First Impressions

Kinder Beauty sends out two box variations each month. This is a review of "Fresh Faced" for January 2023. Kinder Beauty sends a box guide each month listing the contents of your box, and you can visit kinderbeauty.com/mybox for tips and tricks on how to use your new products.

What's Inside This Box

ShiKai Relax Lavender Bamboo Scrub - Retail Value - $11.99

Time to scrub away 2022 with plant extracts, bamboo, and alpha hydroxy acids. I really can't get enough of this laid-back lavender fragrance and gentle exfoliation. This is the perfect scrub to use before a close shave; it doesn't leave an oily residue behind, yet it moisturizes and leaves your skin feeling soft and clean.

Collective Laboratories Hair Growth Activating Serum - Retail Value - $47.00

I've never received a hair growth serum in a subscription box before, so this is an exciting find for me. Ginseng and biotin help to stimulate the scalp by increasing blood flow. This serum also promises to strengthen your strands and prevent breakage while also regulating the scalp. This sounds like a fantastic product to keep postpartum hair loss at bay! When I applied this to towel-dried hair, it created a warm sensation which actually felt pretty nice. I used my regular styling tools to fix my hair for the day, and this product didn't weigh my hair down at all.

Pure Am Beauty Amino Acid Mild Cleanser - Retail Value - $12.00

Salicylic acid saved my skin when masks came around in 2020, and I still use a cleanser with SA three years later. It helps to keep my skin clear and any breakouts mild. This cleanser is gentle on my skin and doesn't feel like it is sucking the moisture from it like a lot of exfoliating cleansers can. It also creates a nice foam when you add water, so you feel extra squeaky clean.

Kinder Beauty Embroidered Spa Headband - Retail Value - $18.00

When you're someone who is just growing out her bangs, this accessory is essential during your morning and evening skin routines, and Kinder Beauty couldn't have made this headband any nicer. It feels like a tender hug for the skull; the fabric is soft, and the stretch is perfectly balanced - not too tight, yet it keeps itself in place. This is hands down my favorite headband, and I'd absolutely invest in another if Kinder ends up listing it for sale.

Estate Cosmetics Precision Felt Tip Liquid Liner  - Retail Value - $12.00

Black liner is just one of those classic products that you can't really have enough of, and I get excited to try new ones because who knows when you will meet your next favorite. Well, this is a great contender for my all-time favorite, Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner. It is super black, very much budge-proof, and the tip is a little bendy which means it is a little more forgiving if you're not an expert at applying the stuff. I couldn't believe how long this lasted, especially through the cold I've had over the last few days. My eyes have been watering nonstop, and even though my mascara ran down my face, my liner totally stayed put.

Super black with a flexible tip is definitely a win! This liner is the best I've found in a long time.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I just heard that Kinder might be moving to allow more box customization. Does anyone know anything about this?

I was on the fence on getting this box, I skipped it but wanted that headband so bad. I just didn’t need cleansers or scrubs.

First, I love your magnetic nail polish. What brand is it?

Second, I haven’t tried the other products, but I am loving the Pure AM cleanser. It leaves my skin quite soft.
