Yummy Bazaar is a snack subscription box that delivers you gourmet snacks, treats, and other food items from all over the world. Each month, you'll receive 6-8 authentic, full-size items from a handful of different countries. Your subscription also earns you points to use on the Yummy Bazaar site, where you can buy more of the products you really love! With the capability to choose your culinary tour, you can choose to receive items from Italy, France, Asia, the "World Box", or even a charcuterie box for $69.00 per shipment.

This review is of the "World" box, which is $69.00 per month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Packaged extremely carefully, Yummy Bazaar utilizes a hefty amount of packing paper, along with bubble wrap to keep items from bouncing around and breaking. This month's box items arrived in pristine condition because of their attention to detail in the packaging department.

What's Inside the Box

As this is the first time I have received the Yummy Bazaar box, I wasn't sure what to expect paperwork wise. After researching previous reviews (the last one being from 2018) I was sort of expecting an info sheet, but this time around, all I received was a packing list depicting which items were sent.

Olasagasti Black Olive Paste 4.8 oz - Retail Value $9.95

In case you were wondering just what this lovely Spanish jar contained, it is an olive paste prepared in olive oil, sea salt, and wine vinegar. If you are a fan of olives, they suggest using this as a spread for bread, appetizers, pizza, and sandwiches. I personally despise the taste of olives, and avoid them at all costs, so while I didn't enjoy this inclusion, my boys thought a smear of this concotion was perfect on their Italian subs. Has anyone else ever tried olive paste? My mom makes an olive cheese bread and I'm wondering how the paste would flavor the bread over sliced olives. Any other recipe suggestions?

Small Pack Truffle Chips by Torres 1.4 oz - Retail Value $2.85

When it comes to snacks, I definitely have a hard time passing up on a potato chip. My boys took such a liking to the tasty snack that they discovered a book about their invention called "Mr. Crum's Potato Predicament" written by Anne Renaud. (You really should check out the book, after checking it out and writing her a letter, we have made friends with her, and converse through mail often!) Anyways, with dozens of different options to choose from, it's hard to decide which flavor to try! While I have tried a multitude of truffle flavored chips, this was my first experience with the Torres brand, and I have to say I was impressed. I definitely appreciated the full, earthy, flavor these Spanish chips had to offer and was happy to see they are made without artificial dyes and preservatives. Crunchy, aromatic, and a bit nutty, they definitely have a mushroom flavor, but in a good way. Our entire family gave them 2 thumbs up!

La Mere Poulard French Chocolate Cookies Palets 8.8 oz - Retail Value $9.95

If you are a fan of chocolate, you are going to love these dark chocolate and chip cookies. With a crumbly shortbread like texture, these rich morsels are packed with deliciousness. Not only are the French cookies pretty (I love the 1888 embossed detail), but they come in a large, lovely tin. Packaged in sets of four in plastic wrap, you are sure to have a fresh bite. Pairing perfectly with a large glass of milk or coffee, these really need to be served with a vintage tea cup just to get the full experience!

Riso Carena Radicchio Risotto 12 oz - Retail Value $9.95

Cue the Italian music and bring me a glass of wine because this risotto is where it's at! I haven't had much experience with this type of rice in the past, but decided to whip up this package to pair with our homemade venison brats and I'm hooked. After frying in butter, adding chicken broth, and then boiling in water, a divine dish was created and paired perfectly with our side of meat. Of course to make it just a little fancier, we added the parmesan, and the kids loved it. Our 12 ounce package made more than four servings, so I was able to bring some for lunch, too. Tasting just as good microwaved as initially, this was the perfect side for a weeknight meal, and will be purchased again!

Tostini Caffe My Central America Blend Ground Coffee Beans 8.8 oz - Retail Value $8.95

I have to say, this is probably the most fancy coffee I have ever received. Typically, my husband drinks Folgers, and that doesn't involve opening a can! With a finer consistency than what I'm used to, I was really excited to give this Central American blend a try. I typically doctor up my coffee with creamers, but actually found this variety to be a way more delicate and sweet than the Black Silk Folger's roast, and skipped them all together. I definitely preferred this roast to our usual, but my husband didn't think it had quite as much zip. More for me I guess!

Dolce & Gabbana Baci White Chocolate Pralines 5.3 oz - Retail Value $9.95

Speaking of gourmet, I don't know if you can get anymore gourmet than a chocolate collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana! Besides being beautifully packaged, these Italian pralines have a unique twist that I haven't experienced in a dessert like this. White a white chocolate coating, and hazelnuts on the inside, your tongue is greeted with a light lemon flavor that somehow just works. Definitely one of my favorites this month, I was thrilled to have received such a large box.

Simpkins Botanical Collection Rose Drops 5.3 oz - Retail Value $7.95

When I picked up this month's box, I couldn't help but notice the echo coming from what sounded like a tin box. Lo and behold, I believe these rose drops were the culprit. Packaged in a beautiful round tin container, these delicious hard candies looked more like something you'd find in a fancy bathroom than a treat to eat. These British candies not only smell like a freshly bloomed rose petal, but taste like one too! While I had a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around that fact, they truly are addicting, and the sweetness of the sugar melds perfectly with the petal flavor, making it perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

The Verdict

This was my first time reviewing the Yummy Bazaar subscription, and I have to say, I'm impressed. This month we received seven items, and each item was carefully packaged to make sure they arrived in pristine condition. The variety of items was impressive, and I found the curation to be well rounded and fun. My family had a really great time trying new products and discovered ones we want to re-order, such as the risotto. With endless options on the Yummy Bazaar website, we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this box - especially with the upcoming holiday months! Any guesses for what might make it our way?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly, depending on stock availability.

Value Breakdown: This box is $69.00 per month (including shipping). I received 7 full-sized items which average out to $9.85 per item. With a retail value of $59.55, I would like to see the amount of items increased to make up for the extra $10, but also noticed a few of the brands were on sale. I'm interested to see how next month will compare.

This sounds like a fun box. I would need to see more value to try it out.
