Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

My Subscription Addiction received this box free for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review for the $16.00 Crystal of the Month subscription.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation! The crystals were carefully packaged: they were nestled in several feet of white paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising, then, that they arrived in perfect condition.

The first insert included in the box is a quick note from Adam, the owner of Enchanted Crystal, revealing that he’ll be going to the Tucson Gem Show next month, and asking subscribers for requests of what they’d like to see in future boxes. The Tucson Gem Show is the highlight of the gem world in America so I’m excited to see what goodies the Enchanted Crystal team comes back with!

The other insert includes some great information that makes me truly appreciate this month’s crystal.

The Crystals

Tektite (Bonus Crystals)

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more!

The bonus crystals I received were 8 small pieces of Tektite, which is meteor impact glass. How cool is that? Tektite crystals are ancient pieces of silica-rich glass that were formed when meteors struck the Earth.

Tektite is said to resonate at a high frequency that can enhance the traits of whatever chakra it is held against. It’s believed that it can act as a receptor of knowledge and increase cognitive and psychic abilities.

What a great start! Now, on to the main event!

Bloodstone

January’s specimen is Bloodstone which is a member of the chalcedony family; it’s composed of the minerals quartz and hematite. Bloodstone gets its name from the reddish orange inclusions of iron oxide within the quartz, most commonly hematite. It’s also known as Heliotrope because of the similarity of color to heliotrope plants.

Cultures throughout history have prized Bloodstone. It’s considered an aphrodisiac in India, where it is ground up into a fine powder, and sold for a high price. The Greeks believed that whoever wore it would be given whatever they asked for. Christians revered bloodstone because the red inclusions were thought to be representations of the blood of Christ.

Metaphysically, Bloodstone is thought to strengthen willpower and courage; it can help us to replace negative energies with positive ones. It’s said that Bloodstone provokes thought and can even help with heart related illnesses.

The Verdict

Whether you’re a believer in the metaphysical properties of stones and crystals, or just appreciate them for their natural beauty, they have a place in our life. I find the Tektite bonus crystals incredibly cool because of their tie to meteorites and space. The Bloodstone tower is gorgeous; it looks so different from every angle. I’m not surprised that a vast number of cultures valued Bloodstone; both for its visual aesthetic as well as its metaphysical abilities.

Now that I’ve started my collection with Enchanted Crystal, I don’t want to stop collecting or learning about crystals. I really look forward to receiving this box each month!

If you’re interested in crystals, this is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal.
