First Impressions

This month's box is "The Skin Therapy Box".

Made by Kinder is a new skincare endeavor by the fab team at Kinder Beauty. I was lucky enough to try their Starter Kit (pictured above) this month, and now I am hooked. Check out my review here!

Kinder Beauty recently changed the format of their boxes. They have embraced a "choose your own adventure" approach (yay!), so now Kinder offers 3 base or "foundation" products, and you can choose one product from each of two categories. Kinder was kind enough to send us each product in both categories so you can better look at this month's choices.

The Choices

The first category included a choice of two products. Choose between Evio Beauty PORE-FECT Primer ($24 value) and ShiKai CBD Body Lotion ($9.99 value).

In the second choice category, you get to choose one of three products including  Kitsch Long Diamond Bobby Pins ($12 value), Kitsch Recycled Plastic Small 2pc Claw Clips ($8 value), or Copina Co. Plant Based Collagen Support Drink Blend Sticks ($5.98 value).

My Choices

Shikai CBD Body Lotion - Retail Value - $9.99

This CBD lotion was my first choice; I've always wanted to try a topical CBD for minor aches and pains, but I never knew where to dive in with such a vast market. I've had a sore neck for weeks, ever since my toddler started crawling into my bed with me in the middle of the night. I noticed a difference in tension a few minutes after application, and I am not disappointed! I am actually surprised because this applied just like a lotion, no greasy residue or lingering menthol smell; it is the easiest fix to fast relief I've tried, yet. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone feeling a little achy.

Kitsch Long Diamond Bobby Pins - Retail Value - $12.00

My second choice comes from a deep love of mixed metals. I've always been on board with mixed metals, mostly because I love each equally, and I can never choose a favorite. I love these for pinning my almost-grown-out bangs out of my face; they are definitely more classy than your average bobby pin, and they provide just the right amount of hold.

Foundation Products

Snow Fox Skincare Multi-Ceramide Lavender & Coconut Sleeping Mask - Retail Value - $48.00

Since the beginning of time, I've been plagued with the driest skin. Each winter it gets harder and harder to manage, so I love trying special treatments to kick this dryness to the curb. The texture of this cream feels whipped, but it also has a satisfying thickness to it. There are five different ceramides in this gem and four types of hyaluronic acid, all aiding in hydration and soothing and protecting the skin. There is a faint lavender fragrance to this sleeping mask, but it is one of the last ingredients, so I don't think it will make my sensitive skin reactive. I've left this mask on for the last two nights, and my face has felt nourished and comfortably hydrated.

Earth Harbor Oasis Deep Pore Gel Cleanser - Retail Value - $18.00

Maybe this is odd, but I've gone several weeks without a face cleanser. I have been using Bioderma at night to remove my makeup, and then I splash my face with water, pat it dry, then onto skincare. Even though I've never been wowed by a cleanser, I didn't mind this one. Although it has mild BHA, the exfoliating properties didn't make my face feel tight or stripped. Earth Harbor is one of my favorite skincare brands, thanks to Kinder Beauty, so I'll likely keep on using this.

Dr. Botanicals Turmeric Superfood Restoring Treatment Mask - Retail Value - $9.99

This face mask did a bang-up job with my tired skin. I work this before bed last night, and after I rinsed, my face looked like it hasn't been up for the last 16 hours chasing little ones around a field during a rigorous egg hunt. My complexion looked a little brighter, and I think it provided a little hydration as well.

I am sporting all of the skin care on my hand; going clockwise, I have the Earth Harbor cleanser, Dr Botanicals mask, Snow Fox sleeping mask, and last but not least the Shikai CBD lotion.

The Verdict

This month's Kinder Beauty Box was full of awesome finds. I am especially excited for Snow Fox Skincare's moisturizer and Dr. Botanicals mask, but I know I will also be using my new hair pins and face wash. The CBD lotion, however, gets the MVP award, and I am definitely looking into purchasing a full-size tube when this one runs out. This month’s box variation, including my two chosen products, has a retail value of $97.98, which is an excellent value for its cost of $26.

I just received this month’s box and have already tried (and loved) the Earth Harbor cleanser. Looking forward to trying the other items as well. I have to say, Kinder Beauty has been knocking it out of the park lately. The move to multiple choices each month has been fantastic. This is the only beauty subscription box I’ve kept longer than a few months. It’s introduced me to some wonderful brands and products. Plus, their customer service is top-notch. Highly recommend!

I’m looking forward to trying the Snow Fox product. I was excited to see this brand in the box.
