Each Brown Sugar Box used to include a mini-magazine that highlights the theme of the box, lists the products included, and offers interesting and inspiring articles. The mini-magazine has gone digital, and now, you can easily scan the QR code using your phone and swipe through the digitized version via your web browser.

This month’s edition of the Brown Sugar Box is in honor of the box’s six-year anniversary. I didn’t realize they had been around for so long, but congrats to them, and many more! I’m very interested to see what kind of products were selected for such a special occasion as this.

IZZY AND LIV Brown Sugar Made Nutritional Facts Tee - Listed Value $25

This t-shirt is so cute and comfy! I’m a huge fan of the particular cut of this shirt; with rounded bottom edges, the cut is more flattering for me as a wide-hipped person. The design is clever, listing the nutrition facts of a Black girl. An unusual but fun design. I do, however, wish that the color was a bit less mustardy. Either a brighter yellow or something closer to gold would have been my preference, but regardless, I’ll be wearing this shirt. It’s perfect for running errands or hitting the gym.
BUBBLELICIOUS Watermelon Gum, 5-pc - Estimated Value $1
In honor of the box’s six-year anniversary, they chose to include this delightful delicacy of my childhood: Bubblelicious Watermelon Gum. As the story goes, a pack of this gum was included in the very first Brown Sugar Box, and so, it only made sense for it to be included here. It definitely transported me back to the good old days, and for that, I appreciate it. And believe it or not, the flavor still hits to this day (and it still doesn’t last nearly as long as it should, lol).
IZZY AND LIV Afro Allure Wall Tapestry - Listed Value $30

This tapestry is such a unique product inclusion! Although I love the pattern, I’m not someone who would be able to use this, so I’ll be looking for the perfect person to pass it on to. I have flighted exotic parrots, and they would be hanging all over this tapestry; plus, I’m a renter, so I don’t hang up much on the walls unless deemed a necessity. What I do appreciate is that the tapestry came with an adhesive mounting option, making it a non-permanent fixture for anyone who’d rather avoid putting holes in the wall. Such a nice, thoughtful addition to this month’s box. Subscribers could have received one of two designs: Lady of Range or Mane Xpression. I received ‘Mane Xpression.’
IZZY AND LIV Beautiful, Bold, and Zen Tank Top - Listed Value $25

I really like that this month’s box includes not only a t-shirt but a tank top as well. It feels like a nice quality top with a lightweight cotton fabric. Breathable and great for working out. The design on the top is vibrant and eye-catching. I truly love the color of the shirt, and I thought it was a great selection for a springtime box. Thrilled to have this!
IZZY AND LIV Beauty Beat Premium Brush Set with Case, 7-pc - Listed Value $35

I really like this little bag! In fact, I’ve started using it already and have my current set of makeup brushes stowed in there right now. The brushes that come with the case have a soft enough feel to them, and the design on the handles are adorable. I really love how the design matches the case too. I was thrilled to see a spoolie included in this brush set; I’ve been needing a new one for quite a while. Overall, the case is really nice for holding brushes. All the other bags and cases I have tend to be just a touch too short for my makeup brushes, leaving them with bent bristles, which is frustrating. Subscribers could have received one of three sets: a navy, gold, or brown pouch. I received the gold pouch.

What a fun lip gloss set! I really love that each gloss is dual-ended, with a shimmer and a matte on either end. The variety between the three shades is great. Suitable for a variety of events, from work meetings, to a night out with the girls, and better yet, the dual-ended gloss gives you access to both looks while carrying around only a single lip product. The formula applies smoothly, and although the staying power isn’t the best, it definitely serves to bring a nice pop of color to your lips.

Verdict
This was an awesome month for Brown Sugar Box! The main highlight for me was the fact that this box included not one but two shirts, and both with cute designs. Both the t-shirt and the tank top are going to get their fair share of use from me, that’s for sure. I love the blast to the past from Bubblelicious! A welcome dose of nostalgia and a delightful flavor for a few precious minutes, lol. I’m thrilled to now have a case that perfectly fits my makeup brushes. The gold color is very nice, and the brushes that come with the case have a cute design and feel soft to the touch. Although I’ll be passing along the tapestry to someone in my life, I think it was a thoughtful inclusion to this month’s box. I love the design and the bright pops of color. Lastly, the lip gloss set… I’m definitely a fan of ‘two birds, one stone,’ so I appreciate the innovative dual ends that give me both a shimmer and a matte in one. Overall, I thought this was a great box! The product curation was well varied, and the value is there.
