with fun, creative scents) would have enjoyed this month's b0x.

This is the subscription for someone looking to add a little extra luxury to their monthly bath routine with the added bonus of being surprised by the products curated around a fun theme. If you don't take baths, don't let that deter you from subscribing- Bath Bevy also offers a "tubless" subscription. If you're a fan of artisan bath products this is a subscription box worth checking out- in this new year you deserve a little extra self care.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
