This is a review for the $42.00 Crystal Variety box.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation! The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in several feet of sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Not surprisingly, they arrived in perfect condition.

The insert included in the box was a quick note from Adam, the owner of Enchanted Crystal, explaining that their website and Instagram account are undergoing exciting changes. I look forward to the website especially; I’m hoping for an index of the minerals they feature.

The Crystals

Red Calcite

Red Calcite is one of the most common minerals on Earth; it’s found on every continent in the world and is the basis of marble and limestone. While Red Calcite can vary in color, this piece is an interesting shade of reddish brown.

Metaphysically, Red Calcite is thought to increase energy, balance hormones in females and will help you protect your physical and emotional boundaries. It’s even said to be able to protect you from negative energy by sending that bad energy back to the sender!

Diopside (Rare)

This is such a cool looking stone; when I look at it I picture a garden island topped with lush mountains. Not surprisingly, this is quite fitting as it’s regarded as a stone for those who want to care for mother Earth. Diopside is tied to the heart chakra and has a gentle energy that supports gratitude and positive energy.

Canadian Emberlite (Rare)

I’ve never heard of Emberlite and initially, I had a difficult time finding a lot about it online. Eventually, the information that I did find I believe to be incredibly fascinating.

According to an article by Andrea James, “Certain forms of the igneous rock syenite are nicknamed Emberlite because they contain sodalite, causing them to fluoresce under black light. Glaciers deposited lots of them in the Lake Superior basin, where rock hunters go out at night to find them.”

I was looking for “Emberlite,” but after some research, I found that this stone is more commonly known as “Yooperlite.” The name Yooperlite has been trademarked, though, leading most people to refer to it as Emberlite. I don’t have a black light, so I can’t say if it actually fluoresces, but I’m very motivated to find out!

Metaphysically, Emberlite is thought to help prevent water retention, regulate blood pressure and heart rate and can reduce headaches and inflammation. Emberlite is also said to provide relief from stress, anxiety and depression as well as boost physical energy.

Hiddenite (Rare)

These two pieces of Hiddenite are really beautiful. Hiddenite deposits are most often found in the USA, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Europe, Brazil, and Madagascar. It comes in green or yellow shades; so it’s a bonus that I have one of each.

Metaphysically, it’s believed that Hiddenite has a lot of uses. The ones that stand out most to me are its ability to help foster inner strength and courage while being protective of your energy. It’s also said to be helpful in ending addictions and attachments to unnecessary physical objects.

Druzy Calcite (Rare)

I must have taken 50 photographs of this piece of Druzy Calcite! It’s the most beautiful stone I’ve ever seen; my photos don’t do it justice. It’s so sparkly that I couldn’t get the camera to focus on all of the magnificent little crystals.

According to a crystal reference website, “Druzy Crystal is a composition of tiny sparkling crystals on the surface of a rather bulky crystalline body.” It’s these tiny crystals that I found both incredibly captivating and extremely difficult to photograph.

Metaphysically, Druzy crystals are said to be most beneficial when used in group meditations and workshops. It’s believed to be useful in reducing stress, boosting the body’s healing properties as well as unblocking stuck energy. Aside from the benefits of the Druzy crystalline structure, Druzy Calcite also has similar benefits to the Red Calcite I wrote of earlier in this review. In short, its crystal structure and Calcite composition make it a doubly powerful stone. Plus, it’s now the most beautiful thing on my desk!

Selenite Wand

I own some Selenite beads, but this is the first “wand” I’ve ever seen. Like the Druzy Calcite, it’s difficult to capture its beauty in a photograph. I can’t really explain it, but it has an interesting feeling when I hold it. It’s very smooth and shiny but there’s something about it that defies description.

Selenite is a very soft stone and can break easily. It's also said to fluoresce under ultraviolet light; looks like I have an excuse to buy a UV lamp! I can’t imagine how beautiful a glowing wand would look!

Metaphysically, Selenite is said to be able to cleanse you and your environment of negative energy, making more positive energy available to you. Some also believe that Selenite can help you manifest inner strength, aid in achieving spiritual goals, and boost mental clarity. Useful AND beautiful: a great addition to my collection!

Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid

Each month, a new grid design is hand-crafted onto a sturdy cloth. This month’s pale grayish-periwinkle design reminds me of a field of flowers. It’s kind of like a Rorschach test: what do you see when you look at it?

Interesting to behold, but what exactly is a grid? After searching a bit, I found a great explanation. According to a blog from the Healing Crystals Company:

“A crystal grid involves the physical act of laying out one’s crystals in a pattern that is recognized in sacred metaphysics. This layout, combined with the user’s genuine intention, is thought to amplify the properties of the stones quite significantly, bringing greater benefit to the user or more successful outcomes.”

The Verdict

This is my seventh Variety box from Enchanted Crystal and I’m blown away. Not a single stone is a repeat for me and there were a few stand-outs. The wand is unlike anything I’ve held before and the Druzy Calcite is the most beautiful crystal I’ve ever seen.

If you’re like me, and still consider yourself a newbie to crystals, this is an awesome way to boost your collection! After 7 boxes, I now have a respectable assortment of beautiful crystals. I’m really enjoying researching all of these stones and dreaming of ways to display them. I'm so excited for next month!

While I’m not totally sold on all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I enjoy studying them and would love to believe in their ability to aid us! The more I learn, the more I respect and appreciate them, plus my home is now much more sparkly!
