BomiBox "Game Changers" Box Review

Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner, 200 mL - Retail Value $20

I love when we get a full-sized product at popular K-Beauty retailer SokoGlam- they ship from the US, so I feel like their priced are a fair comparison compared to websites that ship from overseas, and I also just love the brand's curation. This Isntree toner is a SokoGlam best-seller, and while it's designed for those with oily or combination skin it worked nicely on my dry skin too. The formula is 80% green tea extract, and this is also made with Centella Asiatica, hyaluronic acid, and blueberry extract. It's not the most hydrating toner I've ever used, but I found it to be very soothing and I liked that.

TOCOBO Coconut Clay Cleansing Foam, 150 mL - Retail Value $10

I am normally wary of foaming cleansers (especially clay-based ones!) because of how drying they can be to my already dry skin, but I was pleasantly surprised with how non-drying this TOCOBO cleanser actually was. This left my face clean but not like it was stripped of moisture (again, not my normal experience with foaming clay cleansers), and the price is very affordable. All things considered, this impressed me!

Farmstay Visible Renew Snail Hand Cream, 100 g - Retail Value $7.90

This hand cream is made with mineral oil, snail secretion filtrate, and green tea extract. It's nourishing without being a grease bomb- I like that since I have a backlog of hand creams to go through at the present time, this also felt really nice when I used it as a body lotion. It absorbed nicely but not instantly, and it left my skin noticeably softer.

Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Honey Lip Balm, 10 mL - Retail Value $9

How cute is the packaging on this lip balm? It's in a little jar and it's absolutely charming. Texture-wise this lip balm is thickkkk- it reminds me of vaseline and is the kind of lip balm I would apply at night before going to bed to keep my lips from drying out while I sleep. It's made with mineral oil, castor seed oil, beeswax, hyaluronic acid, honey extract, and hydrolyzed collagen (just to name a few). A little bit goes a long way, and this is definitely a lip balm I want to keep handy as we head into cooler months.

Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water, 40 mL - Estimated Value $4.80 (buy the 150 mL version for $18)

This is another product currently sold at Soko Glam, and I'll be honest- I wish we had received this as the full-size product instead of the green tea toner! My skin loves this and drinks it up like I do a cool boba on a hot summer day. The texture has more of a slip to it that glides across my face- it feels a little more juicier than your typical water-based toner. The formula is 80% ginseng root water (a hydrating ingredient rich in antioxidants) and this also has skin-loving ingredients like niacinamide, pantheon, allantoin, and adenosine.

Benton Ceramide Cream 10,000PPM, 0.42 oz - Estimated Value $4.04  (buy the 2.7 oz version for $26)

I am a really big Benton fan, and this ceramide-packed moisturizer was a new product for me to try. To the surprise of no one, my skin loved this stuff. Along with a healthy dose of ceramides (which are naturally occurring in your skin and make up about 30% of your epidermis) this is also formulated with panthenol, jojoba esters, and shea butter. This nourishing moisturizing is just screaming "use me after you exfoliate," and I would be a happy camper if a larger size appeared in a future subscription box.

TONYMOLY  I’m Real Tomato Radiance Sheet Mask and TONYMOLY I’m Real Broccoli Vitality Sheet Mask - Retail Value $4 each

I think at this point I've tried every variation of the I'm Real masks that TONYMOLY makes. I like them- they're affordable, and my skin has never had any issues with them. The sheet mask material isn't the softest, and the ingredients list isn't the fanciest- this is more of a basic mask that does a nice job hydrating your skin, and most times that's really all I am asking for from a mask.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44.99

Value Breakdown:

  • Isntree: $20
  • Tocobo: $10
  • Farmstay: $7.90
  • Frudia: $9
  • Beauty of Joseon: $4.80
  • Benton: $4.04
  • TONYMOLY Masks: $8 ($4 each)

Everything in the box adds up to $63.74, which is a little on the low end in terms of values I've come to expect for this $44.99 box, but higher than the value of the box we received last month.

Key Takeaways

I really like my BomiBox subscription, and this month's box was a much better fit for me than last month's. Even though I would have preferred having the Ginseng Essence as the full-size item over the green tea toner, the toner still is awesome for when I am dealing with active acne breakouts- and I love that it's a Soko Glam best-seller. All of the products this month worked well for my skin, and I was impressed that the clay cleansing foam wasn't drying to my skin. This month's box had a value of $63.74, which is higher than last month but still a little low compared to what I have come to expect. However, remember that you need to take these prices with a grain of salt since most of them can only be purchased overseas and that makes finding consistent pricing for them difficult. If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
