First Impressions

This subscription comes packaged in a blue and white box, and when you open it you find the items thoughtfully tucked inside of sizzle and tissue paper and sealed with a sticker. You can really tell Bath Bevy pays attention to detail by how they pack their box. There is also an info sheet detailing the products included.

Bath Bevy "Trick or Treat” October 2022 Review

Manifest Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

Manifest was quite a beauty when I added her to a hot tub of water- I liked the clouds of dark color that eventually turned the entire bath a deep eggplant shade, and that intense color rinsed away cleanly without any extra cleaning efforts on my part. The scent of this bath bomb is a mix of fresh cotton and crisp ozonic notes with white blossoms and a base of cashmere, amber, musk, and patchouli.

Essentially Nola Pumpkin Cauldron Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

This pumpkin cauldron bath bomb smelled delightfully of pumpkin bread, and that fragrant scent hit me as soon as the cauldron hit the hot water. This is a slow dissolving bath bomb that didn't really change the overall color of my bath, but I did have fun pulling the bath bomb up out of the water by the little handle and watching the bath bomb action foam and fizz over the top like I was a witch concocting a fun little spell.

Hocus Pocus Epsom Salt - Retail Value $16

I am a big, big fan of using Epsom salts when I bathe, and I love when I have fun salts to use instead of my standard Dr. Teals. These purple salts are scented in "Hocus Pocus," which is a mix of fresh figs, peaches, and passion fruit with coconut milk, vanilla, orchid, jasmine, and freesia over base notes of vanilla bean, caramel, maple sugar, fig leaves, and musk. I'll be honest and say my nose just isn't sophisticated enough to distinguish all of this individual scent notes- but I loved the overall effect.

Bat Attitude Bath Bomb Cupcake - Retail Value $10

I love seeing these bath bomb cupcakes inside the monthly box- they have a colored bath bomb as the "cake" part, the frosting is a bubble bar that you crumble under running water, and this one features a fun soap embed in the shape of a bat. I liked the deep purple-red color this gave my bath water, and I didn't have any issues with it stainiing my stub. "Bat Attitude" is spookily scented with notes of bergamot, camellias, lime, lily, jasmine, rose, sandalwood and vetiver. My nose primarily smelled the floral notes, and I quite liked it.

Trick or Treat Whipped Soap Scrub - Retail Value $15

Regardless of if you subscribe to the standard Bath Bevy box or the tubless version, I think you can count on getting a whipped soap scrub in every box. If you've never tried a whipped soap or whipped soap scrub, you're missing out- I find it makes sudsing up a lot more fun than holding a bar of soap because of the whipped texture, and while there is a mix of sugar in the formula, the "scrubby" part of the experience is gentle and not too abrasive. My boss's two-year-old actually loves to use these to play with when he takes a bath, which means my boss loves them because she can get her two-year-old to take a bath! "Trick or Treat" has scent notes of blood orange, cedar, and anjou pear. As a human who loves both citrus scents and woodsy scents, this was right up my alley.

Pumpkin Spice Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

I loved all the fall-themed scents in this box. This pumpkin spice bath bomb is scented with notes of pumpkin puree, butter, vanilla sweet cream, and cinnamon, and it added a fun orange color to my water. The cinnamon notes didn't really hit until the bath bomb was almost done dissolving, but once I experienced it I loved the smell.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $43.21 per month + $7.95 shipping.

Value Breakdown: Everything in this box is handmade by Bath Bevy. All of the prices add up to $65, which is more than the cost of the box plus shipping.

Key Takeaways

I thought this month's Bath Bevy box smelled great and was a lot of fun- I love these subscription boxes that are embracing these autumn and holiday themes, especially since everything this time of year always just smells so good. As a bath bomb lover, I was definitely stoked by the fact we recieved four bath bombs this month, too. I would say in the average month you can expect to see two or three, and four is an exception and not the norm. If you're me, you would be happy with four bath bombs in a box, but I understand that other subscribers like to receive a wide assortment of products.

Bath Bevy does a good job creating artisan products under their label, and whenever they feature another brand it is always a special treat. If you don't take baths, don't let that deter you from subscribing- they also offer a "tubless" subscription offer (Check out the October Tubless review here!). This is the subscription for someone looking to add a little extra luxury to their monthly bath routine with the added bonus of being surprised by the products curated around a fun theme. If you're a fan of artisan bath products or just love self-care, this is a subscription box worth checking out.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This box was certainly full of bath bombs. I do not like showers, but ordered the tubless box because they sent me two of these boxes. I am really over bath bombs as they can be a bit drying to sensitive skin. Also, I think I’ll love the lotions and body potions in the tubless version. Full size, like FCS used to send.
I had fun with my fizzing pumpkin as well. 🙂 Cute way to play like a kid again for a few minutes!!
