Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

My Subscription Addiction received this box free for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review for the $16.00 Crystal of the Month subscription.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation! The crystals were carefully packaged: they were nestled in several feet of white paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising, then, that they arrived in perfect condition.

The first insert included in the box is a quick note from Adam, the owner of Enchanted Crystal, revealing that he’ll be going to the Tucson Gem Show next month, and asking subscribers for requests of what they’d like to see in future boxes. The Tucson Gem Show is the highlight of the gem world in America so I’m excited to see what goodies the Enchanted Crystal team comes back with!

The other insert includes some information about this month’s crystals.

The Crystals

Madagascar Amethyst & Blue Calcite  (Bonus Crystals)

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more!

The bonus crystals I received were 3 small chunks of Amethyst from Madagascar and a collection of pieces of Blue Calcite.

Amethyst is a purple variety of Quartz and one of the most popular crystals available. Metaphysically, it’s thought to have the ability to create a protective bubble that increases physical energy and promotes mental clarity. Because it helps to raise the frequency of our energy, it can also provide comfort by relieving stress while awakening your intuition.

Calcite is found on every continent, but Blue Calcite is only found in a few places on Earth (including Mexico and South Africa). Blue Calcite is said to be a strong provider of relaxation and inner peace because it changes negative energy into positive energy. Benefits of using it include relief from anxiety, depression and an increased ability to interpret dreams.

These beautiful crystals are a great way to start this box. Now, on to the main event!

Botryoidal Chalcedony

February’s star crystal is Botryoidal Chalcedony, which is a member of the quartz family. Like quartz, it’s composed of silica dioxide, however, it’s in a non-traditional form of quartz, so it was given a different name. Chalcedony gets its name from the town, in Turkey, in which it was discovered in 1546.

Botryoidal isn’t a specific type of Chalcedony; instead, it refers to the spherical growth shape of the crystal. I’ll admit that these three specimens are unusual looking; strange, but kind of beautiful. They remind me a bit like what you’d find in the center of a geode, but in a smooth, rounded form.

Metaphysically, Chalcedony is thought to hold a lot of power that one can tap into during meditation in order to form connections and find answers within. It’s also said that Chalcedony stimulates the crown chakra which activates our ability to have prophetic dreams. Chalcedony can also strengthen mental ability and connect you to your higher self.

The Verdict

Whether you’re a believer in the metaphysical properties of stones and crystals, or just appreciate them for their natural beauty, they have a place in our life. I find the Madagascar Amethyst and Blue Calcite bonus crystals absolutely gorgeous. The colors are lovely: light and almost pastel which seem fitting for Easter. So much so that I think I’ll display them as part of my Easter decorations.

The Botryoidal Chalcedony crystals aren’t my favorite looking specimens, but looks aren’t always as important as use. Metaphysically, Botryoidal Chalcedony is a powerful stone to keep next to your bed if you want to channel your dreams and expand your psychic abilities while you sleep. Which I think can be useful to all of us.

If you’re interested in crystals, this is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal. I’m always excited to see what this box will contain and what beauty and knowledge lie within it!
