Bespoke Post is a monthly membership club that delivers high-quality lifestyle products from up-and-coming brands. It’s voted as one of the best men’s subscription boxes of 2022 by our readers and it’s a great box for women and couples as well.

When you sign up, there’s a quiz to determine your preferences and interests, then you’re matched with a new themed box every month. For $49 per month, each box promises at least $70 in retail value with items ranging from outdoor gear, barware, home, and kitchen goods, clothing, and more.

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview your Bespoke Post box before it ships and you can easily swap for a different box or skip the month for no charge. You only pay for the months that interest you.

This is a review of the "Clad" box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Bespoke Post always has a good presentation. They've recently redesigned their boxes, but they are still instantly recognizable. I like that they have the perfect box or bag for any item you order. It box typically comes with a card to let you know what's inside, as well as a little bit about each item. This month's card did not mention the item I ordered, but instead came with a Spotify playlist.

Line of Trade Kodiak Heavyweight Shirt - Retail Price $75

Crafted by Line of Trade, the Kodiak heavyweight shirt comes in three earthy colors: bone, gunmetal, and pine. I went with the latter, although I wonder if gunmetal was my second choice. It's made of a 15% wool, 85% polyester heavyweight fabric blend to ensure both serious warmth and comfort. It's warm, soft, and rugged. There's 100% cotton brushed chambray trim to keep things smooth at the neck and wrists, color-matched buttons, plus an extra-large buttoned pocket at the chest. And the fabric’s built to last, so it'll take a beating for years to come, per the website. The shirt is dry clean only.

The shirt was everything the site said it would be. Trying it on for the photos was making me almost too warm to be in the house, but outside it was perfect. This would be great for a hike on a cool day or a camping weekend even after the leaves have fell. It's well suited for layering, either as a top layer in the fall or under a coat in the winter. Either way, this baby will keep you warm and cozy. While I appreciate its weight, comfort, and utility, I'm not certain it is my style or that I will use it very much. So I will be returning this one, despite Bespoke Post delivering a solid product. This one is just not right for me.

Verdict

I liked everything about this heavyweight shirt from Bespoke Post, yet it was not right for me. This was the essential buying clothes online experience. It looked good on the models. Me...not so much. No worries. I've returned things to Bespoke Post before with no hassle. Just a bit of waiting before they credit your account (or return your money with a small restocking fee.) So I'm confident I'll get something I'll look better in. I'm not sure if I would try the same shirt in a different color or something completely different, but that is the fun of a subscription like Bespoke Post. If you're looking for a warm, rugged, heavyweight shirt – and it looks like your style – I still recommend "Clad."

Let's Talk About Value

This heavyweight shirt retails for $75. That is $21 saved with this subscription ($54 including shipping). While not the largest savings I've seen from Bespoke, but a solid price for a stylish, rugged shirt that essentially doubles as a coat. Although I am returning the shirt, the money I would have saved would make for a nice chip-in for a campsite with some friends. I feel like this shirt is perfect for getting outdoors in Autumn.
