Since February was a short month, I lost track of time! So, let's get right to the reviews.

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and rental service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy whatever they love at a discounted price. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your ever-growing wishlist. Members can keep and wear the three pieces they receive for as long as they want, or they can switch out sets whenever they'd like. Rocksbox also offers a monthly credit so you can buy the pieces for less.

Concerned about cleanliness? Each piece is sterilized with alcohol jewelry cleaner using medical grade products and handled with jewelry experts wearing gloves.

This is a review of the monthly plan for $21, which includes shipping to the US only.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Just like other subscription boxes, when I signed up for Rocksbox I had to set up a style profile that asked me questions like my metal preference, and which necklace, earring, bracelet, and ring styles I liked the most.

Let's check out this month's delivery!

What I Received

Kendra Scott Haven Heart Hoops - Retail Value $70, Member Price $58

About this item: Crafted in 14k gold-plated brass with heart crystals, these lightweight Kendra Scott earrings are a pair to love. They are about 1.5" in diameter and feature pave accents.

Condition: Excellent.

Review: I rented the Kendra Scott Heart Hoops because of Valentine's Day, and I got a lot of wear out of them. The heart designs are pretty subtle, and the crystals add a nice touch. They're also lightweight, but my hair kept getting caught in the opening.

Lele Sadoughi Triple Pearl Ring - Retail Price $150, Member Price $144

About this item: Crafted in 14k-gold-plated brass, Lele Sadoughi's Triple Pearl Ring features three oversized faux pearls and measure at 1" diameter.

Condition: Excellent.

Review: While the ring is oversized and the sizing isn't as adjustable as they claim, it's a fun piece and I loved the combo with the earrings.

Lele Sadoughi Pearl Snake Chain Earrings - Retail Value $165, Member Price $158

About this item: Lele Sadoughi's Pearl Snack Chain Earrings are 14k-gold-plated drop earrings featuring two large round pearls separated by a thick linear snake chain. They measure at 2 1/4" long and are a bit on the heavier side.

Condition: Like new.

Review: These standout earrings got a lot of compliments! They paired perfectly with the Ronny Kobo dress I rented for an event, and they're great to play dress up. Big fan, but they are a little heavy and clunky.

The Verdict

You've probably noticed I've been renting a lot of the same designers and it's because many of the other designer items I've tried just look and feel cheap.

In the past, I mentioned I like to rent more expensive items to get the most bang for my buck, and if you're paying for a subscription, you want to make sure you get your money's worth. I've found that some of the lesser-known designers like Luv AJ and Perry Street and Slate feel like jewelry you'd get at Claire's Boutique, and it's just not worth it.

Rocksbox just launched Mignonne Gavigan and her pieces have already made their way to my wish-list. Stay tuned!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $385. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing including the buy-all-three-items $10 discount, the $10 Forever Credit, the $21 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases), and my Rose Gold Rewards discount of $19.25, the total price for all three items goes down to $299.75.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, help guide the Rocksbox stylists and add your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.
