Each Brown Sugar Box used to include a mini-magazine that highlights the theme of the box, lists the products included, and offers interesting and inspiring articles. The mini-magazine has gone digital, and now, you can easily scan the QR code using your phone and swipe through the digitized version via your web browser.
This month’s box is the Cozy, Comfy, Cool Edition. How exciting! I love being cozy all year long but it hits different during the colder months, and I can’t wait to see what goodies have been curated for such a time as this.

IZZY AND LIV Sweet Dreams Satin-Lined Bonnet and Sleep Mask - Listed Value $36

I’m a big fan of this two-piece sleep set, which features a satin-lined bonnet and sleep mask. A sleep bonnet, in particular, is something I will always need and can always use; in fact, I can never have enough. I’m happy to report that there is a bit of elastic around the bottom rim to hold it in place while you’re sleeping, and that’s great for me since I toss and turn. The elastic is essential for holding it steady on my head all night long. As for the sleep mask, the second piece to this lovely set, it feels very nice and smooth against the skin. I like how lightweight it is, with a band that’s just tight enough around your head to keep it secure. It is not a blackout mask, however, so if you open your eyes underneath the mask, you’ll be able to see some light if you’re in a well-lit room. IZZY AND LIV Melanin Drip Throw Pillow Cover, 2-pc - Listed Value $42

I never thought I’d be one of those people who get excited about new household items… But I am now, and I have to say, these pillow covers are visually appealing for sure. I’m really feeling the abstract art, featuring the continent of Africa and a woman with an afro puff. The color is very nice too; definitely a bit more gold in real life than in the photo. Unfortunately, I don’t have any 18-inch by 18-inch pillows for my couch at this time, but I like this set of covers so much that I’m going to go buy some. IZZY AND LIV Melanin Drip Fleece Blanket - Listed Value $49

I love a good throw blanket. I tend to have about two or three on my couch at any given time, regardless of the season. This fleece blanket feels nice to the touch, and it’s super cozy. The material itself is a bit on the lightweight side, so if you live somewhere cold, you may need to double your layers; but I’m in Los Angeles, and it’s perfect for these chilly desert nights. The generous size of the blanket allows me to cocoon with ease, and I was happy to see that I can easily wrap it around my shoulders and walk around the house, making the trek from the couch to the fridge. IZZY AND LIV Cozy Girl All Over Pullover Sweatshirt - Listed Value $48

One of the signature products of the Brown Sugar Box is usually a piece of apparel. This time around, keeping in sync with the ‘cozy’ theme, we have a pullover sweatshirt. I really like the colors, with the pink and baby blue, and the pattern is fun. The fit is great, and it has a band at the bottom that keeps the warmth inside and the cool air at bay. Subscribers could have received one of five styles: Queen Flawless Melanin, It’s the Melanin for Me, Beautiful Queen Things, Culture Confidence Soul (Blue), or In Her Mind. I received ‘Culture Confidence Soul (Blue).’
Verdict
I thought this was a great month for the Brown Sugar Box! The highlight for me was the cute pullover sweatshirt that’s perfect for a chilly night; I especially love the color scheme (gives me Lisa Frank vibes). I can always use more sleep bonnets and sleep masks, so the sleep set was a welcome addition to the box. Fleece blankets are a home goods staple of mine, and I’m thrilled to have this one. Now, I can upgrade my blanket collection and swap it with one of the others that’s gotten worn-out over time. Lastly, the pillow covers… They are super cute; I love the pattern, and even though I don’t have pillows to fit these, I’m going to be getting some very soon. Overall, I thought this was a nice selection of products for this month. The curation perfectly suits the ‘Cozy, Comfy, Cool’ theme, and the value is definitely there.
