First Impressions

My typical white box arrives beautifully packaged.

Included were helpful cards and a booklet with loads of details about this box featuring two formulas from Ayuna.

The Products

Eye Serum, 15 mL - Retail Value $150

My eyes need a little TLC right now, so I was thrilled to see an eye serum in this month's delivery. I recently was treated to a "vampire facial" which is the cute name for a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) microneedling treatment. They basically draw some blood and spin it in a machine to separate the liquid part (plasma) from the red and white blood cells. The extracted plasma is then applied using a micro-needling pen. It was intense. But my face is looking really great, after a full week of being as red as a strawberry. With the rest of my face looking awesome, my eyes were looking like they needed a treat! This serum formula contains caffeine, one of my favorite AM eye product ingredients because it immediately wakes up my eye areas and tightens the skin. This formula also has anti-aging green tea. Normally I would be pretty iffy on the inclusion of alcohol, but Ayuna explains this ingredient was added to help the penetration of the phospholipids inside and the description assures that it will not cause dryness. I am skeptical, but for the last week, I will admit that I haven't experienced dryness or redness and I am really enjoying this eye serum.

Nectar Vivifying Skin-D Treatment, 15 mL - Retail Value $78

I first encountered this formula back in the January 2022 delivery and, honestly, I remember loving it:

The main thing the brand is promoting here is vitamin D from a succulent called "Living Stones". As someone who has grown these (temperamental) little plants, I find it quite charming that a plant that loves the sun enough to have a sheer "window" on top to let light in is the source of a vitamin so closely associated with sunlight. Vitamin D is a great anti-inflammatory for skin, which means if you are prone to redness, it is totally worth trying. It also helps boost the skin's defenses and promotes cell growth. The formula also has other great things like anti-aging fruit antioxidants, moisturizers, and ferments. Unlike the cream last year, this one is a medium weight that absorbs very nicely and feels great. I did notice a nice velvet finish and an overall brightened look from using this, but nothing that I wouldn't expect from a good-quality moisturizer. I did like the scent which was a mix of literally everything to my nose: florals, woods, citrus, and spice. It actually smells exactly like you would expect when you look at the color.

My main gripe about the previous delivery is that the clay vessel (though lovely) wasn't very airtight. And the large amount of product inside kind of dried out eventually. So, while this month's version might feel a little, well, dinky, a little goes a long way. I am quite happy to revisit this formula.

Beauty Heroes delivered two stellar products this month. And who doesn't love it when you need an eye serum and POOF an eye serum appears? The value is great too: $228 for a cost of $58.95.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
