What's Inside The Bag

So Susan Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, December 2022 - Retail Value $12

Another fish bag, and I am still all in. What a fun and funky pattern to start off the new year. Color Curate bags are big enough to carry touch up products, and they are easy to wipe clean at the end of the day.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Nebula Eyeshadow in Interstellar - Retail Value $18.oo

I received this product in a different color in December's bag, and here is what I had to say about it:

One of my absolute favorite eyeshadow formulas is cream to powder, and this performs a lot like those. Jelly Pong Pong describes the formula as an "intensely foiled spongy eyeshadow," and they are right on the money. I've had the most success applying this type of shadow with my fingertips. You can apply a very sheer wash of color or build it up to almost the shade you see in the pan. It is a lovely rose gold, perfect for a festive holiday look.

Trifle Cosmetics Cloudburst Silky Blush Palette - Retail Value $35.00

My complexion is ghastly without a wash of color on my cheeks. This palette gives you a variety of colors and tones to work with, but my favorite has to be the coral color on the left. It is the perfect pop of color on a drab winter day. This formula is very pigmented, which isn't my favorite since it is easy to go overboard with blush, but I went in very lightly, tapped the excess off of my brush, and it all worked out in the end.

So Susan Cosmetics Primal Instinct Skin Perfecting Primer - Retail Value $23.95

This primer isn't as perfecting as some I've tried in the past. Primer used to break me out a lot, but since I am aging rapidly (haha, sometimes it feels that way!), my face tends to tolerate some of these dimethicone-based primers a little better. I don't use them a lot since mask season started 3 years ago, but it is nice to have for a night out when you want your pores to get gone for the evening. It felt soft on my face and I think it helped my foundation stay put a little longer than usual.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait in Raccoon - Retail Value $12.00

This bold pink is just what I needed to perk up on a Wednesday in January. This lovely lipstick and balm hybrid goes on pigmented and has a gorgeous finish. It feels very comfortable on the lips, and even though you might have to touch this one up a little more often, I don't mind because it is just so easy to swipe on. The paper tube is so cute, too!

Oh hi! It's me with a full face from So Susan's picks this month. I am using the primer, blush palette, and eyeshadow from this month's bag. My favorite part of this look is definitely that pink lip! What do you think of this month's bag?

Verdict

This month's So Susan Color Curate was fun to unbox. I love that they switched it up from an eye palette to a cheek palette this month; I love having a variety of cheek colors, and all three colors are gorgeous.  I always love foiled eyeshadows and balmy lipsticks, so those two products were definitely winners as well. This month's bag's retail value comes to $100.95; you're getting five products for $20.95, which is a great value.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. I was skeptical of the blush palette and the boldness of the lipstick but everything wears really nice on you.

Cute bag this month!! I love the look you created — and your shirt! As a lip product obsessee, I agree that the lipstick (with its adorable packaging) looks like the winner this month!

Also, this line makes me laugh … I think as society we need to use the word “ghastly” more!

“My complexion is ghastly without a wash of color on my cheeks.” 😂 But truly, you are lovely!
